ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

「Here is the item that you requested, as promised.]

Having said that, I placed the golden bucket filled to the brim with Golden Magma right in front of Break. Normally, if you were to place a bucket full of magma on the table, both the bucket and the table would melt away, same thing with the floor. And then there is also this: when you take the magma out, you run the risk that it will start to cool down and harden as a result. …… But the Golden Magma that was taken out of my inventory still maintained its heat and brilliance without fading even a little bit.

「…… If you were able to procure something so rare and precious so easily, then maybe the next thing I will ask you to bring me is going to be the legendary Moon Rock.]

「You know, I would very much appreciate it if you were to keep your requests in the realm of things that are actually possible to obtain. Can’t bring you something that is well beyond my reach.]

If it really is the Moon Rock that she is going to request next, then I will be in quite a predicament. I mean, I am not at the stage where I can go and visit the moon as I please. But if she is really going to insist on that, I guess that my only option here is going to be to look up to the sky and make a prayer to the Goddess of the Random Numbers. Then we just hope for the moon to explode and send some of its pieces to come flying straight towards this Earth, hopefully close to my current location. Yes, a meteor shower is our safest bet at the current moment.

「Are you going to be able to make something with this thing?]

A weapon made out of the materials from the Extraordinary Monster “Golden Age”, a golden crystal weapon that aims to achieve the new heights previously unseen…… This is what Break needed the Golden Magma for.

It’s a truly mysterious material that has something to do with the creation of those legendary Heroic Weapons, but from my point of view, it’s just a material with a high degree of rarity used to create high-tier, powerful weapons. Not to mention that is tremendously difficult to collect and transport.

「…… Yes, you can count on that. Trust me when I say this: the Golden Crystal Scorpion is the child of the very earth itself. And what you need to help it mature from a “Child” stage and reach “Maturity” is the blood of the earth. This is the last necessary component.]

Wait, are you trying to tell me that this thing was actually an infant? That Golden Age? I know that the monsters designs are getting more and more complex this day and age, but what’s this? Are you going to implement a growth system to them in one of the future patches? Huh, who knew? I guess that you learn something new each day. I just hope that too much wisdom about monster won’t cause my in-game brain to overheat and cause me Damage Over Time.

While I was seriously pondering that matter for a moment or two, I then realized something: Break was not trying to do anything with the Golden Magma, instead just staring right at it very intensely, question marks popping above her head one after another.

「What is it? Are you perhaps thinking about trying to eat that Golden Magma? Want me to procure you some white rice as a side dish? I think it would go perfectly with that.]

「No! That’s not it! Are you stupid!? Goodness gracious…… Say, Sanraku? I might have a request for you. Will you hear me out?]

「A request, you say? And I don’t suppose that it’s about an additional order for the current shopping list, correct?]

To those words, Break says nothing. She just closed her eyes, crossed her arms and went deep into thought, staying all quiet…… But if you were to listen really carefully, it would seem that she was making some sort of silent sounds with her throat? What is this, those vibrations? Is that a sign of an incoming howl?

「…… And that, is my request to you, I guess. And just to let you know, you are completely free to accept it or to decline it. I won’t hold it aginst you, no matter what you chose.]

「No, you see…… It might sound awkward, but I couldn’t hear you well. Can you say it clearly this time around?]

「I have finally got the opportunity to become the God Master, so I want to go for it.]

「Ahh, really?]

Ahh, I see how it is now. You’ve done it now, Break! I might be a Combat Type here through and through who has no idea about production jobs, but seeing my personal blacksmith growing and expanding her horizons is always something to be happy about. And it makes me especially happy as your patron! I’m looking forward to your future creations.

However, why do I get a feeling that something smells fishy in here as well? The highest profession available to a blacksmith…… If she has a path opened before her to reach the absolute pinnacle of her profession, then why does she have such a long face? Isn’t that class available for her equal to some of the most powerful hidden jobs? It is most certainly a possibility that this is the case here, but……

「Wait…… Please, don’t tell me that you actually need that whole Moon Rock thing?]

「While I would really like that to be the case, it’s actually something different. Right about now, there is only one thing that I really need…… Yes, just one little thing.]

And she still chooses to be pretty much roundabout about those things, huh? But oh well, it doesn’t matter all that much. After all, I am a man who managed to save the world countless of times while overcoming various “The time is not yet right for you to know about it……” kinds of scenarios. No, first of all, I need to get more information, as to avoid any unnecessary sacrifices! Takeda-san always used to say that the larger the prize dangling in front of you, the bigger the angler fish that is lurking in the shadows behind it! And that behavior leads to much dandyism…… I mean, I guess he was playing way too much FPS games at the time, so they might have warped his opinions a little bit. Yeah.

「But “God Master”, huh……? No, I feel like it’s more about “The Blacksmith” who goes beyond the realm of “today” and advances into the realm of the “future”…… A person who honors the tradition while also setting their sights on the great achievements that are still to come……]

「Umm, Break? Hello? Is there anyone home?]

「Aradval.]

「Come again?]
