Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Listening to Su Jintao’s statement, Wang Guihua stepped forward, grabbed his collar, and slapped him twice across the face.

”You beast!” she raged. ”As a student at a women’s university, you’re worse than an animal! Since she didn’t like you, why did you have to force yourself on her?”

Blood trickled from the corner of Su Jintao’s mouth where Wang Guihua had struck him. He retorted with twisted logic, ”I may be a loner, but in this world, if there’s a woman I want, I will have her, no matter the means!”

Enraged, Wang Guihua launched herself into the air with a flying kick, sending Su Jintao sprawling to the ground. ”You perverted maniac! I’ll avenge Zheng Monalisa today and kill you right where you stand!”

As she spoke, she snatched a kettle of boiling water from nearby and advanced on him.

When Su Jintao saw that Wang Guihua was about to scald him, he cried out in fear, ”Principal, don’t! Don’t burn me! I’ll tell you an even bigger secret right now!”

Hearing the mention of a secret, Zhao Rong, who was in the middle of refining an elixir, called out to Wang Guihua, ”Principal Wang, hold on! Show him a little mercy and let him spill this so-called biggest secret of his.”

At Zhao Rong’s words, Wang Guihua lowered the kettle she was holding and pointed at Su Jintao. ”Talk. Fast. If I think this secret is useful, I might spare you. But if I find it worthless, I’ll disfigure you with this boiling water right now. Let’s see you pursue any more beautiful women after that.”

”I’ll confess! I’ll tell you everything!” Su Jintao said in terror. He then added, ”I know where the Rainy Night Killer is hiding in our school.”

Zhao Rong was stunned. ”You’ve survived for three years in a women’s university as a man without being killed. That must mean you have some kind of leverage over the Rainy Night Killer, which is why he hasn’t dared to touch you. Am I right?”

Su Jintao stammered, ”You don’t understand. When I first came to the university, I refused to dress as a woman and insisted on living as a man. Because of that, the Rainy Night Killer caught me on my very first night and held a knife to my throat.”

”If he already had you with a knife to your throat, why didn’t he kill you?” Zhao Rong asked in surprise.

Su Jintao gritted his teeth. ”Because he and my father were classmates. When I was a little boy, I even called him Uncle.”

Listening to him, Wang Guihua scoffed in disbelief. ”According to our reliable intelligence, the Rainy Night Killer appears to be a young man of eighteen or nineteen, not the ’uncle’ you’re describing.”

”Principal Wang, Zhao Rong, you don’t know the whole story,” Su Jintao argued. ”The reason the Rainy Night Killer remains eternally youthful is that he refines a special youth-preserving beauty elixir after every murder. Consuming this elixir ensures his appearance stays young forever, never aging.”

Zhao Rong looked at Su Jintao thoughtfully. ”If the Rainy Night Killer was your father’s classmate, then your father must have known a lot about him.”

With that, Zhao Rong was about to suggest finding Su Jintao’s father to learn more about the killer. To his surprise, Su Jintao said, ”My father died two years ago. According to the people around him, he was killed on a rainy night by a masked person wielding a sickle.”

Hearing about a rainy night, a mask, and a sickle, Wang Guihua immediately thought of the infamous killer. ”Su Jintao, why did the Rainy Night Killer kill your father?” she demanded.

”Because my father knew everything about him,” Su Jintao said through gritted teeth. ”He killed my father to silence him.”

”If he killed your father, why wouldn’t he dare to kill you?” Zhao Rong pressed.

”Because before he died, my father stored all the information on the Rainy Night Killer inside a special mechanism,” Su Jintao explained. ”He designed it as a fail-safe. If the Rainy Night Killer ever kills me, the mechanism will automatically release all that information and broadcast it over the internet to Interpol.”

”We understand,” Zhao Rong said, the pieces falling into place. ”But you just said you know where the Rainy Night Killer is. Take us to him now. If he’s asleep at this hour, we can arrest him and hand him over to Interpol.”

Su Jintao started to bargain. ”If I lead you to the Rainy Night Killer, you have to promise to let me go.”

Just then, Zhao Rong finished preparing the elixir to save Zheng Monalisa. As he carefully fed the pill to her, he said to Su Jintao, ”You injected Zheng Monalisa with a poison that turned her into a soulless puppet. But the elixir I’ve just concocted can revive her without any lasting side effects. So, as long as you take us to the Rainy Night Killer, we can promise to let you go.”

Hearing Zhao Rong agree to spare him, Su Jintao scrambled to his feet. He pointed to a lit room in the other girls’ dormitory building, across from theirs. ”The Rainy Night Killer is over there, in Room 504 of that dormitory.”

Zhao Rong followed his finger and looked at the building opposite them. To his astonishment, the building Su Jintao was pointing at was the very one he lived in. And Room 504, the lit room where the killer supposedly resided, was the dorm shared by Miss Lili, the beautiful Yu Lan, and the lovely Xuelian—the three women from his own team.

Zhao Rong strode forward, grabbed Su Jintao by the collar, and snarled, ”You’re lying! That’s the room of three new students at our school. How could it possibly be the Rainy Night Killer’s room?”

Seeing Zhao Rong’s disbelief, Su Jintao quickly pulled out his phone, opened his photo album, and showed him a picture. ”Look at this photo. I took it from my balcony one day.”

When Zhao Rong took the phone, he was shocked. The picture showed the balcony of Room 504, and on it stood a man in pajamas, wearing a mask and holding a scythe, hanging up his laundry.

Zhao Rong immediately forwarded the photo to Principal Wang Guihua, asking her for confirmation. Was this the legendary Rainy Night Killer?

When Wang Guihua saw the picture, she declared without a doubt, ”That’s right. This person is the legendary Rainy Night Killer.”

Hearing this confirmed, Zhao Rong’s heart leaped into his throat. ”If Room 504 is the Rainy Night Killer’s room,” he said in disbelief, ”then why did the counselor assign the three of them to stay there? They’ve been living in his room for two days now! What if he comes back in the middle of the night? Their lives would be in grave danger!”

Before Zhao Rong could finish, he suddenly realized something far more alarming. Based on the three women’s routines, they should have been asleep hours ago. Why were the lights in their room still on?

Just as Zhao Rong was about to use Instant Teleportation to rush over to Room 504 and investigate, Zheng Monalisa, who had been unconscious for nearly half a year, began to stir.

Upon awakening, her eyes fell upon Su Jintao not far away, and terror gripped her heart. ”That man,” she stammered, ”he’s the Rainy Night Killer...”

When Zhao Rong heard Zheng Monalisa identify Su Jintao as the killer, he immediately became more alert. Pointing at Su Jintao, who was still squatting by the door, he asked her again, ”Are you sure? This man right here is the Rainy Night Killer?”

Zheng Monalisa sat up, the deathly pallor of her face giving way to a healthy, rosy color. With terror still etched on her features, she said, ”I’d recognize him even if he were burned to ashes.”

With that, Zheng Monalisa began to tell Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua what had happened to her that night.

After registering at the school, she had unexpectedly gotten her period one night and realized she had no sanitary pads. So, she left the dormitory to find a supermarket on campus. However, being new and unfamiliar with the grounds, she got lost in the dark and wandered into the small woods behind the school’s sports field.

Just then, a light rain began to fall. Without an umbrella, she gave up on buying the pads and started heading back to her dorm. But as she reached the edge of the sports field, a man approached and held an umbrella over her, shielding her from the rain.

She was grateful at first, but when she looked up, she saw that the man was wearing a mask, a raincoat, and holding a scythe. She was instantly terrified and tried to run. Before applying to this university, she had heard about its serial killer, the Rainy Night Killer. The only reason she came was that the tuition was cheap and they had offered her a scholarship.

As she fled, she suddenly felt a dart pierce her buttock. A moment after the sharp prick, an overwhelming dizziness washed over her. Then, everything went black.

When Zheng Monalisa came to again, she found Su Jintao on top of her, violating her. She resisted with all her might, but he suddenly produced a syringe and injected a substance into her vein. In an instant, she went from a vibrant young woman to a soulless puppet in a vegetative state. After that, she knew nothing more.

Hearing Zheng Monalisa’s accusation, Zhao Rong and Wang Guihua immediately advanced on Su Jintao, preparing to interrogate him brutally to force out the truth.
