Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua approached Su Jintao, he hurriedly began to explain, ”You’ve misunderstood. This is what happened. Let me explain it all from the beginning…”

Su Jintao then recounted the events of that night.

It turned out that on the very first day Zheng Mona Lisa arrived at the women’s college, the student responsible for welcoming her and carrying her luggage was none other than Su Jintao. The moment he laid eyes on her, he felt that the goddess of his dreams was standing right before him. That very night, he went to the entrance of her dormitory building. He had bought flowers and chocolates and loitered outside her dorm for nearly two hours. Although he desperately wanted her WeChat ID, he was too timid and self-conscious to confess his feelings, or even to speak a single word to her.

Just as he was about to give up and head back to his own dorm, Zheng Mona Lisa came out. She was on her period and had run out of sanitary pads, so she went out looking for a campus supermarket to buy more. Seizing the opportunity, Su Jintao began to follow her.

Zheng Mona Lisa ended up wandering in a large circle around the campus. Even though the supermarket was close to the women’s dormitory, her severe myopia prevented her from spotting it. Unknowingly, she walked toward the small woods behind the school’s sports field, with Su Jintao trailing her the entire time, waiting for a chance to approach.

As she emerged from the woods and reached the edge of the sports field, a light rain began to fall. Su Jintao saw that it was raining and that she didn’t have an umbrella. He immediately sprinted back to his dorm, grabbed an umbrella, and rushed back. However, just as he was about to run over and offer it to her, the Rainy Night Killer suddenly appeared.

The Rainy Night Killer held a black umbrella, shielding Zheng Mona Lisa from the downpour. The moment she looked up and saw his face, she was terrified and turned to flee. Because of her poor eyesight, she ran blindly and crashed straight into Su Jintao’s arms. Coincidentally, Su Jintao was also holding a black umbrella, identical to the killer’s. In the last moment before she fainted, the face she clearly saw was Su Jintao’s. She mistakenly believed he was the Rainy Night Killer.

When Su Jintao realized he had accidentally knocked the woman he adored unconscious, he carried her back to his dormitory. In his room, gazing at her, he couldn’t resist the urge. But just as he was about to make his move, Zheng Mona Lisa suddenly woke up and began to struggle desperately. To stop her resistance, Su Jintao injected her with a drug he had illegally purchased online. The instructions had only said that the drug would keep a woman calm. It said nothing about turning a person into a mindless, living zombie.

However, Zheng Mona Lisa had a naturally allergic constitution. After being injected, she not only fell into a coma but also entered a vegetative state, becoming little more than a walking corpse.

Seeing what he had done, Su Jintao panicked. To cover up his crime and hide her, he dug a hole in his dorm room wall. He then went online and bought a print of Da Vinci’s famous painting, the ’Mona Lisa’. He placed Zheng Mona Lisa inside the hollowed-out wall and hung the painting over the opening.

As time passed, the effects of the drug slowly began to wear off. Every morning around one o’clock, Zheng Mona Lisa would regain a sliver of consciousness and let out one or two muffled, horrifying screams. Though quiet, her cries were coincidentally overheard by Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua, who rushed into Su Jintao’s dorm and discovered the scene.

After listening to Su Jintao’s story, Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua were skeptical. To verify his account, Zhao Rong immediately bought a lie detector app online. It looked just like a smartphone, and its operation was simple. He just had to hold the phone’s microphone to the subject’s mouth and have them repeat their story. Then, through complex calculations and artificial intelligence, the lie detector would determine if they were telling the truth.

To test Su Jintao, Zhao Rong held the device to his lips and made him tell the story all over again. After Su Jintao finished, a synthesized voice announced from the device, ”This statement is true. Absolutely certain.”

When they saw the lie detector didn’t register any deception, Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua finally believed him.

After hearing the whole story, Zheng Mona Lisa finally understood. The first person she had met on that stormy night was the Rainy Night Killer, and the second person was merely Su Jintao. She was torn. This man before her had saved her from the Rainy Night Killer, yet he had also abducted her, drugged her, and sealed her inside a wall. She looked at Su Jintao with a mixture of teeth-grinding hatred and helpless conflict. Helpless, because he had saved her from the killer. Hateful, because after saving her, he didn’t take her back to her own dorm but to his. And while he hadn’t succeeded in assaulting her, he had injected her with a drug and imprisoned her. The whole ordeal felt like a horrific nightmare.

Zhao Rong felt profound sympathy for her. ”Zheng Mona Lisa, we are so sorry for what you’ve been through,” he said gently. ”We will hand this man, Su Jintao, over to the police. Right now, I think you should see a psychologist to help you process this, and then begin to get your life back.”

With that, Zhao Rong took out a pair of handcuffs, cuffed Su Jintao’s hands behind his back, and dialed the police.

When Su Jintao saw Zhao Rong making the call, he shouted in a panic, ”You said if I told you where the Rainy Night Killer was hiding, you’d let me go! You promised you wouldn’t press charges! Why are you calling the police now?”

Zhao Rong looked at him and sighed. ”I’m breaking my promise because your crimes are unforgivable. If I let you go today, I’d be condoning them.”

Wang Guihua stepped forward and gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Zhao Rong, I support you. Even though you broke your word and didn’t honor your promise, Su Jintao’s actions are too vile to be ignored. If you let him go, another girl would certainly suffer the same fate as Zheng Mona Lisa.”

At that, Zheng Mona Lisa stood up. She walked over to Su Jintao, slapped him hard across the face, and snarled, ”Fuck you! An animal like you thought you could escape the law? You’re delusional! When the police arrest you, I’ll be in court as a witness. I’ll testify against you and expose your depraved cruelty. I hope the law gives you life in prison!”

Wiping away her tears, she turned to thank Zhao Rong. ”Thank you, Zhao Rong, for rescuing me from his dorm. If it weren’t for you, I might have been trapped in that wall for the rest of my life, until I died…”

Zhao Rong pulled the crying Zheng Mona Lisa into his embrace. ”Don’t be afraid,” he comforted her. ”As long as we’re here, no one will dare to hurt you.”

Wang Guihua also stepped forward to console her. ”As the principal of this school, I welcome you back to your studies. Furthermore, I am awarding you this year’s entire scholarship fund to cover your expenses.”

When Zheng Mona Lisa heard this, she immediately expressed her gratitude. ”Thank you, Principal! I promise I’ll study hard to repay your kindness.”

Just then, Zhao Rong’s eyes darted to the building opposite them. On the balcony of room 504, a terrifying figure flashed past and disappeared.

A jolt went through him. He said to Wang Guihua and Zheng Mona Lisa, ”You two watch Su Jintao and wait for the police to arrive. I’m going over to room 504. I’m going to see if I can catch that arrogant Rainy Night Killer.”

As he finished speaking, Zhao Rong used Instant Teleportation and vanished from before their eyes.

When Principal Wang Guihua saw Zhao Rong disappear in an instant, she stared at the empty space, her voice filled with awe. ”Zhao Rong, you’re truly incredible! You come and go without a trace, like a living immortal…”

Zheng Mona Lisa was also amazed. ”Zhao Rong… you really are a badass.”

Su Jintao’s jaw hung open in disbelief. ”No way… I’ve been alive for over twenty years, and this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone who can actually teleport…”

When Zhao Rong’s Instant Teleportation ended, he opened his eyes. As he took in the dark dormitory, he was met with the sound of loud snoring and the unbearable stench of feet. He instinctively drew the Dharma Sword from his Magic Ring, preparing for a fight.

”Rainy Night Killer,” Zhao Rong called out into the darkness. ”I know you’re hiding in here. Show yourself!”

With that, he flipped on the dormitory lights.
