Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 967: Chapter 963: Got It Wrong?

The companion looked at Nohara Sa, confused: ”Clue, what clue?”

Nohara Sa looked at the companion with a look as if they were an idiot, and asked: ”Can’t you figure it out? This Huo Sining is just an exchange student, staying at Waseda University for only one semester. Why would she return to her country in such a short time?”

The companion shook their head: ”What’s so strange about that? It’s not uncommon for foreign students to return to their country during their studies, if they miss home, or have something important to handle, they would naturally return. It’s just a plane ticket, nothing against the rules.”

Nohara Sa shook his head at the companion’s words: ”You still haven’t grasped the key to this matter. You’ve forgotten that we’re investigating a smuggling case. Those machine tools have disappeared now, they’ve been moved by the smugglers, but those things are big and obvious, easily noticed. So they can’t hide them forever, they have to think of a way to move them out.”

”In this situation, leaving the country becomes inevitable. Those people can’t sit still, they must be thinking of ways to get those machines through customs, escorted by someone.”

”But isn’t it a coincidence that this Huo Sining appears in Qianye Fishing Village and now suddenly suggests going back to her country? It almost mirrors the smugglers’ operation plan. Isn’t it too much of a coincidence?”

The companion heard the implication in Nohara Sa’s words and was dumbfounded: ”So, are you saying that this Huo Sining is actually one of the smugglers?”

Nohara Sa nodded confidently: ”Exactly, and she’s definitely the main person responsible for escorting those machine tools this time, possibly even the mastermind. She’s going back to her country, right? With the size and weight of those machine tools, they can’t possibly go by air, only by sea. So I’m convinced that this time Huo Sining won’t be flying back, she will choose to go by ship!”

”You check which ship ticket she bought. We just need to monitor the cargo of that ship, this woman is very cunning, she might have multiple hideouts, so this matter must be investigated carefully, no mistakes can be made.”

Nohara Sa was very confident, believing he had caught the smugglers by their tail, feeling excited and proud, but soon a bucket of cold water ruined his confidence completely.

”Nohara.” The companion received information sent from the Police Department on their laptop, after a look, they raised their head, looking at Nohara Sa with a strange expression: ”You guessed wrong, Huo Sining bought an airline ticket, for a flight at ten o’clock tomorrow morning, location S City, no information of any ship ticket.”

The smile on Nohara Sa’s face froze instantly, instinctively snatching the companion’s laptop, unable to believe it:

”How is this possible? Did they miss something, how can this be? That woman on a plane, do the smugglers have the audacity to smuggle those machines onto a plane unnoticed?”

The companion hearing Nohara Sa’s words was both amused and exasperated: ”What are you talking about, those machines weigh over fifty tons in total, how could a civilian plane carry such a heavy cargo? I’m telling you, you guessed wrong, Huo Sining is not a smuggler, your direction was wrong from the start!”

Nohara Sa was still unwilling to believe the ”fact” in front of him. His intuition had never been wrong, and it wouldn’t be wrong this time.

”Tomorrow, be sure the airport is carefully monitoring, not missing any container, absolutely must not let those machines leave the country, remind customs to guard strictly!”

Nohara Sa remained unwavering, convinced of his intuition, knowing the smugglers are crafty and might have other tricks up their sleeves, feeling there was more to it.

Early the next morning, Nohara Sa got up early, ready to go, with a somber and deep expression, clenched fists, determined to catch the smugglers red-handed.

At the Sota University building entrance, around eight thirty, Huo Sining dragged a small suitcase and came down. Feng Jinglin was waiting in a car at the school gate, surprising Huo Sining a bit, but she did not refuse, directly getting into the car, driven to the airport by Feng Jinglin.

Nohara Sa followed all the way, after arriving at the airport, watched as Huo Sining entered, picked up her ticket, and entered the waiting lounge. Nohara Sa also got out of the car, constantly inquiring about the situation on the other side through his earpiece.

”I’m in the airport waiting lounge, the target is waiting for boarding in the lounge.”

”How’s the cargo containers inspection going?”

”Don’t just do random checks, look carefully at each one, can’t let any slip through the net!”

In the corner of her eye, Huo Sining noticed an exposed edge of a piece of clothing, slightly curling her lips, and after some thought, suddenly turned, heading towards a nearby emergency exit.

Nohara Sa noticed Huo Sining’s unusual move, causing his heart to skip, quickly shouting: ”The target is moving, heading towards the emergency exit, she is likely meeting with other accomplices, keep close watch.”

A few strangers seemed to appear suddenly at her side, Huo Sining quickened her steps, dragging the small suitcase, moving rapidly through the airport, soon disappearing into the crowd.

”Target lost!”

”Lost track of her!”

”Damn, can’t find her!”

Hearing several curses through the earpiece, Nohara Sa’s face showed urgency, scanning the area to relocate the target, but airports are crowded, not easy to find one person.

Damn it! Nohara Sa was filled with anger and frustration, instinctively cursing under his breath.

”Could the woman have left through the emergency exit?”

”Nohara, could we have been tricked? The woman may have deliberately misled us, making us busy at the airport, while the real target might be at the port?”

The companion’s doubts and questions came through the earpiece, Nohara Sa’s mind felt muddled, unable to think clearly, responded sullenly: ”The police chief already has people watching the port, a trap awaits them, surely they can’t escape. Your task now is to find the target quickly!”

Just as Nohara Sa finished speaking, someone suddenly tapped his shoulder, and a teasing female voice came from behind: ”Officer Nohara, what a coincidence, we meet again!”

Nohara Sa’s body stiffened, slowly turning around, seeing Huo Sining standing behind him with a slightly mocking glint in her eyes.

Wasn’t this woman supposed to be gone? How could she appear here? Nohara Sa was instantly bewildered, his mind tangled, unable to figure out the situation.

Huo Sining seemed calm, taking a glance at Nohara Sa’s earpiece, pretending to be curious, asked with a smile: ”Are you on a mission? I’m really sorry to disturb your work, do you know where this gate is, and how to get there? This place is too big, I seem a bit lost.”
