ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

It’s a good thing that at the current moment I was resting inside the safety of Sammy-chan-san’s mouth, otherwise I might have died from that terrible shock just now. But just as I thought that, I was suddenly spat out of Sammy-chan-san’s mouth back into the outside world.

「What the hell is…… Whoa,]

What the hell is going on here? Seriously!

Sammy-chan—san is right in front of me, but at the current moment she was looking way more miserable than before. The red damage effects were erupting all over her long body, making it increasingly more difficult to find a place that was still largely intact.

At first I was thinking that this was some sort of optical illusion and that her body has shrunk somehow, but it was then that it occurred to me. In reality it was that Sammy-chan-san’s tail as well as other parts of her body were physically destroyed and lost.

And above all else, Sammy-chan-san’s head is…… What the heck!? What the hell is this!? What did you do in order to receive such horrible damage to your head!? Just look in how bad of a shape it is! At this rate it’s hard to even call your head a head! It’s more like minced meat! You could easily pack that on a plate and sell it at the convenience store at this rate!

「Kuh, j-just you wait, Sammy-chan-san! R-Recovery item! I have a shit ton of those! They are just rotting away in my inventory for the time being, so……!]

Elixir! Yes, Elixir should do the trick here! And I made sure to always have one of those on me at all times! Fuck! Whose idea it was to make the inventory so jam-packed with items!? It’s just stupid! How can I fast grab the item that I am looking for!?

「……………]

「Oh no! Wait, wait, wait! Wait just a moment here, Sammy-chan-san! Don’t die! Please don’t die on me just yet! Just…… Fuck, just clench your teeth and try to endure it just a little bit more! Even the Tri-Headed Tyranno managed to make a full recovery after being treated with this thing, and it was burned to a crisp completely! So if a lump of burnt meat managed to be fine, then someone with their eyes scooped out should be right as rain when I apply this thing! So hang in there, god damn it……!!]

There! That’s it! That’s what I have been looking for! Mystic Soma! I love you, Elixir! You’re the best there is!

「Alright! Hang in there, Sammy-chan—san! I am going to ––––––]

It happened almost at the same time as I was about to pour the contents of the Mystic Soma over Sammy-chan-san’s scales. It was already pretty frustrating that it took me so long just to find the damned thing and get it ready, so when I was approaching with it towards Sammy-chan-san my hands were shaking quite a lot. And then something happened. Something that made me stop in my tracks altogether.

「………~~~~~!]

Seeing that Sammy-chan-san’s movements started to become stiff, I grabbed that recovery item in my hand firmly and got ready to throw it against her body at full swing, everything else be damned right now!

However, what I saw happening right in front of my eyes was not the recovery item reaching its destination. The bottle with Mystic Soma was stopped in mid—air by something and fell towards the ground as a result…… And then the bottle with the Mystic Soma in it shattered into pieces and its contents spilled all over the ground.

「……………]

…… I wonder if I would have been able to do this in time if one of my acceleration skills were off their cooldown in that exact moment?

「Ahh, are you quite done?]

The hysterical laughter echoes in the vicinity. The Poison Maidens approach us with a twisted smiles on their torn faces, rattling their teeth like small blades. I could also clearly hear the voice of Bossdunine, who should still be way in the back behind all of her poisonous servants, ordering them from the place she knew no one would be able to reach.

「Yes…… That’s right, it’s all over. They no longer have anywhere to run away to.]

「Yes, I see.]

No, no way! That’s way too sudden, for crying out loud! NPCs cannot respawn once they die! It’s the only law of this word that nothing can be done about! It’s just the way it is! Fuck! Fuck, fuck, fuck, FUCK! But what’s even more fucked up here is that this situation was not the system’s fault. It was entirely on me! Why couldn’t I do more in here!? Why I didn’t anticipate something like that taking place!?

「What the hell is wrong with this Boss!? How much HP does it have!? What about armor!? But it’s fine! If we know that it has a finite amount of HP, even if it would take three days and three night, we would have been able to fight with her and eventually bring her down!]

Even when you have no allies to back you up. Even when the number of enemies is seemingly inexhaustible. When it matters the most, there are always things that can be done to overcome the challenge and hardships. You lost your weapons? If so, then keep on fighting with your bare hands! So I’m not going to give up! Alright, the lowest goal in here right now is a total annihilation of my enemies!!!

So I once again equip my Scorpion Gauntlets and get ready for a fight. The goal here is simple, the way towards it even simpler: knock down every single enemy that’s getting in your way, get to Bossdunine and fire that Exceed Charge right into her ugly face! Come to think of it, this situation is basically a huge moving stage gimmick, so as long as I should be able to get to the Boss before her minions are going to be able to properly respond, I should be in the clear.

「Alright then, let’s go and……]

「You are wide open~. I have got you now, wouldn’t you agree?]

Right here and right now, the only ones who were able to clearly use human speech were Bossdunine and myself…… Or at least that’s how it was supposed to be.

However, there was no real sign that would herald what would happen next. I did not feel any presence sneaking up behind me, and the moment I have heard that voice whispering into my ear……

And for some strange reason, right about now I could feel a thick blade piercing right through the middle point of my neck.
