ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

Six seconds. That is the approximate amount of time I spent on making decisions and taking appropriate actions after surveilling my surroundings. I then jump forward with a huge smile blooming on my face.

The vast majority of the Players certainly would not care in a situation like that, but right about now the actual pressing matter and cause for concern is the horde of angry monsters right behind my back. And in a situation quite like that you certainly would not expect the bait to just jump right in, especially right after making a loud proclamation about the Hunger meter.

But then let’s change our perspective for a moment, shall we? Are there any possible merits that I can receive from a sudden event like that?

The answer is short and simple here: “Bonus Time”.

「Thank you very much! No, seriously, thank you so very much, oh kind stranger! And sorry in advance for any injuries that you are about to suffer!]

「H-Huh? Say what now……? Huh?]

People who are no longer able to maintain their consciousness have already disappeared. I’m sorry for that, but it will actually disappear from this place as well, so no hard feelings, okay?

But then, what should I do now? Which action would be better to make the first move when compared to the Tri-Headed Tyranno? I can either replenish my own hunger meter with some tasty nutrition, or use that six seconds worth of time in order to gather some much needed Kill Score using the combination of both the Holy Grail and the R.I.P.

And if you don’t know anything about this current situation or if you feel sorry for having to run a monster train through someone —— then don’t be. You have nothing to feel sorry for.

This situation right here is like I’m trying to basically take head-on a tank that is able to spew napalm all over the place.

「Huh? Umm, no, w-wait! Wait just a minute! Wai…… GYAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!??????]

Once you have burned through all of your possible calories reserves through fierce battle and spewing out napalm all over the place, there is no other way for you to replenish your lost strength but through predation. And in its current state, our dear “Scarlet” here cannot allow itself to be picky about its meals

.

Perhaps that mysterious stranger saw us duking it out and thought that the “Scarlet” was starting to become inferior to me, and that is the reason why they chose to interfere the way they did, to put a wrench in my plans, but…… While the “Scarlet” was ready to bite into the “bait” presented to it I chose the Jeweled Sword from my inventory and paired it up with the Aerial PD, about ready to use the opportunity that would present itself to me in a moment.

Then I jumped right into the horde of dinosaur-like creatures while trying to pick up ten or so of them that would look like they were the easiest of the whole bunch to kill without too much issue. What comes after that is basically to make the best that I possibly can from this monster train for myself.

「You utter fool! This is the difference between you and me! The Players have no actual caloric deficit that they need to worry about! Maybe you should really consider going on a diet, huh!? My dear Brother!]

Usually I would consider such a horde of small fries to be nothing more but an eyesore, but at this very moment my impression couldn’t have been different! This is an All-You-Can-Eat-Buffet! A true Imperial Feast if I have ever seen one!!

The Jeweled Sword is a sort of two-faced weapon, the battle performance of which changes greatly depending whether you are using it during the day or at night. And this red and shiny luminous blade can be used either for normal slashing or as a simple projectile, but its special attack, the “Projectile Slash” has a rather interesting property to itself. One that I hope is going to make a difference here.

「Come on! Die in the absolute agony! And let that agony become the source of my strength! Come on now, my buffs……!!]

The Jeweled Sword has its own special gauge that can be described in a huge nutshell ast the “Stored Light”. It works in a way that the more sunlight is stored in the blade, the more projectile slashes can be used later on. Easy enough, the more the gauge is filled the more uses of the special ability you get. But yes…… this only thing that the gauge is increasing is the number of times that this ability can be used.

A single crimson slash was fired from the Jeweled Sword and its Boundary Light was swung out forward, and it easily managed to slash one of the smaller raptor-like enemies in half, which would be kind of surprising when you compare the size of the enemy and the size of the slash that came its way.

Because you see, the actual strength of the ability of the Jeweled Sword depends solely on the stats of its User……!!

Strength, Dexterity, Technique, all of those stats are referred to in the exact moment of making a swing with this sword. But above all else, there is also the Agility stat……!! And even if it turns out that I am still lacking some of that much needed firepower here, I can always boost it even further with the use of the stats bonus granted by the R.I.P! And the more kills I score with the R.I.P, the higher the stat bonus! And with this increased status I can earn even more kills with the use of the Jeweled Sword slashes, which only grow more powerful thanks to the increased stats!

「Come to me, my small fries! It’s feeding time!!]

And right here, this is the moment when the “Scarlet” should be able to catch up. It would also seem that this mysterious other Player was hardly enough to satisfy its enormous hunger, serving as a starting hard-boiled egg rather than a main course dish. However, it would still need to eat more food, so its attention should be temporarily directed towards that matter, allowing me so much needed breathing room. And its wondering bloodshot eyes only served as a proof of that very theory.

And apparently, all the other monsters that were lured in here in the frenzy of the monster train finally managed to notice that as well…… That the stranger who guided them here in order to let them feast onto something nice, but that they were more like the Pied Piper of Hamelin, leading them all towards their doom in the fangs of the apex predator. And right about now they were nothing more but a delicious meal served on a silver platter.

「So anyways, I am a really merciful person. Those bigger monsters are not all that time–efficient for me to take care of, so you can have them no problem. As for me, I will go for all the smaller ones……
