ShangriLa Frontier ~ Shitty Games Hunter Challenges Godly Game ~

I’m extremely tired at the current moment. But as soon as I am able to relax, my mouth seems to loosen up…… and then I smile with both fatigue and joy.

Being able to defeat Drakarus Dinocerberus “Scarlet” completely on my own here…… No, it was not a clear and proper solo, because of that strange Player, so it’s like a Solo plus Assisted clear. Yeah, that sounds about right. It is suitable to be called a feat to be impressed by, and there is no shortage of grinning on my end when I remember it. Plus, I did not see any nametags from that other Player, so I don’t even know who they were. So I can’t even properly thank them, but whatever.

However, the number of Drop Items that were falling from “Scarlet’s” body after I have defeated it…… Yeah, their sheer number is really dangerous. Like, REALLY dangerous. The sheer amount of those items makes me think that I will be able to make a full set of both weapons and armor out of it

But let’s save the fun part for later, shall we? In the first place, the main purpose for me to actually going against “Scarlet” right here was not the Drop Items. No, it was never about that. It was for the sole purpose of regaining the Vorpal Soul meter that I might have lost. It was also for me to be able to better my rather foul mood. And it was also so that I could proudly stand before that door once more.

「Master…… I am really sorry for what I’m about to say, but according to my Intelligence……]

「Sigma, I have always thought that Intelligence should be flexible, if nothing else, am I right?]

Sometimes you just have to go in hard, no matter what. So that’s it! Here we go! Dynamic Entry!!!

「Iron Fisted Door Knock!]

BAGYAN!!!

With that little performance the doorknob is crushed and destroyed, and the wooden board that can no longer perform its role of keeping the door locked is then properly kicked off to the side. Just like that, the doors are opened. And what greeted me inside of that rigid room was a ghost of the girl draped in white cloth…… Wait, what!? White cloth ghost!? Do they also have ghosts in the New Continent!? You learn something new every day, huh? …… Oh well, all joking aside, I take a step forward towards Wimp.

「No! Don’t come any closer! Stay away!]

「Oh my, this won’t do. This just won’t do, Wimp. Oh, and Sigma? Go downstairs and apologize to the Owner in my stead, okay? Also, tell him that I’ll pay him back for the damages later. With a hefty sum of money.]

「……Roger that.]

It’s not that huge of a hassle, but first-class people are attentive to the smallest of details even in the middle of very complicated things. This is a prerequisite for being a Healer, after all.

「……………]

「No…… No more…… I’ve had enough……]

The white cloth number two seems to have been blown away by the wind, and then it shattered into tiny little pieces and disappeared. And while I realize that some people out there would certainly consider Wimp to be beautiful, right about now she looked as miserable as you could imagine her to be.

「…… Wi,]

「Why!? Why did you let Sammy-chan die!?]

「……………]

「You were there all this time…… So why……!? Why did Sammy-chan…… had to leave me…!!]

It is not easy to fill the hole in your heart after you have lost someone who was precious and important to you. Furthermore, if the pain of being betrayed and sadness are poured into those who believed them to be true, wouldn’t that basically create a suffering that is impossible to withstand?

Whether it’s crying, being angry, or cursing the entire world…… All of those dark emotions were currently being kneaded and spat out at me right inside of this small room.

But it wasn’t that particular outburst that managed to pick my attention.

「…… Hey, you seem pretty lively there, huh?]

I couldn’t see it well because it was hidden behind Wimp, but it was a small snake lying down on the floor.

Well, of course it’s not Sammy-chan-san, it was something smaller than the anaconda that actually exists in the real world…… In other words, it’s a small snake that is classified as “ultra-small” in this world.

─── Although the story might have changed, I personally think that no one in the world has as much “experience” as a gamer as I do at the current moment.

I have defeated all sorts of villains from small bosses all the way to the great Demon Lords, saved the world countless of times wither on my own or with the help of very specific individuals, and even walked in a world that will continue to be created endlessly as long as human imagination continues, no matter how many times it is destroyed…… Some people might laugh at that notion, thinking that games are just that, video games, but how can you deny all those experiences just like that? Especially since in recent times more and more Full Dive VR games feel just like the real world, no matter if you are just walking around or fighting a dragon for dear life. At least that’s what I honestly think.

And if it is just like that, then gamers are people who have seen all sorts of tragedies and comedies unfold in front of their very eyes. As much as many games they have played. For a dying snake to bring up such a strong reaction in Wimp…… Hmm, I see. I guess this is what roleplay is all about.

「I don’t know if you can understand our language, but thank you for taking your time to keep this wuss company.]

Looking at it like this, it might seem to be nothing more but a really fancy straightjacket, but it’s also the longest relationship that Wimp has ever had in her life. I had given up on the fact that it was completely lost, but…… I mean, I was a little shocked even if she disappeared completely, but I wasn’t troubled all that much because of it. Still, I would be really happy if she actually came back.

But that’s not that important right now…… It means more or less that this snake is probably another Goldunine genus, and it has taken the trouble to bring us right to this very point in time. And when it comes to living your life, there are two types of unskilled people who are on the verge of death.

In other words, we have those who think “I don’t want to die!” and “I can’t die even if I am going to die!”

And if this snake right here is representing the latter group, then…… Then I guess the way to roleplay my way through this has been officially decided, huh?
