Reborn As Super Heiress

Capítulo 1671: Chapter 1655: Who Tampered with It

The surveillance cameras weren’t turned on? This answer confirmed Huo Sining’s suspicion, someone must have tampered with it. Otherwise, how could it be such a coincidence that the ceiling chandelier had an issue, and the surveillance in those two areas had become just for show!

“What do you mean they weren’t turned on? The surveillance can only be controlled from their main station. Someone must have tampered with the control console. Keep investigating, we must find out who’s behind this sabotage!”

He Guolin was utterly furious. Being someone from the TV station, he understood the trickery behind this. This was clearly someone trying to harm Huo Sining, but this person was too arrogant and blatant, doing such a thing under everyone’s eyes, clearly trying to drag everyone down with them.

He Guolin was cursing internally. He only had a few years before retirement and wished for a smooth career until then, but now this troublemaker was doing such a thing during a recording, seemingly intending to ruin his career and force him out. The malice was just too deep.

He Guolin believed that, given Huo Sining’s status, if this matter wasn’t handled well, higher-ups would definitely take immediate and severe actions, and as the station director, he would be the first to be held accountable!

The rest of the staff in the studio were also furious. Everyone realized the seriousness of the situation. If something really happened to Huo Sining on stage, none of them in the production team would have peaceful days. When the nest is overturned, how can there be any unscathed eggs? No one would escape unscathed.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, everyone now realized that no one could stay out of it, and immediately started giving He Guolin suggestions.

“Director, there are surveillance cameras all over the studio and the hallway. Have all the footage reviewed. Just check the time period when the ceiling fell to see who went to the chandelier area, and then question each of them. We’ll find out who did it!”

He Guolin pondered for a moment, then looked at Han Wen beside him before nodding, “Then get all the surveillance videos in this area! Check them thoroughly!”

There are so many surveillance cameras in this area; he couldn’t believe that none would have caught this saboteur!

“Okay!” Xiao Ma called on a few staff members and hurriedly ran towards the main control room.

In less than ten minutes, they ran back again, but this time, their expressions showed a strange and complex look.

“Director…”

Xiao Ma opened his mouth but his expression clearly showed hesitation, “We found it, there was a camera pointing towards the chandelier area, but since it was in the hallway, the angle wasn’t very prominent, so many weren’t aware.”

“We checked the footage, and, before and after the ceiling fell, we saw someone pacing back and forth from the area where the chandelier’s wire stunt equipment was located. This person appeared twice in that camera’s view.”

He Guolin was startled upon hearing this, and anxiously asked, “Who is this person? Did you see clearly?”

Xiao Ma instinctively glanced at Huo Sining before slowly saying, “It’s Director Ke Zhenyue.”

He Guolin’s heart sank. He immediately remembered what happened yesterday, as Director Ke Zhenyue had a confrontation with Huo Sining, so for the sake of the program group’s harmony, he directly dismissed Director Ke Zhenyue from his position, letting Xiao Ma take over.

Unexpectedly, Ke Zhenyue held a grudge over this small issue and did something so malicious.

Recalling that he learned in the morning that the Yu Province Museum refused to loan artifacts and had made a condition that unless Ke Zhenyue was reinstated, he quickly pieced together this series of events.

At this time, a control room staff member following Director Xiao Ma also stepped forward, hesitated for a moment, and finally mustered the courage to speak:

“Director He, I remember something. During the show’s recording, I was the only one on duty in the main control room. I can assure you, all the cameras were indeed on.”

“Later, Director Ke came knocking, saying you had an urgent matter and wanted me to come down. I didn’t think much and rushed to find you. But I found no trace of you, so I went back to the control room.”

“I found it strange at that time, and now thinking back, Director Ke probably used that opportunity to enter the control room and turn off the surveillance cameras for the chandelier area!”

The staff member, after saying this, still looked nervously at He Guolin, as he knew well that his oversight played a part in this event. If accountability were pursued, he would likely be in trouble too.

Now, He Guolin no longer had any doubts, it was definitely Ke Zhenyue.

Since he didn’t even know the name of this control room staff, how would he have asked Ke Zhenyue to find this staff member for something urgent? Clearly, this staff member was tricked by Ke Zhenyue!

He Guolin internally cursed Ke Zhenyue thoroughly, and thinking about his early retirement because of this, he was extremely furious, and in his fit of rage, he couldn’t help but shout:

“Xiao Ma, call the police immediately, first detain that damned Ke Zhenyue!”

At that moment, Ke Zhenyue was leisurely sipping wine in his office, because his pent-up anger from earlier had finally been released.

When he saw the chandelier fall and smash the Primitive Celadon on the display, Ke Zhenyue felt delighted beyond words.

That smash cost the woman surnamed Huo millions. She was probably feeling deep distress over it.

Ke Zhenyue couldn’t help but click his tongue a few times, with a hint of regret in his eyes.

What a pity, if the woman was a bit slower to react, it wouldn’t have been just the shattered pottery, but also her head in trouble.

Such a heavy chandelier and beam falling down, hitting someone’s head, might have caused it to burst open!

Ke Zhenyue shook his head secretly, disappointed that the beam didn’t directly hit someone, allowing Huo Sining to escape a disaster. He was a bit dissatisfied.

But no matter what, this incident had certainly taught the woman a lesson. She was probably so frightened that the rest of the show’s recording would be indefinitely postponed. Thinking of this, Ke Zhenyue felt absolutely smug!

However, just as his smile reached his eyes, there was a loud bang, and the door of his office was forcibly broken open from outside!
