ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Alright then, I think that I get it. Mostly, but I get it. I guess that being struck by Break’s hammer actually helped my brain to kick in the right kind of gear as it started to connect various dots from all that information dump I have heard from her just now. And after I have done doing all that…… For the time being, I decided to just leave it as it was. There will come a time to take care of this properly, but that time is not right now.

I mean, isn’t it only natural at this point? If I just keep on getting sidetracked from the main road and the goal that it leads to, at some point I am going to become unable to properly return to it. It might seem trivial, but it is actually a serious problem. People call such a thing “Sub Quest Labyrinth Phenomenon”.

As long as you have your goal clear in sight, then there is no problem. But it is said that people will never be able to return to the main scenario once they are going to become trapped in a twisted and branching structure of side quest labyrinth, especially when finishing one side quest might lead only to two new side quests. And this sometimes seem to be a never-ending loop, with no way to break free out of it or to bring it to a closure. And right about now I needed to be paying especially close attention to what I was doing. My current situation is really dangerous, since at the current moment I seemed to have already been one foot deep inside of that labyrinth, the rest of my body ready to follow suit.

In the first place, I have no idea about what that True Dragon might be. Is it an individual? Or maybe a species? So I guess it would not do me any good to just go into the Sea of Trees and start to randomly search the entire place centimeter after centimeter. I guess that maybe the Scarlet Big Bro should be somehow connected to this thing, but…… I get a feeling that in terms of raw strength and evolution potential, Big Bro is yet to have its last word here. It might hold a nasty surprise or two up its sleeve.

At this point in time, one would really start to think if it is possible to subdue such monstrosity in the first place. I honestly think that at the current moment it is stronger than any other Player out there, so if it was to grow even more powerful, it will eventually reach a level when no Player power is going to be able to kill it, no matter how many Players would gang up on it.

「Alright then…… I’m sorry Break, but we will have to call it a day here. Don’t get me wrong, what you are saying about that whole True Dragon is really interesting and all, but unfortunately I already have my own business to attend to at the moment, so I am going to be quite busy for now……」

「Hmm, I see. Alright. Ohh, yeah. That’s right. Pops told me to give you this if I happened to see you.」

Saying that, Break went over to a pile of rubbish in the corner of her workshop and started to rummage through it. She must have then found the thing that she was looking for, for she throws the thing that Weissash passed onto her towards me. What is that thing supposed to be? A pocket watch or something like that? No, the things on top of it are not the hands of the clock. This is…… Is that a compass?

「What the hell is this?」

「Hmm, Pops called it “Land Traverser ‘Traveler’.」

「Hmm, I see, I see. I get it. So? What the hell is this thing supposed to be?」

「I telling you. Pops called it “Land Traverser ‘Traveler’”. That’s all I know.」

「Okay, and I tell you that I understand that part. But what the hell is this thing?」

(The sound of Break silently lifting her hammer upwards)

(The sound of me assuming the position necessary to intercept it)

「Say something stupid again! I dare you to say something stupid one more time! See how that works out for you!」

「It would be a huge help if you could give me something more than just a name to work with! Then maybe I wouldn’t have to repeat the same words over and over again, you moron!」

Yes! I know! I can clearly see that it’s a “Traveler” or what’s it called! But for all that I care, you can even call it an Iron Needle! I can’t possibly understand the nature of an item just by being told its name, you absolute idiot! Or could it be that you are explaining its nature to me through some mysterious radio waves? Is there something I don’t understand here? Am I actually missing something important in here?

「Right, let’s try this one more time. This, is the “Land Traverser ‘Traveler’. If you use it outdoors, it is going to show you the direction leading towards the place that was decided to pinpoint to by its creator at the moment of its creation.」

「A place decided by the one who created it at the moment of its creation…… And that person would be……?」

「Of course it’s Pops. I thought it goes without saying?」

Hmm? At first glance this thing seriously looks just like a plain and ordinary compass, but…… Ahh, behind all those decorations, you can actually open this thing? Hmm, let’s see, let’s see……

Opening up the medallion-like object and inspecting its insides very carefully, I could see that inside there there was an emblem in the shape of a Bunny and some strange flame-like ornament in the background. All ornamentation on this thing was drawn with a horribly detailed and intricate goldsmithing. But this emblem, where have I seen it before……? I feel like I have seen it, or at the very least something that closely resembled it. Ahh, yeah. That’s right. This thing is supposed to be Rabbitz coat of arms.

「That this supposedly shows your affiliation. Thing is, this thing is actually more than just a convenient tool that points you in the right direction. It is also used to show to everyone that you are being recognized as part of the nation of Rabbitz.」

「The Proof of Affiliation…… Affiliation to whom, exactly?」

「To those who gather in the place that this thing points towards, apparently.」

Break says those words, and then pauses for a short moment to put her hammer down and return it to where it belonged. Then she resumed speaking, gazing at the melted part of the wall in such a way as if she wanted to curse me to death for making it this way.
