Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1677: Chapter 1671: The Show Airs

Sighing deeply, Huo Sining ultimately decided not to inform Mr. Liang via text message about the upcoming marriage.

After hesitating for a while, she temporarily put this idea aside.

The news of Huo Sining and Gu Xu’s marriage spread almost instantly, even online where many ran to Huo Sining’s Weibo for confirmation.

Pressed by the inquiring netizens, Huo Sining playfully explained on Weibo:

Mr. Gu believes that he’s performed well enough, hoping for recognition, so I’ve decided to give him a chance.

With this Weibo post, a crowd of excited fans screamed below. These netizens are more enthusiastic about Huo Sining’s marriage than she is.

On August 6th, the new program “Chinese History” began airing on CCTV’s Channel 10. Prior to this, the promotion of the program started to go full-blast, even Huo Sining unusually advertised on her and the Jade Beauty’s official Weibo.

Many were intrigued upon hearing that this was the program recorded when Huo Sining encountered trouble before.

Channel 10 attached great importance to this program, scheduled directly in the 8 to 9 PM prime time slot. As soon as the program started, He Guolin was with Xiao Ma, Producer Li, and others in the screening room.

Channel 10 is an educational channel. Although it covers the whole country, its ratings are not as high as some local satellite channels. So, while everyone’s expectations for this new program are high, they dared not raise their hopes too much.

The first episode of the program talks about the Shang Zhou Chapter, yet most viewers aren’t very familiar with the history of the Shang Zhou period. Launching a new program with the Shang Zhou Chapter to boost ratings is indeed risky.

However, for a new program, the first episode is crucial. If it can’t make a strong impression, it will be challenging to make a comeback later.

Even He Guolin felt nervous about this, even though he had previewed the edited program, he wasn’t quite sure about the audience’s taste. After all, this young Huo Sining explaining history might not convince the audience.

All TV producers know that today’s market tastes are complex, and no one can predict what kind of program will captivate the audience. Even He Guolin, an experienced veteran working at the TV station for decades, can only make guesses and can’t guarantee a program’s success.

Nevertheless, the show must go on. At eight o’clock, “Chinese History” officially aired. Many people tuned in to the education channel, even the Gu family sat in the living room after dinner to watch.

Huo Sining herself was excitedly sitting in front of the TV, as she hadn’t seen what her program looked like, especially this close-distance filming made her feel novel.

Once the program aired, seeing the Siyang Square Respect and Zeng Hou Yi Bells on stage left everyone speechless.

“Wow, this show is incredible! It really brought a whole set of artifacts!”

“For real? Are those props or genuine antiques?”

“Let me tell you, they’re real! I’m from the place where the Siyang Square Respect is located. We heard last month that people from central government came down to transport the authentic Siyang Square Respect to the Imperial Capital for Olympic promotion.”

“Oh my gosh, this is such a big deal! I’m starting to believe the rumor now, saying Ke Zhenyue broke a genuine artifact from the Warring States Period sabotaging the host. Could this be true?”

“Didn’t you read the CCTV announcement? It was indeed broken, but reportedly repaired urgently, causing no irreparable damage. Otherwise, even if Ke Zhenyue died to atone, it wouldn’t be enough to compensate for his crime.”

“Your focus is really unique. Don’t you find the program’s format and lines novel? I think the host did a great job. Although antiques are profound, with the host’s explanation everything is understandable!”

“Indeed, when I usually visit museums, I can’t understand what those guides say about which antique. But the host’s explanation is very comprehensible and not boring at all!”

“The host speaks so well, very relatable; this program is really good. I’ve decided to watch it every day from now on!”

“Highly recommend! It’s fantastic; I’m going to ask my classmates to watch it too!”

“As a history major, I can attest those little stories from the host indeed have historical records. The program put a lot of effort into every line being accurate, with references; a passing historian here, quite impressed!”

…

As soon as the program aired, many netizens went wild online, showing unprecedented enthusiasm for the new show and praising its performance.

The show was just halfway through when it entered the ad break.

In the viewing room, He Guolin shouted to Xiao Ma, “Xiao Ma, go to the data monitoring room and fetch the ratings!”

Xiao Ma nodded, left immediately without saying a word.

The remaining people, including Producer Li, anxiously watched Xiao Ma’s receding figure, their expressions tense.

Seeing their expressions, He Guolin couldn’t help but smile and ask, “What do you think?”

Producer Li hesitated for a moment, then said, “There shouldn’t be any problem. Miss Huo spoke very well; the content is engaging and insightful. I believe many viewers will like it.”

He Guolin nods at this, “Then what do you estimate about the ratings?”

Producer Li was taken aback, exchanged glances with other staff, and conservatively replied, “Well… 0.5 should be achievable. Even if the first episode doesn’t reach it, later episodes certainly will. I’m confident in this program.”

He Guolin shook his head; a 0.5 figure is far from impressive. If all the promotional efforts lead to a mere 0.5 rating, the station wouldn’t have invested so much to promote this program.

Just as they were chatting, Xiao Ma returned.

“How is it?”

“What’s the index, is it 0.5?”

“Xiao Ma, hurry up!”

Everyone gathered around, pressing for an answer, but Xiao Ma remained silent.

Seeing Xiao Ma’s expression, He Guolin’s heart sank immediately. He felt a pang of dread, and his whole being was uncomfortable.
