Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1657: Chapter 1641: It’s Her or Me

The new director took office, and of course, Ke Zhenyue wanted to show off his authority as the chief director. However, he didn’t expect issues to arise on the very first day of recording when the host guest appointed by the program group was late.

What annoyed him even more was that because of the host’s lateness, the studio he had worked hard to secure was taken by another TV station’s team. They claimed they needed it for two hours, but no one knew when they would actually be done.

As a result, Ke Zhenyue was quite annoyed with Huo Sining and naturally didn’t have a pleasant demeanor toward her. Especially since Huo Sining was quite young, Ke Zhenyue somewhat underestimated her, so he didn’t bother to be polite with his words.

“You young people have no sense of responsibility. It’s bad enough that you lack a concept of time, but you’re also carefree and undisciplined. I really don’t understand why the program group chose you to carry the weight!”

Huo Sining initially thought the delay in recording was her fault due to being late, and she felt an apology was in order.

But this Director Ke’s arrogant and superior attitude thoroughly annoyed Huo Sining.

She wasn’t exactly eager to record this program. It was clearly Channel Ten that begged Han Wen to reach out to her. The program’s director informed her at the last minute, and now they were blaming her for it, which made Huo Sining uncomfortable.

“Director Ke, I received the recording notice today at eight o’clock. I rushed over anxiously in my own car. This is your program’s mistake, and I won’t take the blame for it.”

With that, without even sparing the director a glance, Huo Sining turned to Xu Wei, who was nearby, and said, “Sister Xu Wei, since the studio is occupied, why don’t we go for a walk? I haven’t toured the CCTV Building yet.”

Ke Zhenyue, seeing that Huo Sining completely ignored him, immediately got irritated and said, “What kind of person is this? Xiao Liu, call the station director and say that I said it. This program must find someone else! The current host guest has no organizational discipline at all!”

Saying that, Ke Zhenyue yanked off his jacket and threw it on a nearby chair.

Having been at CCTV for so many years, all those A-list stars who used to come were obedient and followed the directors’ behests. This woman named Huo dared to give him a hard time as soon as she arrived. How could Ke Zhenyue tolerate that?

Seeing the director was angry, Xu Wei panicked and quickly tried to placate him, saying, “Director Ke, don’t be mad. Miss Huo is not from the circle and doesn’t understand our recording process. Please calm down…”

But Ke Zhenyue wasn’t buying it. He pulled out his phone, ready to call the station director.

At that moment, two people walked in from outside. It was Producer Li and Han Wen, whom they had met in the makeup room earlier. The two were chatting and laughing as they walked in, only to find Huo Sining and Ke Zhenyue standing together, both looking displeased.

Being sharp people, Han Wen and Producer Li immediately sensed the tension in the atmosphere.

Producer Li quickly asked, “What’s going on here? Director Ke, weren’t we supposed to be recording the program? Why hasn’t it started yet?”

Ke Zhenyue got even more agitated hearing this and couldn’t help but say, “Our studio was taken, and now we can’t record. We’ll have to wait a few more hours, probably until the afternoon!”

Spread out is furious: “How did this happen? Weren’t we promised the studio?”

Ke Zhenyue sneered, “The studio didn’t have our name on it. Anyone could use it. Our people weren’t all here, the host was late, and when they saw the studio wasn’t in use, they asked to borrow it. You all found such a good host, thanks to her we can take the morning off.”

Producer Li instinctively glanced at Huo Sining and was about to explain, but Ke Zhenyue didn’t want to waste any more words and waved his hand, saying,

“Alright, Xiao Li, I don’t have much else to say. I’m not satisfied with this host, so go liaise with the production group and network people. This person isn’t suitable, replace her with someone else, or else I can’t record this program!”

As soon as these words were out, Producer Li looked at Ke Zhenyue with astonishment, and Han Wen regarded Ke Zhenyue as if he were a fool.

Huo Sining burst into laughter, “Alright, then change me out. I’d be more than happy. Producer Li, I’m not the one refusing to record, it’s your esteemed director who disdains me.”

Saying this, Huo Sining turned her head to Han Wen, “Han Wen, I was talking about wanting to tour the TV station. You’re just in time; why don’t you show me around? I’ve been to the station so many times but never seen the inside of the CCTV Building.”

Han Wen gave Ke Zhenyue a deep look and said with a smile, “Alright, I’ll take you now. Let’s go.”

With that, Han Wen grabbed Huo Sining and walked out of the studio without looking back, while Producer Li anxiously turned to address Ke Zhenyue:

“Director Ke, how can this be? We’ve signed a contract for this show, and Huo Sining is the best choice. You say you don’t want her now, but where will we quickly find someone else to replace her?”

Ke Zhenyue coldly laughed and said, “That’s not my responsibility. How to find and who to find, you figure it out. But I repeat, I can’t record if she’s the host!”

“Are you sure you want to replace her?” Producer Li confirmed again and again.

“Yes, she must be replaced. With her, I’m out; with me, she’s out!” Ke Zhenyue made his stance clear.

Producer Li looked at Ke Zhenyue with helplessness and sympathy and said, “Alright, I’ll call the station director now.”

With that, Producer Li walked aside to make the phone call, while Ke Zhenyue scoffed, waiting with a dark expression for the station director’s response.

It was unclear what Producer Li was saying to the station director, and she kept glancing back at Ke Zhenyue every once in a while. A few minutes later, she walked over with her phone and extended it to Ke Zhenyue, saying flatly, “Director Ke, the station director wants to talk to you.”

Ke Zhenyue felt a surge of joy, thinking the station director would agree to his request to remove Huo Sining. He eagerly picked up the phone and said,

“Director, this woman named Huo Sining is simply too unruly! This is CCTV, and she is underestimating us at Channel Ten. On the first day of recording, she dared to be late, and that’s just too brazen of her. To have someone like this leading the program, I fear something might go wrong, and how can…”

Before Ke Zhenyue could finish his complaint, the person on the other end of the line interrupted him.

The head of Channel Ten sighed heavily and said, “Zhenyue, come back. For this program, I’m sending Xiao Ma to take over.”

Ke Zhenyue’s expression froze as if he couldn’t believe what he had just heard, and he asked in disbelief, “What?”
