Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 989: Chapter 985: Calm Response

Zhou Zeping thought Huo Sining was joking, and he said helplessly:

”What are you talking about? The research institute only produced a batch of samples, about a hundred in total. We only brought three pairs of samples to Dongyang. How could they just smash them? These are all important experimental materials for future research, and it’s such a waste that they’ve been destroyed. These Dongyang people are simply unreasonable and too barbaric!”

The old professor has always preferred to reason with others. He’s never seen such a situation before, and even if he wanted to reason, would these Dongyang people listen to him? So he could only complain a bit, using civilized yet weak words like ”unreasonable” and ”barbaric,” but felt powerless.

But Huo Sining was different. She never takes the usual path. The more these Dongyang people wanted to use violence to stop her, the more Huo Sining was determined to break their plans. She smiled at Zhou Zeping and said, ”I know there aren’t many samples at the research institute, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have samples!”

Before coming to Dongyang as an exchange student, Huo Sining learned from Qin Shaoyou about her purpose of being sent as an exchange student. At that time, she didn’t know what she could do, but upholding her duty as a student of S University’s School of Biological Sciences and being a shareholder of the Huaxia Koi project, she prepared everything she might need before coming to Dongyang.

Given the current situation, it was clear Zhou Zeping couldn’t handle this exchange event anymore. As a participant, Huo Sining couldn’t just sit back and do nothing, so in such a critical moment, she couldn’t continue to be a turtle hiding in its shell.

Without hesitation, she called Nara Nigawa, asking him to help find ten small glass fish tanks and bring them over. Then, pretending to go out to get something, she explained briefly to Zhou Zeping and ran out.

Everyone in the exchange hall was puzzled, not knowing what this Huaxia female student intended to do after rushing in and rushing out again.

However, those troublemaking Dongyang professors and students were complacent, figuring that this Huaxia professor had no solutions left. Since the samples had been smashed by them, no matter how capable this Huaxia professor was, he couldn’t bring the smashed Koi back to life.

These people thought they had disrupted Zhou Zeping’s plan, but they never expected to encounter someone like Huo Sining, who doesn’t play by the rules.

In less than twenty minutes, Huo Sining returned, carrying a bucket, followed by a baffled Nara Nigawa holding several bags, each containing several glass tanks.

No one knew what Huo Sining was up to, but she wore a smile, ignoring the expressions of those professors, and took the glass tanks from Nara Nigawa’s hands, placing them one by one on the display table and filling them with clear water.

After completing these tasks, she took out the wooden bucket she was hiding and used a mesh scoop to dip in.

One, two, three...

From three inches to one foot long, a total of twenty Koi were scooped out of the bucket by Huo Sining and displayed neatly in the glass tanks on the table.

Each one was lively, each one had red sections and white scales on its back, and each was a genuine Huaxia red and white Koi.

After finishing, Huo Sining raised her head, smiling at the troublemaking professors and students, and said, ”It’s just a pair of samples that died. No problem, if you gentlemen are interested, go ahead and smash them, we have plenty of samples!”

The attempted show of strength backfired, leaving the professors and students embarrassed, their faces turning red as they fixed their glare on Huo Sining and the twenty Koi behind her, as if trying to burn a hole with their gaze.

Zhou Zeping was already stunned by Huo Sining’s bold move. He had been following the research progress and knew the current state of the project. The samples now were barely half a foot long, and certainly not as large as these Koi. Also, the research institute would never be so generous to allow her to display so many samples crudely carried in a wooden bucket.

Zhou Zeping was shocked; these Koi were definitely not from the research institute. Then where did Huo Sining get them?

Seeing Zhou Zeping’s doubt, Huo Sining leaned towards Professor Zhou and explained softly, ”I brought these fish from home during my recent trip back. The research institute bought two of my Koi samples back then, but in fact, those were just two of the ones I took to participate in the fighting fish competition. I still have four at home.”

Zhou Zeping was dumbfounded, while Huo Sining looked calm, winking playfully with a sly smile, ”I wasn’t joking just now. I have several batches of fish at home, plenty of fish fry of various sizes, and there are loads of samples.”

Suddenly remembering something, Huo Sining awkwardly asked Zhou Zeping, ”Professor, can I use the multimedia equipment?”

Zhou Zeping was puzzled, ”What do you need the multimedia for?”

Huo Sining pulled a USB flash drive from her pocket and explained, ”I filmed a video at home when I had nothing to do. It documents the breeding process of my Koi from spawning to the formation of fry. I want to play this video for those Dongyang professors.”

At her words, Zhou Zeping’s eyes lit up, nodding eagerly, ”You really filmed such a video? That’s fantastic! Quick, plug it in. I’ll help you!”

Upon hearing that Huo Sining had such a video, Zhou Zeping was almost moved to tears. With such a video, why worry about the Dongyang troublemakers causing any more issues? Zhou Zeping thought to himself that if he had known she had something like this, he wouldn’t have bothered with the other things. Just play the video and those Dongyang people wouldn’t have had a chance to cause any trouble.

Thinking this, Zhou Zeping moved swiftly to play the video Huo Sining indicated.

Soon, the projector started, and the content captured by a high-definition camera clearly appeared on the big screen for everyone to see.

”Professors, seniors, I don’t know much about genetic engineering, nor do I know the research institute’s exact progress, but what I want to explain is that these are four purebred Huaxia Koi raised at my home. They are the parent fish.”

As the video played, Huo Sining stood on the stage, beginning her explanation and demonstration.
