Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1033: Chapter 1029: Not GAY, Just Asexual

Gu Xu was stunned. He didn’t understand what Huo Sining meant by asking this question.

But the moment he heard Huo Sining ask that question, a vague feeling flashed through his mind, something he wanted to grasp but couldn’t.

Gu Xu felt a bit uneasy inside. Instinctively, he reached out to tightly embrace the person in front of him and said, ”What do you mean by rise from the dead, sweetheart? What kind of nonsense are you talking about? With me around, nothing will happen to you. I will absolutely not let you get hurt!”

The tension and anticipation that was in Huo Sining’s heart suddenly dissipated completely. She chuckled and said, ”You misunderstood me. Have you read ’Dream of the Red Chamber’? When Jia Baoyu first saw Lin Daiyu, he blurted out, ’I have seen this sister before.’

”Why is that? Because Shenying Servant was Jia Baoyu’s previous incarnation, and he had once watered the Red Pearl Celestial Plant by the Three Lives Stone. So, after being reincarnated as a human and seeing Lin Daiyu for the first time, he found her familiar.”

When Gu Xu heard this, he raised an eyebrow and said, ”So what you’re saying is that when you first saw me, you felt I was familiar, as if you’d met me in a past life, and that’s why you were stunned?”

A glint flashed across Huo Sining’s eyes as she smiled and said, ”Theoretically, you could say that. In reality, before I met you, I often had a strange dream.”

Gu Xu asked, intrigued, ”What kind of dream?”

”A hero-saving beauty kind of dream. In the dream, a girl attending a party was drugged and fled the banquet hall in distress, only to be cornered in an alley by a group of thugs. Just as those thugs were about to attack the girl, a man suddenly appeared and rescued her.”

Gu Xu found it amusing. This dream sounded just like a clichéd soap opera plot! It turned out his wife was still a little naïve—a fierce and independent woman on the surface, yet at heart, she was still a little princess who loved to fantasize.

”And then?” Gu Xu asked, feigning curiosity with a smile.

Huo Sining fixed her gaze on Gu Xu and slowly said, ”The drug in the girl’s system took effect, and she threw herself into the arms of the man who saved her, even kissed him, but was harshly slapped by him and pushed away. The man then seemed to realize something was wrong with the girl and rudely took her back, drenched her with cold water in the bathtub, and later called a family doctor to save her.”

Gu Xu couldn’t help but laugh, ”This later part is slightly different from the usual soap opera scripts. But still, this man is too cold-blooded; a sweet, soft girl in his arms, and he can still resist? Either this man is gay or he’s sexually indifferent!”

Huo Sining’s mouth twitched, and she looked up at Gu Xu, ”Are you sure?”

Gu Xu laughed and said, ”Logically, it should be like that. Isn’t this your dream? You should know who this man is.”

Huo Sining nodded, looking at Gu Xu with a half-smiling gaze, ”Before I left Bashu, I indeed did not know who this man was. But less than half a month after arriving in S City, I saw this man in the reception hall of Su Group’s Donghua.”

Gu Xu’s expression immediately froze, and almost subconsciously, he pointed a finger at his own nose, ”This person...is me?”

Huo Sining nodded, teasingly looking at Gu Xu, ”Yes, it’s you. That’s why when I saw you in the lobby of Su Jinyuan’s company, I was so shocked and impolite, staring at you.”

”Pfft—” Gu Xu couldn’t help but burst out laughing, reaching out to rub Huo Sining’s head, messing up her silky hair, and chuckling, ”Sweetheart, you are really cunning, huh? Inventing such a story, going a long way just to dig a pit and criticize me, huh? I can assure you, I’m definitely not gay, and whether or not I’m sexually indifferent isn’t up for me to decide, that’s up to you.”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief. She knew that Gu Xu would never take her story seriously. But in fact, she had truly experienced those things in a past life, buried deep in her heart. Now that she had spoken of it, whether Gu Xu believed it or not, she felt a sense of liberation, a lightness in her whole being.

”But you did come up with quite an interesting story. So according to you, does that mean you subconsciously think we knew each other in a past life, and I saved you then, so you’re here to repay me? Hmm, that’s nice, offering yourself to me. So when you saw me for the first time at Su Group’s Donghua, you fell in love with me at first sight?”

Huo Sining just felt a few lines of blackness across her forehead. It was like a chicken talking to a duck; Gu Xu’s line of thought was completely on a different channel from hers, focusing on something completely different.

Seeing Huo Sining not speaking, Gu Xu thought she was embarrassed, got even more spirited, picked her up, and put her on the marble table. He smiled mischievously and said:

”There’s nothing wrong with love at first sight, but sweetheart, I must correct you on one mistake—the protagonist of your story definitely couldn’t have been me. Such a lovely wife plunging into my arms, hugging and kissing, do you think your husband could still hold back? Haha, if I were that hero, I’d probably rather die in the arms of a beauty than let my lovely wife go.”

Saying this, Gu Xu couldn’t help but laugh deeply, shamelessly leaned in, and captured Huo Sining’s rosy, full lips, his hand beginning to act unruly.

Huo Sining sat motionless on the marble table, slightly lifting her eyelids, meeting the eyes of the man in front of her. They were like a deep, unfathomable pool and a burning dark flame. Yet those stormy eyes were looking at her with deep affection, focusing on her so intensely, profound and passionate. The tenderness and indulgence in them, just one look, made her almost drown, unable to extricate herself.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh in her heart, feeling she was foolish to discuss this topic of past lives and present life with this man just now.

No matter what happened in the past life, whether that person was him or not, it’s all unimportant. What’s important is that the man standing in front of her at this moment is the one who loves her with his whole heart, the one and only.

Gu Xu moved his whole body closer, one hand sliding inside her coat. Huo Sining’s face grew warm, a charming blush spread up her cheeks, but she eventually resignedly closed her eyes and didn’t dodge, closing her eyes and leaning in to linger in a deep kiss with the person in front of her.
