Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

When Zhao Rong donned the ghost catcher’s robe from Zhongnan Mountain, he immediately felt a magical sensation. This feeling, how to describe it, was as if a voluptuous beauty were embracing him.

Just as Zhao Rong had the robe on and was closing his eyes to enjoy the moment, the chairman beside him gave him a push. ”Does wearing this robe feel that good? It seems like you’ve reached a... climax?”

Suddenly, Zhao Rong snapped out of his illusion. He looked at the chairman and said, ”You know, the moment I put on this robe, I felt a rush of pleasure.”

Hearing this, the chairman said happily, ”Since the robe makes you feel good, then wear it. You will enter the Ghost Hunting Academy as a ghost-catching youth from Zhongnan Mountain. You are to protect my daughter while completing a mission.”

Hearing the word ”mission,” Zhao Rong looked at the chairman, puzzled. ”Chairman, didn’t you just say I only had to protect your daughter? Why is there another mission?”

Seeing Zhao Rong’s surprised expression, the chairman laughed. He snapped his fingers at his female secretary, Sui, and said, ”Explain the details of the mission to him.”

At his command, Sui walked toward Zhao Rong, clad in high heels, black stockings, and a low-cut secretary’s uniform. As she opened her LV bag and took out a check, she explained, ”The chairman wants to acquire the Ghost Hunting Academy and incorporate it into Hongda Company. However, the president of the Ghost Hunting Academy not only disagrees but has also threatened the chairman. He said that if the chairman tries to forcibly acquire the academy, he’ll send a malevolent ghost to kill him.

”So, your mission is to infiltrate the top management of the Ghost Hunting Academy, replace the current president to become the new one, and then cooperate with the chairman to complete the acquisition...”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong scratched the back of his head and frowned. ”Chairman, I feel that having me, a complete layman, catch ghosts is already pushing my limits. Now you’re asking me to replace the president of the Ghost Hunting Academy? That seems a bit too difficult.”

Seeing Zhao Rong’s hesitation, the chairman gave his female secretary a meaningful glance.

The secretary immediately handed the check to Zhao Rong, saying, ”This ten-million-US-dollar check is your startup capital. Once you complete the mission, another ten million euros will be transferred directly into your account.”

When Zhao Rong saw the ten-million-dollar check and thought about the ten million euros he would receive upon completion, a thought sparked in his mind.

Ever since I was young, I’ve dreamed of establishing a charity to help disabled people, children, and the poor... If I could get this huge sum of money, my dream might finally become a reality.

Steeling his nerves, Zhao Rong said, ”Alright, I’ll give it a try.”

Seeing Zhao Rong accept the mission, the female secretary turned to the chairman and whispered, ”It’s true what they say: money makes the world go round.”

As Zhao Rong took the check, he muttered to himself, ”Once I get this money, I’ll immediately establish a charity. I’ll provide warm homes for those who roam the streets with nowhere to go, and I’ll make sure the elderly who have lost their children and have no one to care for them are looked after...”

Hearing that Zhao Rong wanted to establish a charity, the female secretary lowered her head in shame. ”It turns out Zhao Rong is so compassionate. I completely misunderstood him. I’m so ashamed.”

The chairman also gave Zhao Rong a thumbs-up. ”Young man, you are brimming with positive energy. Your idea has moved me, so I’m doubling this amount for you.”

As he spoke, the chairman took out another check for ten million US dollars and handed it to Zhao Rong. ”Zhao Rong, I support your charity.”

That evening, Zhao Rong went to find Wang Meili to say his goodbyes. The Daoist robe was surprisingly comfortable, so he kept it on as he headed to her dormitory.

Night had fallen, and the campus was dark. Zhao Rong left the principal’s office and walked across the athletic field toward Wang Meili’s dorm. At that moment, a couple was hiding in the most secluded corner of the field.

The man, embracing the woman, said impatiently, ”Honey, I can’t wait anymore. Let’s just do it here...”

The woman glanced around nervously. ”Honey, let’s just go to a motel off campus and get a room.”

Hearing about getting a room, the man grumbled, ”We get a room at a motel off campus all the time. I’m tired of it. I want something more thrilling...”

Wanting to please her boyfriend, the woman could only relent. She nodded and said, ”Alright then, but be quick. It’ll be horrible if someone passing by sees us.”

Just as the young couple was about to get started, Zhao Rong happened to pass by in his robe.

Suddenly, a woman’s voice whispered in his ear, ”My, women in the 21st century are so open-minded. Much more so than us women from the 7th century.”

Zhao Rong casually replied aloud, ”The 7th century? Wouldn’t that be around 618 AD, during the Tang Dynasty?”

”Exactly,” the woman’s voice said. ”Even during the prosperous Tang Dynasty, we weren’t this open. How did the 21st century become so liberated?”

Suddenly, Zhao Rong realized something was wrong. He stopped and spun around, utterly bewildered. ”Who’s talking to me?”

The woman laughed gently. ”I am.”

Zhao Rong looked at the sky, then at the ground, then all around him. A terrifying thought struck him. ”Oh, come on! I haven’t even made it to the Ghost Hunting Academy and I’m already running into ghosts?”

As Zhao Rong stood there muttering to himself, the couple that had been preparing to get intimate in the darkness emerged from their corner.

The man pointed a shaky finger at Zhao Rong and cursed, ”Can’t I have a little fun with my girlfriend in a dark corner without being interrupted?”

Seeing the disheveled, shameless couple emerge, Zhao Rong looked them up and down. ”Were you two just talking?”

The man shook his head. ”We were in the middle of foreplay, no time for talking! If you hadn’t shown up, standing there like you were possessed, we’d already be getting it on by now!”

The woman also pointed an accusatory finger at Zhao Rong. ”Talk about bad luck! I was just about to give my boyfriend a little thrill, and your sudden appearance ruined everything! You owe us for emotional distress...”

Hearing that it wasn’t the couple in front of him, Zhao Rong was baffled.

That’s odd. If it wasn’t these two students trying to hook up, then who was it? Who was talking right next to my ear?

As Zhao Rong was lost in thought, the male student eyed him.

This guy looks so dazed. He must be easy to bully. I should try to extort some money from him. That way, we’ll have enough to get a room again.

With a sly grin, the male student grabbed Zhao Rong by the collar. ”Hey, kid! My girlfriend and I were just about to get down to business when you popped up. You scared me so bad that I finished early, and now I can’t even get it up! You have to compensate me for my emotional distress...”

The woman also stepped forward, tugging on Zhao Rong’s robe. ”I already have issues with excess discharge, and you scared me so bad it got even worse! You have to pay my medical bills.”

Just then, the woman’s voice spoke again, close to Zhao Rong’s ear. ”These two are absolutely shameless. Even I can’t stand to watch this. How are you just taking it?”

Hearing the voice again, Zhao Rong looked at the two students. ”Are you two positive you weren’t talking to me?”

At this, the man shoved Zhao Rong. ”Kid, cut the crap. Don’t think you can scare me just by wearing a costume. Let me tell you, I’ve been brave my whole life. I’m not afraid of ghosts. Even if a real ghost stood right in front of me, I wouldn’t be scared.”

The woman kicked Zhao Rong’s leg. ”I’d sooner believe a man’s sweet lies than believe in ghosts. Don’t try to scare me, kid. I’m not afraid of ghosts at all.”

At that moment, the voice whispered in Zhao Rong’s ear again. ”Since these two aren’t afraid of ghosts, I’ll come out and let them meet me. We’ll see if they’re really not afraid.”

Suddenly, a female ghost appeared before the couple. She had long hair obscuring her face, wore a white dress, and was hanging in mid-air.

The man saw her first. He jolted in terror and fell flat on his butt, screaming, ”A ghost! There’s a real ghost! Help! Help me...!” With that, the man scrambled to his feet, wet himself, and fled for his life.

Only after the man had bolted did the woman see the ghost. Her reaction was even more extreme. She let out a piercing shriek and fainted on the spot.

Always slow on the uptake, Zhao Rong only saw the ghost suspended in mid-air after the man had already fled in terror and the woman had fainted dead away.

Zhao Rong jumped in fright himself. He stumbled back a step and reflexively struck a pose. ”I, Zhao Rong, am a great ghost catcher! If you don’t want to perish, you had better reincarnate at once! Otherwise, this old Daoist won’t be merciful!”

The ghost floating in the air slowly descended. When she was standing right in front of Zhao Rong, she spoke. ”Master, I am your ghost. Are you afraid of me?”

Hearing the ghost call him ”Master,” Zhao Rong swallowed hard. ”Ghost, don’t even think about taking advantage of me. My tastes aren’t that... heavy.”

After speaking, he suddenly thought of his assistant. He looked at the ghost and said, ”If you’re in the mood for... ’that,’ I can introduce you to a man with exotic tastes.”

Hearing this, the ghost swept her hair away from her face, revealing her delicate features. She then took off her white gown, her attire changing into the clothes of the Tang Dynasty. ”Master, I am a ghost bound to this robe,” she said. ”Whoever wears it becomes my master.”

Realizing he had inexplicably become this ghost’s master, Zhao Rong didn’t know whether he was lucky or cursed. ”Where are you from? How did you die? Do you have some lingering resentment? Why haven’t you reincarnated?”

The ghost smiled, revealing red lips and pearly teeth. ”I am from the Tang Dynasty. My home was in Chang’an.”

Hearing that the ghost before him was from nearly a thousand years ago, Zhao Rong gasped. ”Whoa, you’ve been around for a thousand years and still haven’t reincarnated? You must be on the verge of becoming a vengeful spirit!”

At this, the ghost’s expression turned sorrowful. ”The man who murdered my husband is still at large. I cannot reincarnate until he is gone.”

Listening to the ghost speak of a thousand-year-old injustice, Zhao Rong said, ”Come on, let it go. The statute of limitations on a case expires after a hundred years, let alone a thousand. You should let go of your grudge and go reincarnate peacefully.”

The ghost shook her head. ”But this robe you’re wearing has been cursed. Whoever wears it is fated to avenge me...”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong felt like crying. ”Damn it! I only put on this robe because it was comfortable, fit well, and frankly, looked cool. Who knew I’d get myself into this kind of mess?”
