Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

By the time Zhao Rong and his group of six arrived at the Women’s University, it was already evening. As night fell, they walked onto campus.

In front of the dormitory building, Zhao Rong, Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, and his assistant bid farewell to President Wang Guihua.

”President, it’s getting late,” Zhao Rong said. ”We’ll head back to our dorm to rest.”

Wang Guihua nodded with a smile. ”This trip to the crematorium showed me the abilities each of you possess. Honestly, for our Women’s University to have such talented people is a true blessing.”

Hearing the president’s praise, Zhao Rong nodded modestly. ”We don’t really have any special abilities. We were just lucky.”

After that, Zhao Rong’s group said their goodbyes to President Wang Guihua. However, just as they reached the entrance of their dormitory, Wang Guihua suddenly called out, ”Everyone else can go up. Zhao Rong, please stay for a moment.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong paused in surprise. He turned to look at her and asked, ”President, what is it?”

Wang Guihua gave him a captivating smile. ”Come here, I need to talk to you about something private.”

Hearing that she wanted to speak with him alone, Zhao Rong sent Lili, Yu Lan, Xuelian, and his assistant upstairs first. Once the women were gone, he walked over to Wang Guihua with a smile.

”What’s the private matter?” he asked.

Wang Guihua’s gaze deepened with emotion as she looked at him. ”Are you free tonight? I’d like to ask you out.”

Hearing the beautiful woman before him ask him out, Zhao Rong was overjoyed. He nodded frantically and replied, ”Of course, I have time! Just tell me where.”

Wang Guihua pointed to a nearby café. ”How about the one at the school’s entrance?”

Zhao Rong nodded. ”Good spot. What time?”

Wang Guihua took out her phone to check the time. ”One o’clock in the morning. How does that sound?”

One o’clock in the morning? A beautiful woman is asking me out for coffee? In the dead of night, just the two of us... Could she possibly want to... with me? Zhao Rong thought.

A beaming smile spread across his face. ”Perfect. One o’clock this morning. I’ll be there.”

Hearing Zhao Rong accept her invitation, Wang Guihua immediately threw her arms around him in delight. ”It’s been over twenty years, and this is the first time I’ve met a man who makes my heart flutter.”

Zhao Rong was surprised to hear he was the first man to move her in over two decades, but he also felt a thrill of excitement. He remembered his mission, assigned by the chairman, was to come to the Women’s University, pursue Wang Guihua, and win her over.

The reason for this mission was that her father, the chairman of a major corporation, had grown concerned. His daughter was in her twenties but had never been in a relationship or even had a boyfriend. He began to suspect that she either wasn’t interested in men or that her orientation was the issue. Thus, he wanted to send a man to test his daughter and verify his suspicions.

So, Wang Guihua’s father approached his good friend, who was also one of the top billionaires in Xijing City—the chairman. He asked him to find a suitable candidate to fulfill this wish. The chairman immediately thought of his daughter’s superb bodyguard, Zhao Rong. Zhao Rong had already successfully completed every difficult task the chairman had ever assigned him, so the chairman felt that only Zhao Rong could be fully trusted. Furthermore, only Zhao Rong could brilliantly execute such an unconventional job.

And so, after Zhao Rong arrived at the Women’s University, he had gotten slightly delayed in getting to know and pursue Wang Guihua due to a series of bizarre incidents. However, it now seemed his mission was proceeding smoothly nonetheless.

At the very least, before Zhao Rong had even made his move, Wang Guihua had already taken the initiative to ask him out. And she had told him he was the first man to make her heart stir in over twenty years.

Zhao Rong looked at Wang Guihua happily. ”I’m incredibly happy to be the first man to move your heart in over twenty years.”

After he spoke, he couldn’t help but ask himself: I’m not particularly tall or handsome. I don’t have a domineering personality or any special talent for wooing women. How did a peerless beauty like Wang Guihua fall for me?

As Zhao Rong was pondering this, Wang Guihua gazed at him with tender eyes. ”Zhao Rong, do you know why I haven’t felt a spark for any man in over twenty years? Why I’ve never dated or had a boyfriend?”

Hearing that she had gone more than two decades without a relationship, Zhao Rong thought: Holy crap, women like her are a rare breed these days! If this stunning beauty has never been in a relationship, that must mean she’s still a...

An inexplicable fondness for her bloomed in his heart. ”Wang Guihua,” he asked, ”how could a woman as beautiful as you go over twenty years without ever having a boyfriend?”

Wang Guihua sighed. ”My father is one of this city’s biggest tycoons, so I’ve lived a sheltered life since I was a child. It’s always been extremely difficult for me to experience the outside world. The boys around me were either the sons of tycoons or powerful officials, or they were just spoiled playboys. Those boys have no real ability of their own. They just spend their fathers’ money, enjoy their fathers’ power, and act arrogant and domineering.”

Listening to her, Zhao Rong immediately understood. ”I get it, Wang Guihua,” he said with a knowing look. ”Even though you come from an incredibly wealthy family, you look down on those men who are born with a silver spoon.”

Wang Guihua nodded. ”You’re right. I don’t like people who think they’re hot stuff just because of who their father is. I prefer a man who is capable in his own right and has a real masculine spirit.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong nodded. ”And there’s no one like that around you?”

She shook her head in distress. ”Zhao Rong, believe it or not, there really isn’t.”

With that, Wang Guihua suddenly grabbed his hand, her crystalline eyes fixed on him. ”Zhao Rong, to be honest, you are the perfect man in my eyes. You are not only intelligent and resourceful, but you are also a proven fighter. Plus, from what the other women told me, you started at the very bottom of society. But through your own hard work and tireless struggle, you were self-reliant, building yourself up step by step, fighting your way to become a man worth hundreds of millions.

”On top of that, you are incredibly capable, with a brilliant mind for making money and long-term vision. But you’re also a man of noble character, always willing to help others and fight for justice.”

As Zhao Rong listened to her praise, he felt that she truly understood him. Still, he said modestly, ”Wang Guihua, you flatter me. I’m not as outstanding as you think. I’ve just been a little luckier than most people.”

Wang Guihua looked at him with admiration. ”Even good luck is a part of a person’s destiny. So, I believe you must be my destiny.”

I came to the Women’s University specifically to pursue her, but from the looks of it, I don’t have to pursue her at all. She’s the one taking the initiative and pursuing me, Zhao Rong thought. He felt like his mission was on the verge of completion.

So, Zhao Rong decided to confess directly. ”Wang Guihua, since you’ve taken a liking to me, and I quite like you too… why don’t you be my girlfriend?”

Hearing his confession, Wang Guihua suddenly hesitated.

When Zhao Rong saw her hesitation, he asked in confusion, ”A moment ago, you were praising me like I was some kind of god. Why won’t you accept my confession now?”

Wang Guihua thought for a moment before replying, ”Because I am the president of the Women’s University. If we started dating, we would surely be ridiculed by the students and teachers.”

Zhao Rong saw her point. ”Then you could temporarily step down as president and become a student again,” he suggested. ”That way, we could date openly, whenever and however we want.”

Suddenly, her eyes filled with tears. ”But when I took this position, the board of directors made it very clear. If I want to step down as president, I first have to complete several tasks they assigned me. Only then can I become a student again.”

Listening to her words, Zhao Rong was completely baffled.

Could it be that no one wants to be the president of this university? Is that why they pushed Wang Guihua into the role? It seems this university must have several thorny problems that need a president to handle. But these problems must be too difficult for an ordinary person to solve. So, they used Wang Guihua as a scapegoat, pushed her into the president’s office, and forced her to confront these incredibly difficult issues.

Thinking of this, Zhao Rong asked her, ”The board assigned you problems that must be solved. Tell me what they are, and I’ll help you.”

Seeing his eager expression, Wang Guihua considered for a moment before slowly explaining, ”Ever since I became president, the board has assigned me at least three extremely difficult problems that must be solved.”

”What are the three problems?” Zhao Rong asked curiously. ”Tell me now, and I’ll solve them for you right away.”

Wang Guihua frowned, as if the difficulty was overwhelming. ”The first problem is that I must find the Rainy Night Killer. I also have to find all the students who have disappeared. Even if they’re dead, their bodies or bones must be found.”

Hearing the first problem, Zhao Rong didn’t think it sounded too difficult. Since arriving at the university, he had developed a keen interest in this rampant Rainy Night Killer. He had already resolved to bring the criminal to justice and rescue the missing students.

However, when Zhao Rong heard the second problem Wang Guihua had to solve, a cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and he was left utterly dumbfounded.

He never imagined that the second problem would be…
