ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「Piyoyo!」

「Hm? What’s this?」

It is now evening. Since the testing period was fast approaching I decided to come back home early and get some studying done. But before doing just that I also decided to log into ShanFro and make a good use of my pre-studying time. You know, to get myself some nice relaxation before shifting my mind into studying gears. That kind of thing.

A message falcon comes straight to me while I was in the save spot on board of the Leviathan.

「Alright, come here, come here. Here! Have some quality bird food for your trouble, little fella.」

The “Bird Food” item, which is often used as a reward for mail birds, is a really popular commodity when it comes to all bird lovers. At the same time, I took out some bacon meat jerky and decided to have a bite as well, and then gave it to the bird. …… So far I have tried peaches, peppers, some nuts and a couple more things. The bird would always eat them, but it seems that the bird food was still its favorite snack. I don’t know if it’s about the taste or what, but that’s not really all that important here. I also gently stroked its head while I was being at it.

「Piyo.」

Huh? I can have some, too? I mean, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and just see what this message is all about…… Ah, h-hooray. It’s sparrow’s wings.

The falcon then hovers in the air right over my head, glaring at Emul who eagerly started to glare right back at it.

The sender of the message is “Ogaboshi”…… Ah, that guy. That elementary school’s honor student with a really strong sense of humor?

As for the content of the message it is in a really great nutshell about: “Let’s organize the meeting of all the known Goldunine contractors”.

So, yes, I don’t know if there is any need to consult them about their motives here, but it may just be that they want to “Come big and traditional”, or ”Come together to fight the greater threat.” Now, the real question here is: which one of those reason is it going to be in here?

「A gathering, huh……?」

Before, I was the one who wanted the propose a ceasefire solution here, but I guess that at the current moment that option is pretty much out the window, huh?

Ahh, but I guess it’s impossible for Sammy-chan-san and the rest of the snakes to go inside the village…… Huh, it would surely create a whole lot of unnecessary commotion, I’m sure of it.

「…… Ahh, but what if we were to bring only Sammy-chan-san with us? Would that even work? Or maybe not?」

For now, I would have to consult this with other Goldunines to see how it would be in the first place.

Not to mention that I managed to gain some useful intel on the Raid Boss in the Bakumatsu Online! Armed with this knowledge, it should be an entirely different battle the next time we meet!

But does that mean that the reign of the Tokugawa shogunate is finally coming to an end? …… Or maybe it will simply be that the great lion is going to be forced to concede his throne to the pack of herbivores that just happened to gang up together against him?

「Oh well, I guess that this is what they mean when they say that the ones living by the sword are eventually going to be done in by the sword, huh?」

Humans, unlike animals can operate based on Intelligence, but we do sometimes act on our instincts as well. We are kind of similar to animals in that regard, but still, we are not the same. But what we would have left if we got rid of that Intelligence of ours? …… But I think that from now on the other Goldunines are going to be focused more on their self-defense rather than anything else.

Maybe we can do something about Sammy-chan-san’s appearance, but we cannot do anything about her sheer mass. And once she starts to break various objects, people are bound to start asking questions. But still, it is good to have something of its mass by your side at all times, just if it was for the sake of countermeasures alone.

Also, it’s a good thing that snakes can’t really consume alcohol. Can you actually imagine what a drunk snake of this sheer size would be capable of doing?

Not to mention that we still have the (Self-Proclaimed) Elementary School kid to consider here.

No, I really think that actually convincing Sammy-chan here is going to be the hardest part.

If she is really serious about her guardian duties and remaining in stealth, then we might have a chance, but…… On the contrary, Sammy-chan-san is good to have around, especially if things would get really dicey. Worst case scenario, she might just swallow Wimp whole and get out of there before anyone would have a shot at hurting her.

So, I guess that for now this is the approach we should have towards Sammy-chan-san. At the very least we are only going to be benefitting from this.

「I. Said. Let. Me. Go.」

「Friendly chat: Your actions does not back up your request. Why should I do that?」

「Huh? Well, there are a lot of…… Oh yes! I can easily peel off vegetables!」

Oh yeah? And what are you going to do with that skill? Get yourself a part-time job? Assuming that they would ever let a monster like yourself get one in the first place……

I do realize that she is motivated to be allowed to work as well, but even so, with the simplest of tasks given to her Wimp was able to do only about half of it, and it was mostly because Sigma was lending her a hand at that. This wouldn’t do. This wouldn’t do at all……

「Eeehh……from the Elven Village all the way to the Northwestern marts of the New Continent……? No, I wish I could find the utility pole in the room that would allow me to traverse vast distances in a flash……」

Kuh, this exquisitely pleasant and unpleasant feeling at the same time…… What to do?

「Wimp, please give me a break for now! At the current moment I can’t think of any possible role for you other than being a meat shield! Is that really what you want here?」

「I don’t want to fight anyone! Why can’t we all live in peace!? Peace is good! Fighting is bad!」

Alright, and the Nobel Peace Prize goes to…… Yeah, as if it was that simple.

「You know what, it’s good that you sound confident like that, but that trembling over your entire body is not at all convincing.」

「She looks like she’s about to faint any second now.」

「No, I think that this time around we are going to do without situations like that.」

Oh yeah, I need to thank my mother one of those days for sure! Using those psychological tricks, I will be able to shorten the distance between Sammy-chan-san and I! Let’s hope that by the end of the year we are going to become even closer and maybe……

「…… Is that?」

Kuh, it looks like we are going to have to deal with that first before we are going to think about any more countermeasures, huh?

「Alright then. Wimp, you’d better brace yourself.」

「Huh?」

Geh! It seems that the first costumers are already here! Alright Wimp, get your act together and get to work!
