ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

The Trial and Error is a process in which the more tries you have at verifying something, the more probable results you can get. But there are some people out there who can do something even a thousand times and they would still not be satisfied with the results that they get…… It is something that is pretty ironic if you start thinking about it, almost as ironic as the fact that more often than not the term “End-Game Content” is pretty much synonymous with the “Endless Work”.

「Oh well, you know what, Emul? I think that there is nothing for you to worry about out there. I may not know Big Bro nearly as long as you do, but if there is one thing I know about him for sure, it would be that he is not an overprotective person. So we can be sure that if he issued a stay-at-home order for everyone in Rabbitz, he must have had a pretty good reason for doing so in the first place. I wonder if my words make any sense to you right now?]

That, and besides.

「Emul.]

「Yes, what is it?]

「The way that I am right about now, how do I look in your eyes? Would you say that my Vorpal Soul is at its fullest?]

「…… Isn’t it actually a little bit shabby?]

I would be a whole lot more assured here if I were to hear a concrete numerical vale, but oh well…… I guess there is no use worrying about it so much, since it’s something beyond my ability to control. But I must make sure that my Vorpal Soul meter is constantly on the rise, otherwise it might be synonymous with being defeated…… No, but I must make sure that I won’t suffer a defeat after defeat while seeking out to increase it too much…… But yeah! Vorpal Soul meter is something that must always be well-maintained and on the rise if I can help it!

Vorpal Soul parameter is not something that is exclusive to Voral Bunnies alone. But at the same time, every time my Vorpal Soul meters seems to be growing, I can feel those awkward stares coming from the NPCs around me…… Yeah, it feels as though they are looking at some hard-boiled character. It’s that kind of stare as if they were watching your every single move closely, anticipating what you might do.

What is the Vorpal Soul in the first place? If we were to assume the terminology from the Table Top RPGs, we could simply describe it as the ability to conduct battle in a perfect, clear and stylish manner. It’s not about mechanics alone, but also about the choreography and the artistic values.

But if it is indeed so, then what should I do about it? What can I do to get rid of the stigma I have suffered from this shit-like defeat not so long ago?

The first thing that comes to mind is to get rid of the Goldunine the Inexhaustible, who is the source of my shame and defeat. That’s the most plausible solution I can think of.

However, the way that I am right about now, defeating the enemy of this caliber is going to be very difficult, if not downright impossible to accomplish. Or rather, isn’t there any fundamental disorder in fulfilling the purpose by preparing for the purpose?

Then what should I do? No, I’m just not sure what I’m prepared for, so I’m just asking myself that question in order to kind of cheat myself into the right mindset at the current moment. cheating. From the moment I have left the “Snake’s Apple”…… I was actually on the lookout for something that I could point my blade towards and be done with it.

「Why is it that answers can never be served to us on a silver platter, huh?]

「Answers, you say?]

There is only one answer that meets the condition of “a strong enemy that has not been defeated yet”, that is also comparable to Nightprowler Luukan.

「Say, Emul? Can I at least ask you to teleport me back to the frontline base?]

「Why, yes! Of course! Just leave it to me!]

“Farewell” means that you are going away for the time being, but not that you will never come back again.

So it looks like the time is nigh for us to actually settle some matters, my Brother.

* * * ? ? ? * * *

When it comes to snakes, if there is something that they should be avoiding at all cost, that would be any source of light, as well as crowded, busy and well-populated spaces.

Artificial sources of light are something that is created by the humans. And hustle and bustle of well-populated places indicate that there are large number of humans there. And humans, above all else in this world, hate snakes with a passion…… Every time they would find one, they would not rest until it was exterminated, aiming at it with all of their resources and terrible weaponry.

「……………]

Scary. So very scary. Humans are terrifying beings that had to be avoided at all cost.

That should be so. But even so,

「……………]

I am the only one who is left alive at this point. During those long years, my most precious treasure has been lost, and the only thing that managed to survive from those times is my pathetic, timid self.

「……………]

If humans were to discover me now, I would surely be killed on the spot. No, I am certain that this is what would happen. After all, my life should have ended a long time ago. Right now I’m actually living on a borrowed time.

I can still drag my still-moving body forward, slowly, ever so slowly…… But even though I am moving slowly, for me it feels like I am rushing forward without stopping, without any means to stop.

There is still something that I must do before the end. I still have something that needs to be delivered……

I still have feelings that I need to entrust forward. I still have wishes in me that I want to fulfill, even though I might no longer be able to do that myself. But the weight of the regrets that I am no longer able to do those things is pressing down on my back heavily, making it really difficult for me to actually press forward.

Why is it that this body needs to be so vulnerable? No, even though the snakes thinks that way, she already knowns the answer to that question painfully well.

After all, it was only because of her own timidness that she has found herself in this situation. It was her own timidness that cost her her life. because he was timid that he lost his death.
