ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Yes, when you get down to it, it can all be brought down the timing being downright bad. ……Why does he has to struggle every day to see how effectively he can use his life in the twenty four hours’ worth of time?

[I can do it, I WILL do it……… No, I MUST do it, no matter the cost!]

And thus his battle begun: a long-lasting and unprecedented marathon of work that lasted three days and three nights in a row without even a moment of break. But the dream of Christmas season still lived on within him! His aim was to get at least one week of paid leave! If he does his best without actually dropping dead from overworking himself, he could even get paid without causing any inconvenience to anyone ───!!!!!!

…

………

……………

Three days later.

[Manager. As I mentioned to you the other day, I have applied and I will use my paid leave.]

[Rodo-kun, you do realize that going on a paid leave in December of all months, when the things at work are the busiest, is actually……]

[Manager, I would also like to mention that while I am going to be on my paid leave, it will be increasingly harder to contact with me, since both my personal PC as well as my cell phone happened to break around the same time.]

[No, that’s why I’m saying, Rodo-kun, with you gone on your paid leave, everyone else’s burden at work is only going to be increased and……]

[Manager.]

[Yes? What is it now?]

[Wouldn’t it be even more burdensome to just be forced to work with a colleague who overworks himself to the point of nausea and exhaustion, with tears of frustration and grudges piling up inside of him until the very New Year’s Eve?]

[………………………]

[On my part, I have done everything that needed to be done. The rest is just the work that other people are supposed to take care of on their own…… Well then, Manager, I wish you a good rest of the year.]

A tired, muddy-eyed, sleeping beast was now about ready to descend into the world of ShangriLa Frontier, with a full night of sleep and full charged-up mentality at the expense of social and emotional appreciation.

* * *

For example, a kind of connection that is based on placing the blame on the same source.

For example, a kind of connection that is being directed at how you wish to carry the fight.

For example, a kind of connection that you were once enemies and now you have become comrades in arms.

There is no need to actually drag out the hostilities. They only need the power to achieve a crushing victory, defeat their enemies and then be praised for it, and maybe throw the promise of a possible rematch in the air for a good measure. Regardless of its essence, the strange ties that have accumulated a lot of glaring looks are useful in the most unexpected ways in the most unexpected of places.

[Now then…… I wonder just how many people will actually come?]

What that woman did is extremely simple. She just posted some information on the online bulletin board, emailed her acquaintances with precisely the same information, and sent a screenshot to all of the big guilds that she happened to know. It was just that.

The thing that you could see in the screenshot. Nobody can be sure if it is anger, crying, embarrassment or any other concrete emotion, but for the time being, the only thing that people need to know is that the face of the character in this screenshot is extremely cute…… A white-haired, white-skinned, red-eyed albino young girl who looked so mysterious that you would wonder if she really was there and if she wouldn’t just disappear on you.

And the true identity of this albino young girl just so happened to be that of Goldunine, with the message attached that she is currently recruiting people for the decisive battle against “Goldunine the Inexhaustible”, which can be said to be a Big Bad Boss completely different from her. And that if you were a strong warrior you could come and greet her near the Skull Azuchi Castle in the New Continent.

[Oh, hey there, Sanraku! Listen to this! If we include most of our acquaintances, it seems that a decent number of people are going to answer the call and gather!]

[Yeah, I can see. I can also see that having a uselessly huge amount of friends can actually come in handy once in a blue moon……]

[See, that’s what happens when you are a gentle Big Brother figure to everyone around you. People are going to naturally flock towards you……]

[Yeah, Barbarian Big Bro-san. Really touching. Even if some people may have already forgotten your past transgressions, I will never forget the sight of you devouring the corpses of your own allies and all of the guerilla bullshit that you managed to pull off.]

[Gah! Did you really had to bring up that story? Now I feel so nostalgic all of a sudden!! But oh well…… I’m sure that whatever bizarre and grizzly shit I managed to pull off pales in comparison to some of your own “accomplishments”…… But I also guess that it was because of people like you that this game was so enjoyable in the first place. Wouldn’t you agree?]

There are only two women avatars in this place at the moment. One who emphasizes the ease of movement except for the armor that protects the absolutely key points of her body, and the other who wears a ragged and tattered mourning dress. The other people, and the young girl who they carried atop the portable shrine like a warbanner or a flagship, will have arrived at another secret place by this time.

They both trust their respective aquainted Pioneer Players from whom they sought help…… in both good and the bad ways. And the best possible way in which they could gather help from others was to spread the word that: “This is Goldunine, if you msnage to help her out,vit will be well worth your while. Both item-wise and otherwise”.

[If only that was how memory works! Filtering the memories so that only the “good” ones remain intact…..]

[No, I mean yeah, but…… Well, it certainly was fun, if you’d ask me.]

[If you keep apologizing for all the weird shit thay you’ve orchestrated at that time, then maybe in a few years’ time I’ll be able to say the same thing. ….. How about that?]

[By the way, are we going to keep on wsiting for a reply, or maybe……?]

[Aahh, umm…… Maybe we should wait for five more minutes?]

But it doesn’t really matter all that much. One woman was still listening for what was to come, and the other woman already knew what was going on.

Thwy needeed to gather many people under their banner, but not only those who were strong. They needee those who could stay up all night until the morning sun comes up and can continue to run until the sun falls asleep once again.

The woman had a vague idea about a few people, but if it was going to be HIM, he would be able to take at least a few days off, right? After all, when it comes about both money and status……

The woman had a vague idea, but she didn’t want to snoop about the real world circumstances of some people. But still, she was hoping that he would be there at almost any time of the day …

The answer was brought to her approximately five minutes later. And then another answer came right after the first one, about thirty minutes later.
