Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

He watched Tao Hua walking toward him and said hurriedly, ”Good, the sauna room is over there. Let’s go now and continue our training.”

Tao Hua looked at the just-awakened Zhao Rong with admiration. ”Zhao Rong, your physique is incredible! You actually managed to fall asleep in the Small Ice Lake. You’re like a god.”

After she finished speaking, Tao Hua thought, An ordinary person couldn’t even fall asleep in the Small Ice Lake. Just ten minutes in there would probably be enough to freeze them stiff. Yet, Zhao Rong actually managed to stay in the Small Ice Lake for several hours!

Giving Zhao Rong a thumbs-up, Tao Hua asked, ”Zhao Rong, how many hours did you train in this Small Ice Lake?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong hurried out of the Small Ice Lake. He touched his warm body and said, ”About three and a half hours.”

Tao Hua was stunned to hear that Zhao Rong had stayed in the Small Ice Lake for three and a half hours. Awestruck, she said, ”Zhao Rong, I actually wanted to bring you to this Small Ice Lake to train in the first place. I was just worried the icy water would be too cold for you to handle, which is why I took you to the Big Ice Lake instead. I never expected your endurance to be this strong...”

Listening to Tao Hua, Zhao Rong dipped his foot into the Small Ice Lake to test the temperature and found that the water was still warm.

He then pretended to be freezing and said, ”Tao Hua, you have no idea how low the temperature in this Small Ice Lake is. It almost froze me solid! But my willpower is just that strong, so fortunately, I managed to persevere.”

As he finished speaking, Zhao Rong thought with a private chuckle, It’s a good thing Tao Hua doesn’t know I used my Resolute Fire to heat the water in the Small Ice Lake while I was refining medicine. Otherwise, she’d definitely kill me.

But before Zhao Rong could finish his thought, Tao Hua suddenly reached out and touched him. As she did, she thought, If the water in the Small Ice Lake is bone-chillingly cold, then Zhao Rong’s body must be completely chilled, maybe even below freezing.

However, when Tao Hua’s hand touched Zhao Rong’s skin, she was astonished. She looked at him and said, ”Zhao Rong, that’s not right. After training in such a bone-chillingly cold lake, your body should be freezing too. Why are you not only not cold, but actually quite warm?”

Seeing that Tao Hua seemed to be onto him, Zhao Rong was afraid of being exposed and quickly blurted out an excuse. ”Tao Hua, do you think I might have leveled up after training in the Small Ice Lake for half the night?”

As soon as he said it, Zhao Rong felt a wave of nervousness.

When Tao Hua heard him suggest that he might have leveled up, she immediately took out an upgrade detector. ”Zhao Rong,” she said, ”whether you’ve leveled up or not, we can use this detector to find out for sure.”

As she spoke, she aimed the upgrade detector at him.

Zhao Rong was stunned to see that Tao Hua carried an upgrade detector with her. He thought, It’s over. She’s definitely going to expose my lie. I might as well prepare to be chewed out, or even beaten, when she finds out I didn’t level up.

But just as Zhao Rong was bracing himself to be scolded and beaten, Tao Hua stared at the upgrade detector and exclaimed in surprise, ”Zhao Rong, this is impossible! How could you have leveled up so many times in just half a night...?”
