Peerless Bodyguard of a Stunning Beauty

Chapter 201: Chapter 173: Both the Heart and the Courage of a Thief

After Zhao Rong purchased the herbs, he hurried back to the school dormitory.

Suddenly, Wang Meili stopped as if she had just remembered something. ”Oh no! I just had my assistant buy Aliona a pizza, but I forgot to tell him to bring some pizza sauce! Foreigners aren’t like us; they can’t stand eating pizza without a dipping sauce.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong asked confusedly, ”What are you talking about? You told the assistant we have a foreign girl in our dorm?”

”Of course,” Wang Meili said with a nod. ”Otherwise, who would buy Aliona food?”

When Zhao Rong heard that she had told the assistant, he immediately grew worried. ”Meili, how could you tell the assistant there’s a beautiful woman in my dorm? You don’t know that guy! He’s audaciously lecherous. He’s capable of anything when he sees a pretty girl. You should have asked the dorm security to buy her the pizza instead.”

”But I saw the two security guards in your dorm leering at Aliona,” Wang Meili retorted. ”I was afraid they’d take the opportunity to drug her food.”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong explained, ”Meili, you don’t understand. Security Guard Xiao Wang might look lecherous, but he’s all bark and no bite. At most, he’ll hide under his covers at night, put on his headphones to watch a movie, and then... you know. He wouldn’t dare do anything in reality. As for Security Guard Xiao Liu, his eyes light up when he sees a beautiful woman, but it’s all theoretical for him. If you actually asked him to pursue a woman, he wouldn’t have the guts. The assistant, though... he’s different. He has both the nerve and the will to act on his impulses.”

Wang Meili was instantly terrified. ”Zhao Rong, we have to hurry back! If the assistant forces himself on Aliona... it’ll be a disaster!”

With that, the two of them raced back to the dorm.

When they arrived, they were greeted by a shocking sight. The assistant was squatting sullenly in a corner, sporting two panda eyes. Security Guard Xiao Wang was curled up by the door, his nose bleeding profusely. Security Guard Xiao Liu, who had lost a tooth, was sitting on a stool in front of the sink.

Seeing the scene before him, Zhao Rong looked at Aliona in shock and asked, ”Aliona, did these three animals try to... force themselves on you? Did you beat them up?”

Wang Meili was equally stunned. ”Aliona, did the assistant try to force himself on you? And the two security guards fought him to protect you?”

Seeing Zhao Rong and Wang Meili, Aliona sat up in bed, looking just as confused as they were. ”I have no idea what happened. One of them was pouring me hot water, another was making me brown sugar water, and the third brought me flowers and a pizza. Then, they just started fighting, and the next thing I knew, they were all bruised and swollen...”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Rong instantly understood. He laughed and said, ”It’s a classic case of ’too many cooks spoil the broth’.”

Wang Meili, also amazed, asked, ”Wait, are all three of you into Aliona?”

Just then, Aliona’s menstrual cramps intensified. She suddenly clutched her stomach and collapsed back onto the bed, her face contorted in pain.

Seeing Aliona’s discomfort, Zhao Rong immediately took the herbs from his pocket and began to concoct a remedy right there in the dorm. He retrieved a pressure cooker from his Magic Ring, tossed all the herbs inside, and then summoned the Yi Fire from the ring. Using the True Qi from his palms to control the Yi Fire’s intensity, he began refining the medicine in front of everyone.

Even though he was only concocting a remedy for menstrual cramps, Zhao Rong hadn’t refined medicine in a long time, and he felt a distinct rustiness as he began. Controlling the Yi Fire between his palms, he struggled to refine the Elixir. Ten minutes passed, then twenty, then half an hour. Large beads of sweat trickled down his forehead. Refining medicine was physically demanding, mentally exhausting, and a true test of endurance, but Zhao Rong persisted, determined to cure Aliona’s pain.

Finally, after an hour, he succeeded. Zhao Rong retrieved a single, blood-red Elixir from the pressure cooker and said with a proud sense of accomplishment, ”That wasn’t easy, but I finally managed it.”

With that, Zhao Rong handed the Elixir to Wang Meili. ”Have your roommate Aliona take this with warm water. Her cramps will stop immediately.”

A beaming Wang Meili took the Elixir and brought it to Aliona’s bedside. ”Aliona, Zhao Rong is a true Divine Doctor! I was in a coma for years and couldn’t wake up, and it was an Elixir he made with his pressure cooker that saved me.”

Although Wang Meili was desperate for her suffering roommate to take the Elixir, Aliona eyed the blood-red pill with skepticism. ”This isn’t scientific,” she said, shaking her head. ”We Westerners believe in science. This thing... it has no molecular formula, no scientific basis. It’s just some herbs boiled in water based on an ancient book. How can it possibly cure cramps that even doctors in Europe couldn’t fix?”

Seeing Aliona’s distrust, the assistant with the black eyes stood up from his corner and fanned the flames. ”Aliona, since you don’t want to take the Elixir Zhao Rong made, I’ll take you to a clinic outside. I can find a doctor to check on you and prescribe some Western medicine. That will definitely cure your dysmenorrhea.”

Why not take this opportunity to get Aliona out of here? Maybe something romantic could happen, the assistant thought.

Emboldened, the assistant stepped forward, grabbed Aliona’s hand, and tried to pull her out of the room. Seeing his audacious move, Zhao Rong immediately stepped in to stop him.

However, just as Zhao Rong moved to intervene, the assistant flinched and stumbled backward, landing squarely on Aliona’s foot. She cried out in pain, her mouth flying open. At that exact moment, Wang Meili’s hand slipped, and the Elixir she was holding dropped right into Aliona’s open mouth.

Before she could react, Aliona reflexively swallowed the Elixir. Realizing what had just happened, she stood up, drank a glass of water, and sighed. ”Forget it. A medicine made without any scientific method is bound to have no effect anyway. I might as well give up on treatment.”

”Aliona, don’t give up on treatment!” the assistant chimed in. ”I know a great clinic in the urban village near the school, just across from the Love Affair Guesthouse. The doctor there is amazing. He can definitely give you an abortion... oh! I mean, cure your dysmenorrhea.”

Zhao Rong immediately stepped forward and confronted him. ”Assistant, why that specific clinic, the one opposite the Love Affair Guesthouse? Everyone knows that guesthouse offers... special rooms. I think it’s clear your intentions have nothing to do with her getting medical treatment.”

”Zhao Rong, I’m just trying to take Aliona to a doctor! Stop spouting nonsense!” the assistant argued defensively. ”Besides, she already took your Elixir and nothing happened. Rather than letting her die of pain here, it would be better for me to take her to the Love Affair Guesthouse and get a room by the hour—I mean, take her to the clinic opposite the guesthouse for treatment!”

But before the assistant could finish, Aliona suddenly clutched her stomach and let out a scream.

Hearing her scream, the assistant shot a triumphant look at Zhao Rong. ”See? I told you so! Your precious Elixir doesn’t work on foreigners. Now let me take her to a real clinic!”

I’ve never been with a foreign girl before, he thought, chuckling inwardly. Looks like tonight’s my lucky night.

But just as the assistant was gloating, Aliona turned to Zhao Rong, her eyes wide with amazement. ”Mister, you’re a true Divine Doctor! My chronic dysmenorrhea... it’s been incurable for years, but you just cured it! You have no idea, my cramps are usually so painful I have to take painkillers. Since you’ve helped me so much, I have to repay you. Name anything you want. I’ll do it.”

Seeing that his Elixir had actually cured Aliona’s chronic condition, Zhao Rong was so overjoyed he could have danced. But when he heard her offer to fulfill any request, he looked at her intently. ”You mean... you’ll do *any* condition I propose?”

With her pain gone, a genuine smile finally returned to Aliona’s face. ”Of course. I’m a woman of my word.”

Zhao Rong took a sharp breath and asked again, just to be sure, ”Really... anything?”

Aliona nodded again earnestly. ”Anything. Including going to sleep together...”

Hearing this, the assistant became agitated. He looked back and forth between Aliona and Zhao Rong. ”Zhao Rong, you already have so many women! Can’t you just leave Aliona for me?” Then he turned to Aliona, shocked. ”Aliona, how can you be so casual? He just cured your illness. Do you really have to sleep with him for that?”

In response, Aliona delivered a resounding slap across the assistant’s face. ”I said we should go *eat dumplings* together, not *sleep together*! You’d better clean out your ears and listen properly!” She then let out a sigh. ”Chinese is so hard to learn. One little change in tone, and the whole meaning is different.”

Hearing that the offer was for dumplings and not sleeping, Zhao Rong nearly fainted.

Damn, and here I thought my luck with the ladies was finally turning around, he thought. Guess I was getting ahead of myself.

The assistant, nursing his stinging cheek, said plaintively, ”Aliona, could you please try to be more accurate with your pronunciation in the future? It’s really easy to cause misunderstandings.”

Just as Zhao Rong was feeling disappointed about the mix-up, Aliona started to leave the dorm. On her way out, she leaned in close and whispered in his ear, ”Mister... don’t you Chinese people value subtle hints and homophones? Did you really think my hint wasn’t clear enough?”

Hearing this, Zhao Rong’s eyes lit up.

So there is a chance after all!
