Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1675: Chapter 1659: Pregnant?

Ever since Gu Xu arrived at the studio, the production team felt a strong low-pressure atmosphere.

Upon figuring out that this suddenly appearing man was the legendary Gu god from the WGC awards ceremony who proposed live, Xu Wei’s eyes immediately sparkled.

The other staff members of the production weren’t as carefree, because everyone could tell that since Gu Xu entered the studio, he hadn’t spoken and his face was dark, clearly in a bad mood.

”Gu Xu...”

Huo Sining was also a bit embarrassed because she knew why Gu Xu was upset. After the incident, she hadn’t thought of informing Gu Xu about it at all.

Although Huo Sining didn’t know whether Gu Xu found out online or was informed by someone else, but the fact that his own wife was almost hit and nearly lost her life—such critical news—and he had to hear about it from others; when Huo Sining put herself in Gu Xu’s shoes, she too found it less than ideal.

Gu Xu felt utterly frustrated because he sensed that he was really useless as a husband in this situation. His wife was browsing Weibo instead of remembering to notify him.

Gu Xu was very annoyed, but when he saw his wife acting cute, he couldn’t bring himself to get angry.

With Gu Xu not speaking, Huo Sining couldn’t focus on her work. She simply tossed aside her script and directly said to Gu Xu, ”Honey~ What do you want to do~”

Gu Xu raised his head to glance at Huo Sining and said expressionlessly, ”You do remember I’m your husband, right? Something this big happened, why didn’t you inform me right away? Are you treating your husband like furniture?”

Huo Sining: ...

Seeing Huo Sining’s expression, Gu Xu felt defeated and gritted his teeth a bit, saying, ”No, we can’t delay any longer. Once you’re done with this show, we’ll hold the wedding to complete this final procedure. Then you can switch roles because you have no awareness of being a wife!”

Huo Sining was startled by this and quickly looked up, ”Huh?”

Gu Xu said irritably, ”What do you mean, ’huh’? Let’s just set it then. I think we should do it on the day of the Olympic opening ceremony! We’ll have the wedding in the daytime and go to see the opening at night!”

Huo Sining was a bit flustered, ”Isn’t this... a bit too fast?”

Gu Xu’s expression twisted a bit, ”Wife, we’ve been married on paper for over half a year. Are you planning to keep our marriage hidden and dump me if it doesn’t work out?”

Huo Sining was bewildered, ”Why would I?”

Gu Xu was so wronged he was about to cry, ”Then how come you didn’t tell me when something happened? Do you feel like this husband of yours is completely useless?”

Huo Sining was unaccustomed to this kind of demeanor from Gu Xu, ”No, that’s not it...”

Gu Xu pressed on, ”Since it’s not, let’s quickly hold the wedding. It’s settled, August 8th. The wedding dress I ordered for you is completed. We’ll go try it tomorrow. If you want anything, tell me. I’ll have someone prepare it right away. What kind of wedding do you want, traditional or Western style?”

Huo Sining was so overwhelmed by Gu Xu’s barrage of questions that she mindlessly said, ”A mix of traditional and Western...”

Gu Xu finally said in satisfaction, ”Alright, I’ll call my parents and arrange the banquet. You don’t need to worry about a thing, leave it to me!”

With that, as if fearing Huo Sining might object, Gu Xu quickly pulled out his phone, swiftly calling the Gu Family’s old mansion.

The call connected quickly, answered by Mrs. Gu. Gu Xu looked at Huo Sining and said directly:

”Grandma, please tell Mom and Dad that Ningning and I plan to have our wedding on August 8th. Yes, discuss with Grandpa and my parents what to prepare, and we’ll discuss it further when we come home for dinner tonight. Alright, see you tonight.”

Huo Sining vaguely felt something was wrong, but couldn’t pinpoint it. She could only stare blankly as Gu Xu called one by one, informing his brothers, Song Hui, Ouyang Jun, Qin Tian, and even didn’t skip over Zhou Shitao and Huang Zhenlong.

After finishing the three parts of the Spring and Autumn Warring States series and filling the scene where the celadon vase broke, Huo Sining realized later on that she seemed to have been tricked by Gu Xu.

This guy intentionally acted angry upon arrival, using her guilt and unease to lead the conversation to the topic of the wedding, then cornered her step by step until she couldn’t refute, tricking her into agreeing for the wedding.

Seeing Gu Xu’s smug grin from achieving his goal, Huo Sining realized too late that she had been fooled by this guy.

But at this point, Gu Xu had already gone all in, notifying every relative from all sides, leaving no room for Huo Sining to back out.

Huo Sining felt a mix of anger and helplessness, gnashing her teeth but having no leverage against Gu Xu.

Upon thinking carefully, they did have their marriage license for more than half a year; not holding a wedding did seem a bit unreasonable indeed.

Moreover, today’s incident was partly her fault for not informing Gu Xu immediately, due to feeling like not having held the wedding meant they weren’t truly husband and wife.

Considering all this, Huo Sining sighed inwardly, resigned to go along with Gu Xu’s plan.

However, what left Huo Sining feeling both frustrated and amused was the aftermath. After Gu Xu hastily informed all friends and family about the wedding on August 8, nearly everyone thought it was odd and abrupt.

”Ahh, Ningning, are you really getting married on August 8? Did something huge happen?”

”Wow, first came love then the ceremony, you guys are breaking new ground!”

”Ningning, you’re pregnant! That’s wonderful. With your smarts, your child will surely be the most intelligent in the world!”

”Ningning, child, how come you didn’t tell the family you’re pregnant? I heard you were at the TV station recording, nearly getting hurt. It’s too dangerous. Let someone else take over and come home to live so Mom can take care of you!”

”Sister-in-law, do you have to be so fast? We’re still dating, you guys already made a baby. Won’t our child be left behind at the starting line?”

After being bombarded by phone calls and messages, Huo Sining was completely bewildered.

Pregnant? Creating a baby? What is all this nonsense?

Huo Sining truly felt torn between laughter and tears when she realized they’d misunderstood, rolling her eyes and glaring helplessly at the culprit on the side.
