Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 964: Chapter 960 Stalking

Huo Sining shrugged and smiled, ”I’d also like to ask this gentleman, is there anything wrong with my student ID and passport?”

Nohara Policeman looked at Mrs. Fukuda, ”When did this young lady come to you?”

Mrs. Fukuda glanced at Huo Sining in surprise, ”Yesterday afternoon.”

”What did she come for?” Nohara Policeman continued questioning.

Mrs. Fukuda recounted how Huo Sining came to the fishing village to rent a fishing boat and went out to sea to catch fish for a birthday party for her classmates. Nohara Policeman seemed skeptical, staring at Huo Sining several more times.

Huo Sining smiled without explaining and directly pulled out a plastic bucket from one side of the corridor. Inside the clear water stood a net full of various kinds of fish and shrimp, all alive and lively, clearly caught from the sea the previous night.

The policeman was stunned; if Huo Sining was lying, this evidence was too perfect.

The net even contained fresh seaweed, and it was obvious that the dozen pounds of fish mixed together included some species that couldn’t be kept for long. Yet, these fish were still very lively and energetic, proving they were indeed caught last night and not randomly bought from the market to deceive people.

The policeman seemed surprised by this, continuing to ask Huo Sining a few inconsequential questions.

”How do you know the Qianye Fishing Village?”

”Where were you around eleven o’clock last night?”

”Why hold a birthday party by catching fish yourself instead of buying fresh ones from the market?”

”Are you an international student? Studying what major in Dongdu?”

”Did you come to the fishing village alone? What mode of transportation did you use? Do you know CNC machine tools?”

Nohara Sa asked tirelessly, trying to find a flaw in Huo Sining’s story, but she remained calm and answered fluently, making Nohara Sa feel his efforts were ineffectual.

Nohara Sa felt frustrated, as Huo Sining’s answers had no loopholes, making him more suspicious of this Huaxia student named Huo Sining.

Nohara Sa graduated from the Police Academy, gifted in apprehending criminals since childhood. His innate intuition was exceptionally sharp; he could always find the key issues from traces in any case he handled and track the suspects through his keen sense.

This is why, at just twenty-four, he effortlessly joined the Police Department as an official officer. When he saw Huo Sining, strange thoughts constantly flashed in his mind, indicating the CNC machine tools disappearance case might be related to this girl.

But his intuition is not evidence; even if he believed the girl was the suspect, without direct evidence, he couldn’t arrest her, even if he were the Police Department’s chief.

Nohara Sa’s mind raced, but he truly had no way to handle Huo Sining at the moment. He suppressed his inner turbulent emotions, smiled at her, returned her student ID and passport, and said with a smile:

”This is just our routine procedure. As police, our duty is to investigate every suspicious person. Miss, we hope you can understand; we’ve already looked into your situation. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Huo Sining took back her documents, smiled, and shook her head, ”Although I’m a Huaxia person, all Huaxia people are law-abiding good citizens. Cooperating with your Police Department’s work is my duty.”

Nohara Sa slightly pulled the corners of his mouth and then left with the policeman who accompanied him.

After they departed, Mrs. Fukuda patted her chest repeatedly and said to Huo Sining, ”Scared me to death; I thought something major happened. But I didn’t understand a word they said. What were those two policemen investigating?”

Huo Sining shook her head, ”Probably chasing some thief or robber; I’m not very sure either.”

Mrs. Fukuda laughed, ”Anyway, it’s good they didn’t suspect you. These policemen are hard to deal with; if they do suspect you, you’d have a rough time ahead.”

”Thanks to you, Mrs. Fukuda, for vouching for me. I’m a student and have never been to a police station. If they did suspect me, I wouldn’t know how to handle it.” Huo Sining said, feigning fear.

If those familiar with Huo Sining heard this, they’d probably curse her for being shameless.

Never been to a police station? Are you kidding? There’s not one in S City or Imperial Capital Police Station you haven’t visited. Even Hetian Police Station was turned upside down by you, let alone twice in S City and Imperial Capital, once causing military-government-police uproar and once requiring intervention by the top leader, causing quite a festivity!

But unfortunately, Mrs. Fukuda doesn’t know Huo Sining or realize this girl has mastered becoming an acting queen. Her panicked expression made Mrs. Fukuda truly believe the young girl was frightened.

Thinking the girl is not yet twenty years old and hasn’t experienced such things, she comforted:

”Since those two policemen have questioned you, it indicates no problems. You don’t need to worry. I don’t have much to offer, and it seems like something big happened in the fishing village last night. I suggest you quickly return to school to avoid trouble.”

Huo Sining nodded, ”Alright, thanks for your hospitality. Today’s breakfast was wonderful; if I have time next time, I’ll visit you again.”

Mrs. Fukuda smiled and waved her hand, sending Huo Sining to the courtyard door. Huo Sining carried that bucket of fresh fish, heading towards the village entrance without looking back.

Just less than a hundred meters from Mrs. Fukuda’s residence, a police car quietly emerged from the side of her courtyard wall. Inside were the two policemen who had come to investigate earlier.

”The girl is heading towards the fishing village entrance; seems like she’s planning to leave.” Said the policeman driving as he turned the steering wheel.

”Follow her!” Nohara Sa’s face darkened, his eyes fixed on the girl’s silhouette, as if by staring he could discover something from her.
