Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 958: Chapter 954: Dongdu’s Top Lawyer

Afterward, Huo Sining went from Nara Nigawa to Kinki and Kyushu, and half a month later, Feng Jinglin, who Huo Sining had contacted before, responded to her.

This Feng Jinglin was the person named on the business card that Song Chunxue gave Huo Sining before she came to Dongyang. After arriving in Dongyang, Huo Sining contacted him via phone and email, but they didn’t meet face to face.

Later, Xiaoban Zhengxiong and his mother were taken back by the police for investigation, and Huo Sining told Feng Jinglin about Hinata Chinatsu. It was only then that Huo Sining found out that Feng Jinglin was a lawyer who ran a very famous law firm in Dongdu. A case like the one Huo Sining mentioned, where an employer refuses to pay labor wages, was a piece of cake for Feng Jinglin.

So without Huo Sining having to ask, Feng Jinglin took over the matter directly and said he would get back to her soon.

Feng Jinglin was reliable, and in less than a month, the issue was resolved. Mrs. Kosaka quickly compromised to reduce her and her son’s sentence, and readily paid Hinata Chinatsu’s wages and mental compensation.

Huo Sining received a call from Feng Jinglin, who said that the compensation had already been transferred, which surprised her greatly.

Such matters, even domestically, would drag on for months before being resolved, but she didn’t expect the efficiency in Dongyang to be so high.

Of course, Huo Sining didn’t know that if an ordinary person handled this, it would take at least one to two years, and court proceedings wouldn’t even occur, trapping the case in procedural limbo. It was because Feng Jinglin intervened that this case got expedited, and the judgment was fairly just, with court supervision, giving Xiaoban’s mother and son no chance to play tricks.

Of course, since Feng Jinglin helped Huo Sining, she still had to express her gratitude to him. So after receiving his call, coincidentally back in Dongdu, she invited Feng Jinglin for a meal.

Contrary to what Huo Sining expected, she originally thought that someone who handled matters so precisely and swiftly should be a professor-level figure in the legal world with many years of experience, but when she arrived at the agreed location, she saw a man not much older than Gu Xu, of elite status.

The man pushed the door open and politely asked the waiter a question, to which the waiter pointed in Huo Sining’s direction. He nodded slightly upon hearing this, thanked the waiter with a smile, and then walked step by step towards her.

Huo Sining looked up and saw a tall man walking gracefully toward her, wearing a meticulously pressed suit without a wrinkle, his hair styled perfectly with hair gel, and equipped with gold-rimmed glasses and a luxury watch—a man clearly pursuing the utmost in life.

Sitting opposite Huo Sining, Feng Jinglin wore a gentle smile and apologized to her: ”I’m really sorry; I’m a stickler for time, used to arriving just on time, making you wait.”

Huo Sining smiled and shook her head: ”No, I just got here myself. It’s a good habit you have, Mr. Feng—is it a professional habit from your work as a lawyer?”

Feng Jinglin nodded and without small talk, took a file folder out of his briefcase and pushed it towards Huo Sining:

”This is the document for Miss Hinata’s appeal and trial, and the judgment is included. Miss Hinata didn’t attend the hearing, but that didn’t hinder the court’s judgment. There’s also the compensation from the Kosaka family to Miss Hinata inside.”

Huo Sining accepted the folder, didn’t open it, and directly stuffed it into her backpack behind her.

Feng Jinglin raised an eyebrow: ”Miss Huo, don’t you want to check it?”

Huo Sining smiled and shook her head: ”No need, since you’ve promised to help me, I trust you’d do your best to assist, and considering your status, Mr. Feng, you wouldn’t think much of such trifles.”

Anyone would be pleased to hear compliments, and Feng Jinglin chuckled lightly, letting his gaze sweep over Huo Sining, unable to help but sigh:

”Indeed, Miss Huo lives up to her name, no wonder she has so many admirers at home. I’m curious, this case regarding Miss Hinata is really trivial, and with your wealth, Miss Huo, you wouldn’t see such a small payment as significant, so how come...”

Feng Jinglin had known about Huo Sining from Song Chunxue a month ago when he received a call from Song Chunxue instructing him to provide all possible help to Huo Sining, regardless of her requests, and if it couldn’t be resolved, he could even ask the Lu Family for help.

From Feng Jinglin’s perspective, Huo Sining would seek him out for some major trouble or unsolvable event because he was introduced to her by Song Chunxue. Such connections are rarely used for minor cases unless in emergencies.

However, Feng Jinglin found it surprising and hard to understand that while Huo Sining did approach him, it wasn’t about her own matters but rather for a Dongyang girl, and for a minor civil case seeking wages that couldn’t be smaller.

Feng Jinglin felt bewildered, but the job had to be done, and without Huo Sining asking, he had to take it upon himself.

Song Chunxue’s status as a nation’s leader’s daughter-in-law meant she didn’t need to curry favor with anyone, yet she was so partial and protective of Huo Sining, proving that this girl’s status was indeed extraordinary.

Despite his assistance, Feng Jinglin couldn’t grasp how Huo Sining could care about such matters. He had deliberately searched domestic websites for information on Huo Sining and found this girl was a gamble expert worth billions. This amount of wages, she could easily compensate Hinata Chinatsu herself with any excuse. Such an amount was insignificant to Huo Sining, not worth mobilizing a legal ace like him.

Huo Sining sensed the implicit message in Feng Jinglin’s words. She smiled: ”This isn’t about the money; even if it’s just one hundred Dongyang Currency, it’s Hinata’s rightful wages. I don’t have the standing to pay Hinata, and the Kosaka mother and son have no right to default on those wages.”

This statement from Huo Sining was irrefutable to Feng Jinglin. He smiled, nodding: ”Indeed, Miss Huo lacks the typical businessman traits, whereas domestically, ordinary business folk would rather pay themselves than opt for legal hassles.”

While Huo Sining wanted to correct his assumptions, she wasn’t a businesswoman; at most, she was half a gamble enthusiast, half an antique appraiser. Yet external perceptions mostly saw her through the lens of Jade Beauty, often mistaking her for the boss of Jade Beauty. In reality, the true manager and decision-maker was Bai Yishan.

However, Feng Jinglin’s perception didn’t bother Huo Sining enough to correct him, and she simply smiled lightly as the topic passed.
