ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

It is high time to say goodbye to the crappy real world and say hello to the world of virtual reality, when you get to have loads of fun.

When it comes to her, everything that happens out there in real world is boring and uninteresting, actually feeling like a penance before she gets to log in and have fun in the world where she truly belongs. That very moment when she gets to log into the game and start playing is the moment where she can feel that she is truly alive, and when she feels a true happiness starting to course through her veins.

However, as much as she loved the moment of logging into the game, she also hated it with a burning passion at the same time. Because if you are “logging in”, this also means that there must come a moment when you will have to “log out”. And she absolutely hated that realization.

「……………]

Her time as Akigaya Shion was now finally over. From here on out, it was finally time for her to live her life in a different world as “Deepslaughter” as much as she wanted.

For the last few years, Deepslaughter has been customizing herself in every possible way imaginable, so much that for someone who did not know here and did not realize that this type of behavior was a norm for her, they would call such odd behavior nothing short of obsession. And the word “obsession” was surprisingly fitting in this particular case.

For example, when she has first met him inside of the ShangriLa Frontier’s world. At that time the situation demanded that Sanraku needed logistical support no matter what, even more than the avant-garde warrior with whom he could fight on the frontlines. And it is precisely because of that encounter that Deepslaughter decided to abandon her previous build which was focusing on “Dual Wand Magic Warrior”, and shift her focus to re-learning the role of the Support Mage, learning and mastering many support and status-enhancing spells in the process.

For another example, that time after they have met once again during the war with the Colored Dragons and the battle against Siegwurm, the Heavenly Emperor. Ever since Sanraku managed to win the title of “Maximum Speed” for himself, she decided that she could no longer be able to physically catch up with Sanraku if she was to stick to a mere role of a Support…… And that is why she chose to start to create another build that she would run in parallel with her Support role. All so that she would be able to create a response to his “Speed”.

Obviously that behavior of hers could not be describe in any other way but reckless. It was also obviously very much unreasonable. It just like that old saying that dictates that those who chase two hares at once will end up catching neither of them, even though you really had to admire someone’s Dexterity for wanting to stick with that task until the very end, no matter what it would be. Most people would be done with such a task about halfway through it, which would also result in their avatars staying forever in that “half-hearted” zone as well.

「Ohh, yes, that’s right, I obviously had to raise my own level quite a bit in order to meet that goal of mine……]

But that is actually the story of “Someone other than Deepslaughter.” A story for another time.

Truth to be told, the crazy upbringing and resets also made up for the shortage of time spent on optimizing the build and collecting resources that had to be acquired.

Just as Sanraku was farming the Crystal Scorpions Nest located in the Crystal Cliffs in order to acquire various high-rarity materials of the higher grade, Deepslaughter also managed to find an area with a high levels of efficiency and leveling, and thus she has claimed the entire area as her own and called it her personal Hunting Grounds.

Her Hunting Grounds is currently being located in the northern part of the New Continent, just a short walk south of the now empty uninhabited village of the Giants.

「But I must say, this is always so unpleasant to see……]

The trees that this area was ridden with were shaking and swaying even though there was not even a single trace of wind blowing that could cause them to move. Not, actually, it was not that the trees were moving. It would be more accurate to say that they were writhing……

「OOOHHH, OOOHH…… OOOHHH, OOOHHHHHH……!!]

It was a creature that had the shape of a human being, but it was not a human being, not by any means. And because aside from Deepslaughter and the delusion of Sanraku that’s been accompanying her inside of her head this whole time, none other Player even managed to discover this particular area of the New Continent, she was the only Player who knew that the enemies like that existed in the first place. Not even someone like Sanraku knew about this place, although he knew about that type of enemy, although in a slightly alternated form.

“Delusional Tree Devil ‘Losers Woods’”. This monster is a mysterious tree demon that constantly lets out the sound similar to a bunch of damned souls moaning in the burning abyss, while showing open hostility towards Deepslaughter the very moment she managed to step into the range of their aggro. And the way in which they were writhing about was simply the worst part of it all.

「Their appearance, their settings, everything about them…… It’s really, really, seriously unpleasant. Like, really unpleasant. So unbelievably UNPLEASANT…… “Blood Pressure Explosion ‘Ruga Erupitio’”.]

What Deepslaughter used here was known as the Momentary Magical Exercise, activated by stopping the chanting process midway through it. This caused the flames of Purgatory to erupt on the spot, a spell that specializes more in inflicting abnormal status effects and knockback effect rather than dealing raw damage itself. They started to crawl all over the ground which was layered with thin blanket of snow and started to burn away the feet of the Delusional Tree Demons that were riddled all over the place.

Once that action was all done, Deepslaughter immediately moved on to the next stage of her grand farming strategy, capitalizing on the fact that the Delusional Tree Demons were still suffering from the stun inflicted by the Flames of Purgatory, as well as the burn wounds (or some of them were actually still caught on fire and burning fiercely).

「“Compensatory Chanting “Subtran spell”. “Additional Chanting ‘Add Spell’. “Status Epilepticus ‘Multiply Accent”. “Casting Shortened ‘Divide Word”…… A Lightning bolt that strikes deeper than the ground itself!]

One spell is the Magic that raises the caster’s Magical Damage by reducing the caster’s HP.

One spell is the Magic that that gives the caster Magic Power correction for the next spell that the caster is going to use.

The longer the time of the incantation that the caster is chanting, the more powerful the spell would become as a result.
