Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1695: Chapter 1689: Paranormal Incident

Li Youyou squinted at Yujiali, suspiciously, ”You didn’t fall asleep at the crucial moment and cooked up such an outrageous excuse just to blow me off, did you?”

Yujiali was really about to cry this time, ”Heaven and earth, I’m truly not lying, I swear, I absolutely didn’t lie. Think about it, if I did fall asleep, then who put those samples inside, and why did the video sample you gave me disappear? Isn’t it strange?”

Yujiali’s question stumped Li Youyou.

She furrowed her brows, unable to provide a more reasonable explanation. After thinking for a moment, her eyes rolled, and she said to Yujiali:

”Your main control room should have surveillance, right? If you didn’t sleep, ask the surveillance room to pull out the video from your room, and we’ll see if you were lying!”

Li Youyou thought that if Yujiali was really lying, she would definitely find various excuses to refuse her suggestion. However, to her surprise, Yujiali hesitated for a moment and then agreed.

Li Youyou was stunned, silently thinking that she might have guessed wrong and that Yujiali might be telling the truth?

After arriving at the surveillance room, Yujiali said a few words of teasing to the Italian guy in the room, and surprisingly, he gave her the green light, agreeing to pull up the video.

As a result, after pulling up the video, not only were Yujiali and Li Youyou shocked, but even the Italian guy was dumbfounded.

”Oh my god! What’s going on?”

Indeed, the footage Yujiali retrieved showed the surveillance situation in their main control room. As it quickly played to about half an hour ago, Yujiali and Feiluo, who had been sitting there, suddenly disappeared in an instant.

That’s right, they vanished. Both of them almost simultaneously disappeared in the room, but other instruments and equipment remained unchanged.

Moreover, Yujiali’s swivel chair suddenly got dragged by something, the mouse was moved, and the screen on the machine she controlled started to shake as if someone was operating it.

”Wait! Here, William, can’t you find a way to zoom in on this footage?!”

Yujiali, sharp-eyed, seemed to notice something and urgently pointed to a frame, shouting.

The Italian hunk named William had already been dumbfounded. Upon hearing Yujiali’s words, he didn’t hesitate, nervously managing to pull up that segment of the video and gradually zooming in on the footage.

”Yes, right here! Zoom in a little more!”

Yujiali pointed at the machine on the console, and after zooming in, although the high-definition image had become slightly blurry, Yujiali clearly saw that somehow a green USB drive was inserted under that computer!

”This USB drive is definitely not mine. I’ve never used such a thing!”

Yujiali said with gritted teeth, her face filled with fear because she couldn’t explain what was happening.

The surveillance footage continued to play quickly, and then the three of them saw with their own eyes that Yujiali’s computer seemed to be controlled by some invisible force. Those samples were dragged into the player one by one; later on, the problematic video Li Youyou sent her was also replaced. The original video files stored backstage were directly smashed and deleted.

Seeing this, Yujiali understood why she couldn’t find that video anywhere; it appeared to have been directly smashed and deleted!

After half an hour passed and the Horizon Unit Special Award winners were announced, the USB drive originally plugged into the computer host disappeared at some unknown time, and Feiluo and Yujiali, who had vanished from the main control room, simultaneously reappeared in their positions as if nothing had happened. Neither of them even changed their sitting posture, seeming not to notice anything unusual.

Seeing this eerie scene in the video, Yujiali’s eyes widened in terror, and Li Youyou and William were collectively speechless.

Li Youyou initially suspected that Yujiali’s main control room might have encountered a hacker attack, but now she couldn’t ask such a foolish question.

Indeed, a hacker attack could remotely control Yujiali’s computer to move and delete files, but how to explain the two people who inexplicably vanished and reappeared in the video?

And the moving chair and the USB drive that appeared and disappeared abruptly—can a hacker do that?

”Yujiali, when you and Feiluo were in the control room, did you notice anything unusual? Like feeling unwell, experiencing strong electricity, hearing strange sounds, or any brain waves?”

The video was played back several times, and the Italian hunk named William’s eyes began to gleam. He looked excitedly at Yujiali and asked with agitation.

Yujiali didn’t know what William meant by this but she thought back and shook her head:

”No, both Feiluo and I didn’t feel anything unusual. I didn’t feel that I disappeared in the control room for that long. In fact, I always felt like I was just in the control room, and during that time, I never left the control room for a moment. I didn’t feel time passed that fast; it felt like half an hour just blanked out.”

The Italian hunk clapped his hands and laughed, ”I’m sure, Yujiali, you and Feiluo must have been abducted by aliens. Maybe they’re using your bodies as specimens to experiment on. They might have implanted some chips in your bodies. I think this is the only explanation; the surveillance on my end wouldn’t go wrong. You guys must have been chosen by aliens!”

Upon hearing William’s words, Yujiali gave him a look as if he were an idiot. After a round of bargaining with William, demanding he delete the video and ensure it wouldn’t be circulated anymore, Yujiali and Li Youyou left the control room.

Neither of them was naive enough to believe such stupid excuses like alien invasions, but they indeed couldn’t find a reasonable explanation because it defied all common logic.

Moreover, the time of the incident coincided precisely with the nominations for the awards proposed by Zheng Lixiang, which was also the time they were planning to take action. Although both knew silently not to talk about what they planned to do, they each harbored suspicion about the event in their hearts.
