Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 961: Chapter 957: Acquiring the Machine Tool

Huo Sining didn’t really plan to transport via sea route; telling Ouyang Jun this was just a ruse to make him mistakenly believe they were taking the sea route.

Five machine tools are no small number. Even transporting them by sea route would be conspicuous, and taking the air route was even less possible. So, to avoid raising Ouyang Jun’s suspicions, she could only do this.

Shortly after contacting Ouyang Jun, he sent Huo Sining an address: ”They will deliver the goods to Qianye Fishing Village near Dongdu Port. There’s a beach and woods there, providing good cover and generally won’t attract attention.”

Huo Sining replied with a ”Got it,” indicating receipt and expressing no objection to the address Ouyang Jun provided.

In the evening, Huo Sining took a car directly to Qianye Fishing Village, rented a small fishing boat from a fisherman and parked it by the woods near the beach. One side was the coastal reef, conveniently blocking the boat from view and not drawing any notice.

Huo Sining sat in the fishing boat, enjoying the nighttime sea view of the Island Country while delighting in the food she brought from home.

Around eleven at night, Huo Sining was lulled by the sea breeze but was suddenly startled awake by an engine noise. She instinctively climbed out of the boat and looked towards the beach.

During this brief nap, two Honda cars had parked at the edge of the beach near the woods, followed by a large truck with five three-meter-tall cargo containers strapped on it.

No need to guess, those five large containers likely held the chain drive machine tools that Ouyang Jun urgently needed.

After the vehicle stopped, seven or eight people got out from the cars and truck, first killing the car lights and cutting the engines, then unloading two tracked carriers from the truck.

Under the glare of floodlights, the two tracked carriers worked simultaneously, and in about ten minutes, the people hustled the five large cargo containers down to the beach.

After completing the task, those people gathered in a corner of the beach, shining strong flashlights around, then sat down on the beach to smoke and occasionally chat.

Standing less than fifty meters away, Huo Sining could only vaguely hear sounds without making out what they were talking about.

However, what she cared about now wasn’t their conversation but the five cargo containers. She carefully crawled back onto the boat, her movement masked by the sound of waves, without attracting those people’s attention.

Back on the boat, Huo Sining quickly took out her phone. She intended to call Ouyang Jun, but worried the phone noise would alert those people or that the sound of waves might raise Ouyang Jun’s suspicions, she sent a message to him instead.

”My senior brother asked your classmate to have the delivery people leave.”

Huo Sining was confident that at this moment, Ouyang Jun was closely monitoring the shipment, and he couldn’t possibly miss her text.

As expected, once Ouyang Jun received Huo Sining’s message, he sprang from his seat with both excitement and tension, replying: ”Your senior brother arrived? I’ll have them leave here, but what about the goods...”

Huo Sining knew Ouyang Jun was worried about the safety of those machine tools and feared complications along the way, so she responded:

”Just get the people to leave, my senior brother and his crew have been there for a while. Once your goods are unloaded, they can take over. You know this isn’t a legit business, my senior brother is cautious about exposing his men, so it’s better not to have a direct handover.”

With things explained this far, Ouyang Jun naturally understood. People who live incognito in the city certainly have their own identities by day. Walking the path of the black market is like having a knife hanging over one’s head, one wrong step could be fatal. These are people who live under the knife and must be careful.

”Alright, I understand. I’ll make the call now to have them leave, then you can have your senior brother take action once they’re gone.”

Ouyang Jun hurriedly agreed, never having seen Huo Sining’s senior brother, but he trusted Huo Sining completely. Since this girl was so confident in asking him to withdraw, she must be able to ensure the shipment’s complete safety.

Indeed, less than a minute after Huo Sining hung up, a man in a suit smoking on the beach suddenly had his phone ring. The man quickly answered it; nobody knew what was said on the other end. The man looked at the pitch-black surroundings, frowned slightly but eventually nodded seriously, gesturing to the people behind him.

Following the man’s signal, the workers and drivers quickly climbed back into their vehicles. With engines roaring, the three vehicles swiftly left the scene, leaving only five over-three-meter-high boxes on the beach.

Huo Sining huddled on the fishing boat, waiting a good ten minutes to ensure those people wouldn’t come back before coming ashore and cautiously approaching the boxes through the woods.

The night was deep, and with overcast skies, Huo Sining’s movements were completely silent.

The five large boxes were tied with nylon rope, secured with clove hitch knots, standing quietly on the beach. Only upon approaching did Huo Sining realize each box was quite large. Although Ouyang Jun had told her the machine tools weren’t very big, from her estimate now, each machine must weigh at least ten tons.

For heavy industry, such machinery isn’t considered massive, but as smuggled goods, they are indeed quite large targets.

Huo Sining finally realized why getting these five big guys back home was so challenging for Ouyang Jun and Song Xiaochen.

Fortunately, Huo Sining’s storage ring had space for around thirty square meters, and she had emptied it completely for this smuggling operation. The ring was devoid of anything, making it amply sufficient to store these machine tools.

Scanning the surroundings in the night with her keen intuition confirming no one else was lurking around, she concentrated, pressing her hand on top of a cargo box.

With a sudden surge of thought, in an instant, a large cargo box vanished from her sight and appeared in Huo Sining’s storage ring. Following the same method, she stored the remaining four boxes, nodding in satisfaction before returning to the fishing boat.
