Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

84: Chapter 84 Storing Spiritual Plants, Horned Viper KingXiong Yan led Bai Xuan to the cave next door.

Spirit stones and spiritual plants were stored separately, both guarded by ferocious beasts.

Upon entering the cave where the spiritual plants were stored, a dazzling array of spiritual plant resources came into view, along with colorful ores that shimmered and sparkled brilliantly.

Bai Xuan used Eye of Appraisal to check the spiritual plant and ore resources.

[Green Wood Vine, Tier 3, contains massive Wood attribute energy; devour to obtain 10000 evolution points.]

[Burning Flame Fruit, Tier 3, contains Fire attribute energy, extremely helpful for Fire attribute ferocious beasts and human warriors; devour to obtain 10000 evolution points.]

[Ice Crystal Flower, Tier 3, contains Ice attribute energy, born in extremely cold lands, its vines are incomparably sharp and possess a certain lethality; devour to obtain 10000 evolution points.]

[Sword Edge Grass, Tier 3, contains Metal attribute energy...]

[Heavy Rock, Tier 3, can be forged into weapons, or absorbed by Rock attribute ferocious beasts to improve attributes, talent, and level.]

...

These resources were still somewhat useful to Bai Xuan.

”Eagle King, take whatever you fancy,” Xiong Yan said.

Bai Xuan’s subsequent response, however, caught Xiong Yan off guard.

Bai Xuan gently shook his head: ”I only said from the beginning that I wanted spirit stone resources. You should keep these for yourselves. Furthermore, these aren’t of much use to me, whereas you clearly benefit from absorbing them, so I won’t take any.”

The growth of the Savage Bear Clan would be of great help to Bai Xuan in the future.

In preparation for the third Aura Tide, if the Savage Bear Clan’s progress was slow, it would affect the quantity and progress of the spirit stone resources collected for Bai Xuan.

If Bai Xuan even had to step in personally, then the significance of the subduing and nurturing done at the beginning wouldn’t be very great.

”Please take at least some; this is our heartfelt gesture.”

”Since that is the case, I will respectfully accept.”

Since it had come to this, Bai Xuan symbolically picked a few items to take for himself.

Afterward, Bai Xuan exchanged a few words with Xiong Yan.

After bidding farewell, Bai Xuan flew away, heading in the direction of the Golden Eagle Clan.

...

Menggu Country.

The sun was scorching, blazing like fire.

The endless desert and Gobi were desolate and uninhabited.

Ferocious beasts like snakes, insects, rats, and ants hid within the desert.

This was the desert region of Menggu Country, where few people lived.

Coupled with the resurgence of spiritual energy and the rampant ferocious beasts, people dared even less to live here.

Some had even fled to neighboring countries or other nations.

Meanwhile, in the desert, two factions of ferocious beasts were confronting each other, as if a great battle could break out at any second.

One of the factions was the Golden Eagle Clan that had surrendered to Bai Xuan; the Golden Eagle King, leading a dozen or so Golden Eagle underlings, was circling in the sky.

On the desert floor, triangular snake heads emerged, flicking their tongues and staring coldly at the Golden Eagles circling in the air.

Some of them had evolved from rattlesnakes or horned vipers, merging into one clan to survive in this desert where the weak are the prey of the strong. After all, the Golden Eagles were a great menace to them, and they had to be on guard.

”Golden Eagle King! What are you doing here?”

The leader, a twenty-meter-long Horned Viper King, was golden yellow all over, covered in diamond-shaped scales that were incomparably hard. It had leathery horns above its eyelids, and its golden vertical pupils were cold, revealing intense killing intent.

It possessed a Tier 3, Stage 5 level, making it the highest level and most powerful among these snakes.

The Horned Viper King’s massive body was hidden in the fine sand, with only its head exposed.

”What am I doing? Are you still not clear?” The Golden Eagle King’s tone revealed anger, its aura majestic and its killing intent chilling.

It looked like it would fight the Horned Viper King to the death. At the same time, during this period, the Golden Eagle King’s level had also improved, reaching Tier 3, Stage 4.

Although it was one stage lower than the Horned Viper King, it wasn’t certain who would win if they really fought.

Under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t provoke the Horned Viper King, and the Horned Viper King wouldn’t provoke it, reaching a situation of non-interference and mutual peace.

After all, the Horned Viper King’s venom was nothing to sneeze at; a single drop could kill a Tier 3 ferocious beast.

”I’ve already told you that time was an accident; why can’t you just listen? Do you really have to fight us until both sides are badly hurt to be satisfied? This is of no benefit to either of us, right? Let this matter pass; be more magnanimous and don’t keep dwelling on it.”

The Horned Viper King’s tone carried a hint of impatience. Its massive body crawled out of the desert, coiling into a circle, layer upon layer, reaching nearly five meters high, revealing itself to the Golden Eagle King and the other Golden Eagles.

Other venomous snake-type ferocious beasts followed, crawling out of the desert in dense numbers, staring viciously at the Golden Eagles in the air. They raised one-third of their bodies, bending them into S-shapes, assuming a combat stance, looking like they could fight at any moment.

”If you want to end this matter, it’s simple: hand over the culprit, and we’ll leave immediately without another word.” The Golden Eagle King landed on the desert, folded its wings, its eagle eyes cold, its tone firm.

The other Golden Eagles did the same, landing on the desert to confront the venomous snakes, tit for tat, neither willing to be weaker in momentum.

”Didn’t I tell you? It’s already dead. Even if we wanted to hand it over, we are powerless to do so. I hope you can understand.”

The Horned Viper King sighed, feigning helplessness.

”Who are you trying to fool? Just because you say it’s dead, it’s dead? Even if it really died, you should at least hand over the corpse. Otherwise, we’ll go to war. My Golden Eagle Clan is not so easily bullied!”

Clearly, the Golden Eagle King did not believe the Horned Viper King’s words.

A few days ago, the Golden Eagle Clan’s second-in-command, the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle, had died at the hands of these snake-types, succumbing to poison and being cruelly devoured.

This was because the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle was severely injured and had not yet recovered when it went out to forage, giving them an opportunity. Otherwise, if other Golden Eagles had discovered it, the Golden Eagle King wouldn’t even have known about the Crimson Flame Golden Eagle’s situation.

”The corpse cannot be found. If you insist on going to war, I will accompany you to the end.”

The Horned Viper King was not to be outdone, its aura surging.

”Don’t think I don’t know that the snake that killed Xiaoyan is your son. You are openly protecting it and using such low-level tricks to explain it away. Do you think I’m stupid enough to believe you?!”

The Golden Eagle King was furious and couldn’t help wanting to start a war.

The Crimson Flame Golden Eagle was its capable assistant, and even more, a good partner and brother—better than a real brother. To have it killed just like that, how could it not be furious?

”Survival of the fittest, the weak are prey to the strong; this is the law of the ferocious beasts. It was eaten... ultimately, it was just too weak and let its guard down. Who can be blamed for that? Do you not understand such a simple matter?”

”Stop changing the subject. We had already reached an agreement before not to actively attack or harm each other’s clans. Not only did you violate the agreement, but you also want to cover it up. Do you really think our Golden Eagle Clan has no temper!?”

The Golden Eagle King was enraged. Previously, to avoid unnecessary conflict and casualties, it had already agreed with the Horned Viper King not to actively harm each other’s clans.

Because of this, the Golden Eagle King had a reason to come and demand the snake from the Horned Viper King; otherwise, it would have started fighting directly long ago.
