ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「……… Huh? Hmm………? Huh……?]

At that exact moment, Sanraku stopped moving.

That’s because he was unable to find his own solution to the common-sense question: “Well, whatever the fuck is this person going on about right now?” And that realization hit him way harder than it actually should have.

Normally, he would have considered such rumbling but nothing more but a barking of a lonely pig that did not wanted to be slaughtered, an action synonymous with a loser begging pathetically for their life. However, Hizutome Rakuro vel Sanraku was no longer a child, but a person who was right around the corner of becoming a full-fledged adult. And with age, his sensibility grew stronger, so he would not simply kill another person just like that, no questions asked. However, it is that kind of rusty behavior that would not allow one to survive on a Deserted Island Online for too long.

And that is exactly why,

「Dude, shouldn’t you be begging on your knees for your life like, right about now?]

「GOH, aah……!?]

A poison sword released by the Goldunine the Inexhaustible that gotten into the attack range managed to pierce Sanraku’s torso without any resistance.

「Fuck……]

Miracles never happen twice in a row. If anyone could make something like that happen, it would only be someone worthy of the title of a “Hero.”

This time around, the avatar of Sanraku shattered to pieces, and Hiiragi could not be more relieved to see it than she was right now…… But the feeling of being cornered and about to die, as far from safety as possible, still lingered inside of her mind like an unpleasant memory.

「……………?]

「Ah, umm…… I—I’m not here to mean you any harm, so I’ll be on my way now…… oaky?]

「Hmm, how about…… no?]

Before she was able to say anything more, the poison bomb was thrown and it struck Hirragi square to the face.

––── And just like that, all of the Players who were present in here were dead.

「You seriously thought that you will be able to escape from me? Fufufu…… Unpleasant. How obscenely unpleasant.]

…

………

……………

Goldunine the Inexhaustible has left the area, but the local beasts were still too frightened of her and her snakes that they did not dared to approach the area. It was going to be that way for quite a while longer.

The trees around the area have been miserably knocked down, and the land has been polluted by repeated explosions of poison. Meanwhile…… Two shadows crawled out from the root of a large white tree that was broken right through the middle of its trunk.

「Fufufufufu … Ahahahaha! Success! A huge success! We did it! Hey! Isuna-chaan!! We did it!]

「So it would seem.]

「Ahahaha, I was thinking for a moment there that you were also actually terrified of that Goldunine the Inexhaustible, but…… She isn’t actually that much of a deal, huh?]

Two shadows that crawl out of the hole in the ground, one of which was Hiiragi who should have died right there thanks to Goldunine’s attack. And the other is the Goldunine “Isuna” who shot at the disappearing white snake’s eyes and took them out.

「Geez, for a moment out there I was seriously worried what was going to happen! I mean, that perverted bird-head seemed to be so intent on killing me that it was actually kind of hilarious!…… But I guess that all’s well that ends well, huh?]

While it is true that Hiiragi has the class of “Stealth Force” set up, but it is just a sub-class in her case.

As for her main class, it is…… “Slaughter Demon ‘Killing Joker’”. It is a hidden class derived from the higher profession of “Assassin” on condition that the user has to kill ten or more Players with a certain karma value and their Player Name Tag being red in color.

Its greatest feature is its unique magic spell “Death That Makes You Laugh! ‘Killing Joke’”. Once the spell has been cast, if the HP of the Player who cast it would be reduced to zero by any means, that Player is going to be respawned at the last save point they have rested at with fifty percent of their HP bar restored.

And although the spell duration is rather short, only lasting for about ten seconds or so…… It is actually a whole lot of time, especially in a game such as ShangriLa Frontier. And right about now it is the only known way to actually avoid the penalty for being killed by other Players.

However, although this time it ended in the form of unexploded ordnance without actually activating its effect, Hiiragi still managed to respawn from the small hollow tent without actually being killed by the other Player, but rather dying from the hands of the Unique Monster Goldunine the Inexhaustible.

「Ahahaha! I actually could not perform my usual Player Kill routine, but when all is said and done, I still get to collect those sweet items ~ ♪]

It’s was a real pity that she couldn’t throw away the contents of her inventory in time, but for some reason, the weapons and accessories that Sanraku was equipped with at the time, the ones that should not have fallen anyway…… Or more specifically his armor piece and accessory have fallen on the ground right where he happened to die.

「Huh? What’s this? Hmm, I wonder why something like that happened…… Oh well, who cares? Lucky me!]

Saying that to herself, Hiiragi started to collect the spoils of her labor: the Amber-Embedded gloves with nice embroidery and a huge piece of black gauntlets, shining with ominous light…… and there was also some strange looking mask out there, one that changed its shape and shrunk considerably in size once Hiiragi picked it up from the ground.

Hiiragi stared at that last piece of equipment for a long while before eventually……

「The hell is this? Gross! I feel sick just from having to look at it!]

Even though it was just a game, she still did not want to have anything to do with a mask that some twisted pervert was carrying around with him, or even wearing at some point in time. It was actually the very last thing that she would like to do.

Without picking up the weird fallen mask, Hiiragi trampled all over it and left the area with Isuna while skipping every few steps, as if she was having the best time of her entire life right about now……

And then the sun started to set and the night came about.
