Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 952: Chapter 948 Tracking

Gu Xu rushed to Dongdu temporarily, originally planning to stay for a day or two. However, early the next morning, he received a secret phone call.

After answering the call, Gu Xu’s expression turned somewhat strange. Huo Sining was puzzled, uncertain about the situation, and just as she was about to ask, Gu Xu spoke first: ”There’s no need to go back for now; there’s a temporary mission, and I’ll have to stay in Dongyang for a few days.”

Although Gu Xu had already retired, Falcon occasionally had tasks that required his involvement, involving confidential matters. Naturally, Huo Sining refrained from asking questions.

Considering Gu Xu’s previous jealous behavior, Huo Sining deliberately brought Gu Xu to the antique shop to introduce him to Nara Nigawa.

Nara Nigawa was very enthusiastic, not only introducing the antiques in the shop to Gu Xu but also showcasing his tea set, offering Gu Xu the highest hospitality—kung fu tea.

However, for reasons unknown, Nara Nigawa felt that the man in front of him always looked at him with a hostile gaze, not the kind of hostility towards Dongyang, but more like a lion protecting a lioness, a vigilant and defensive look, which left Nara Nigawa confused as a monk scratching his head.

Gu Xu wasn’t interested in the kung fu tea brewed by Nara Nigawa. He glanced around, noticing that Nara Nigawa’s little shop was quite small, not even half the size of his wife’s Jubao Pavilion in the Imperial Capital. Furthermore, Nara Nigawa didn’t seem to have any ambition or drive. He looked like a weakling.

Gu Xu filled his mind with thoughts, concluding that his wife wouldn’t be interested in such an ordinary person. Comparing himself to Nara Nigawa, he felt much younger and more attractive than this Dongyang guy. At this, he relaxed, his expression softened, and he stopped showing hostility towards Nara Nigawa.

Nara Nigawa felt the pressure around him lift considerably. His tense heart finally settled.

Just moments ago, the expression of this Huaxia man had been as if he was ready to come at him desperately. Nara Nigawa was quite terrified.

Seeing Gu Xu’s demeanor return to normal, Nara Nigawa finally let out a sigh of relief, intently thinking to himself, goodness, Huo’s boyfriend is truly frightening. What does this man do? Could he be a murderer?

Nara Nigawa looked at Gu Xu with a suspicious gaze, then turned to Huo Sining with concern, wanting to speak but hesitating.

The man tagged as a suspect had no sense of awareness, wrapping his arm around his wife as if declaring sovereignty, staring directly at Nara Nigawa. His possessiveness was ridiculously clear, with the obvious intention to warn the man opposite that this woman was taken, she was his wife, and he should not have designs on her, or else he would not let it slide!

Nara Nigawa expressed that he completely failed to understand, since he and Gu Xu were on entirely different wavelengths. Nara Nigawa just felt that Huo’s boyfriend seemed odd, not only was his gaze terrifying, but his intelligence seemed somewhat off.

Nara Nigawa felt troubled, having interacted with Huo Sining for a while, he knew she was an exceptionally gifted woman. Therefore, in his view, someone like Huo Sining should have an equally outstanding boyfriend in every aspect. Upon seeing Mr. Gu, Nara Nigawa couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

Besides his external attributes, Mr. Gu seemed unimpressive. Nara Nigawa felt Gu Xu wasn’t worthy of Huo Sining.

This got Nara Nigawa thinking, considering he had several junior classmates who were currently single, each an elite in their field, all seemingly better than this man who looked like a street thug. Even if Huo Sining didn’t fancy them, they could still be friends.

Thinking this way, Nara Nigawa increasingly felt the idea was good, making up his mind to find an opportunity to introduce those junior classmates to Huo Sining.

Gu Xu was secretly pleased for scaring off Nara Nigawa. Had he known Nara Nigawa’s true thoughts, he would have spat out blood in frustration.

Gu Xu imagined that once he declared sovereignty, Nara Nigawa would retreat, but unknowingly, his actions backfired. He thought he chased away a wolf (self-assumed), only to summon a pack of real hungry wolves. It was truly a case of trying to steal a chicken only to lose rice.

After seeing Nara Nigawa, Huo Sining took Gu Xu to taste authentic Dongyang cuisine, but just as they reached the restaurant building entrance in Ginza, Huo Sining unexpectedly spotted a familiar figure—Hattori Keiko.

The previous time Hattori Keiko had set up an ambush for Huo Sining in a dead-end alley, if it hadn’t been for her invisibility cheat skill, she would have fallen into that woman’s hands.

Regarding this matter, Huo Sining was inwardly simmering with anger, but since she couldn’t find the culprit, she could only vent her frustration on those punks. Now seeing Hattori Keiko in Ginza, how could Huo Sining resist getting back at that woman?

With a flash of thought, Huo Sining, almost instinctively, followed Hattori Keiko with Gu Xu in tow, feigning interest in the restaurant signs downstairs while her peripheral vision focused on the elevator numbers.

After waiting for about half a minute, the elevator stopped at the top floor. Huo Sining’s lips curled unconsciously.

Gu Xu, being a reconnaissance soldier, naturally noticed his wife’s little scheme. However, he didn’t point it out. He had seen that woman, Hattori Keiko, in Imperial Capital before. Although he didn’t know exactly how that woman had offended Huo Sining, he knew that she must have done something to infuriate his wife.

Gu Xu understood Huo Sining’s personality quite well. She’s the type to clearly distinguish between love and hate; whoever treats her well will receive tenfold kindness in return, but whoever dares harm her will certainly face retribution just as intense.

Seeing his wife’s scheming eyes, Gu Xu instantly realized what sort of idea she had in mind. He couldn’t help but silently mourn for Hattori Keiko, the one who just went upstairs. Of all the people she could provoke, why provoke the little witch of the Huo family? She would surely have a hard time now!

About a minute and a half later, Huo Sining finally led Gu Xu onto the elevator and directly pressed the button for the top floor once inside.

The building had six floors, mostly occupied by restaurants, with the top floor featuring only one century-old restaurant named Shichidenmei Kyosei, reputed to serve the most authentic Kobe beef in all of Dongdu.

Upon entering the restaurant, Huo Sining and Gu Xu were led by a waiter to a small booth divided by bamboo curtains, offering a view outside through glass on the left side but semi-enclosed on the right. Before entering the booth, Huo Sining looked around but couldn’t find her target, causing her to involuntarily furrow her brows in frustration.
