Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 973: Chapter 969 Old Affairs

Huo Sining does not reject homosexuality, nor does she believe that this different sexual orientation is so hard to talk about. However, even now, the domestic view on homosexuality is still not tolerant and open, let alone seven years ago?

Therefore, Huo Sining can guess what a sensation the publication of that newspaper caused throughout Jin City back then, and how much impact it had on the Feng family.

”At that time, Jing Lin had just directly advanced to the graduate school of the Law School at C University, and Mrs. Feng didn’t know Jing Lin was... She had good intentions and wanted to introduce the daughter of another professor in the college to Jing Lin as a girlfriend.”

”Jing Lin probably knew his own situation, so he refused Mrs. Feng’s matchmaking. Who would have thought that the professor’s daughter would take a liking to Jing Lin at first sight and pursue him relentlessly.”

”It was the girl herself who wanted to marry into the Feng family; Jing Lin always avoided her and sternly rejected the girl’s pursuit.”

”As a result, during the process of pursuing Jing Lin, the girl discovered that Jing Lin was very close to another boy. When the family learned of Jing Lin’s orientation, they believed the Feng family was engaged in deception, and in their anger and shame, they published this report in the Jin City Morning Post.”

After hearing the whole story, Huo Sining was utterly stunned.

In that closed era, such scandalous and outrageous events, happening in a professor’s family, on a talented graduate of the Law School, how could they not be surprising and disgusting? People at the time, upon seeing such a report, would definitely be filled with righteous indignation.

Huo Sining could imagine what the Feng family went through during that time when the report was published.

”As soon as the report was out, someone quickly recognized that one of the people in the photo was Mrs. Feng’s son, and within a day, the whole C University knew about it.”

”Feeling deceived, that girl’s family was determined to ruin the Feng family’s reputation, spreading rumors widely in the school. Very soon, Mrs. Feng was dismissed from her professorship, and the academy unilaterally fired her due to issues of conduct, and Jing Lin was expelled from school.”

”The door and outer walls of the Feng home were stained with paint by unknown offenders, with all kinds of curses and insults. Every time Mrs. Feng went out, she was pelted with rotten vegetable leaves and stinky eggs, scolded brutally.”

The middle-aged woman couldn’t help but show a pained expression. Even she, an outsider, felt sad when recalling the events of those years, not to mention Madam Feng, who was directly involved?

”It was at that time that Jing Lin was driven out by Mrs. Feng, who, no matter how Jing Lin begged her, would not listen and used extremely harsh and venomous words to insist on severing the mother-son relationship!”

”Actually, as outsiders, we could clearly see that Mrs. Feng did this to protect her son. The public opinion back then was terrifying. Mrs. Feng feared her son would be destroyed by others, so she could only drive him away and endure the pain herself.”

”As a single mother, she could only protect her child this way. But Jing Lin didn’t understand; he thought Mrs. Feng would not forgive him because of what he did. So after being driven out by Mrs. Feng, he never returned.”

”During that period, the Feng family became the focus of Jin City, and countless people talked about it over tea and meals. Even as strong as Mrs. Feng was, she couldn’t withstand it anymore. She dared not go out, trapped herself at home, and soon lost her hearing, unwilling to speak.”

”Mrs. Feng never blamed her son. I saw her several times crying while holding her son’s photo. Given that situation back then, driving her son away was the most unavoidable choice.”

At this point, the middle-aged woman’s face showed inevitable sighs. She was full of sympathy and pity for the Feng family’s ordeal, but ultimately she was just an ordinary person, powerless to change such things.

Huo Sining was already unsure of what to say, her gaze fell on the Old Granny holding the business card and rubbing it, her mind incredibly complicated.

No matter how strong Huo Sining’s imagination was, she couldn’t imagine that Feng Jinglin and Mrs. Feng were separated because of such an incident, unable to have a good ending.

Thinking about Mrs. Feng’s encounters over the years, Huo Sining felt an indescribable bitterness in her heart. Mrs. Feng’s hearing loss was actually a self-enclosing, a protective means to escape reality. Perhaps untying the knot, allowing the Old Granny to walk out of the shadow of that year, might restore her hearing and open her mouth to speak again.

This thought lingered in Huo Sining’s mind relentlessly. She recalled the bank card Feng Jinglin entrusted her to give Mrs. Feng.

Originally, Huo Sining intended to give the card to Madam Feng when she left, but after hearing the whole story, thinking carefully about Feng Jinglin’s regretful and cowardly expression at the Chinese restaurant, and looking again at the Old Granny now—Huo Sining just felt that if she really took out the bank card, it would be the most fatal blow to this old woman.

Huo Sining could see clearly, for old Madam Feng, the most important thing was to see her son. She didn’t need money, only familial love.

This old woman was too pitiful; she had been yearning for seven long years just to see her son again.

If Huo Sining really followed Feng Jinglin’s request and gave the bank card to the Old Granny, she might think Feng Jinglin still refused to forgive her. The Old Granny would definitely feel desperate, something Huo Sining couldn’t bring herself to do.

Thinking about it, Huo Sining made a decision in her heart. She took out her phone and called Gu Xu: ”Can you help me get a visa there? What’s the fastest it could be done?”

Gu Xu knew that Huo Sining had already returned home, but he was away on a mission, unable to see his wife, feeling very sorry. Hearing her question, Gu Xu didn’t even ask for details and directly sent a phone number to Huo Sining.

”Find this person, he will get it done for you. For urgent processing, it could be done within two days.”

With Gu Xu’s confirmed reply, Huo Sining calculated the time; she would definitely be delayed by a day going to the Imperial Capital. Taking this into account, staying in the Imperial Capital for two days was still feasible, allowing the visa for Mrs. Feng to be processed.

So she didn’t hesitate any longer, directly walked up to Old Madam Feng, picked up a pen, and solemnly wrote:

”Madam Feng, would you be willing to go to Dongyang with me?”

Seeing these words, Old Madam Feng suddenly raised her head, her eyes fixated tightly on Huo Sining, and Huo Sining saw a new light in the old woman’s eyes.
