Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 959: Chapter 955: Treating a Dead Horse as if It Were Alive

Huo Sining’s prediction was accurate. Song Xiaochen stayed in Dongyang for nearly two weeks but couldn’t resolve the machine tool transportation issue. Upon hearing this news, Ouyang Jun and Qin Tian were greatly affected, and they were prepared to compromise with domestic machine tools, starting to contact several large domestic machine tool factories.

After calling Song Chaojing, Huo Sining immediately got in touch with Ouyang Jun.

”Sister-in-law, Dongyang is a money pit, you’ve almost forgotten about us here, haven’t you?”

Ouyang Jun’s words carried a mix of jest and subtle teasing.

Huo Sining had been in Dongdu for a month and indeed hadn’t contacted Ouyang Jun and the others, so hearing Ouyang Jun’s words, she felt a bit embarrassed: ”My schedule was too full here, so I didn’t have time to connect with you all. Brother Ouyang, please don’t take it to heart, I won’t forget you guys no matter what.”

Ouyang Jun snorted, seemingly still having some grievances, but he was just putting on an act. After exchanging a few pleasantries, he didn’t forget to bring up the matter of the Chicken Blood Stone from Changhua.

”Qin Tian and I have been busy with the machine tool project, almost driven to a breakdown. But Huizi told me the vein has been completely mined, those Chicken Blood Stones have been transported to the Imperial Capital and are now stored in Diecuiyuan.”

”According to Xu Zi, although those Chicken Blood Stones are top quality, they can’t just flood the market. Such a large number of top-quality Da Hong Pao entering the market will certainly impact the market price of Chicken Blood Stone. So, to maximize the benefits of these Chicken Blood Stones, we need to take a long-term view and release them bit by bit to realize their greatest value.”

Huo Sining didn’t care much about the Chicken Blood Stone mine. She had invested the money, leaving the rest to Gu Xu and his brothers. She hadn’t planned on getting involved, letting those men handle it. So upon hearing Ouyang Jun’s words, she had no other thoughts, just nodded casually, and said absentmindedly:

”You guys handle it. I don’t have any opinions, whether more or less profit, it’s all free money.”

Hearing Huo Sining’s casual remark, Ouyang Jun couldn’t help but marvel at Gu Xu’s wife’s remarkable generosity. Such a large Chicken Blood Stone mine, even sold at a base price, is worth over a billion. Yet this girl seemed not to care at all. It’s unclear if she’s naturally carefree or simply regards money as dirt.

Regardless, being unmoved by so much money, her demeanor and magnanimity were admirable to Ouyang Jun, as even someone with his background couldn’t remain as unperturbed as Huo Sining.

”I called to ask about your machine tool project. I met Song Xiaochen’s sister, Song Chaojing, recently. She said Song Xiaochen went to Dongyang to help solve the machine tool issue but the outcome wasn’t ideal. What are your plans for this?”

Upon hearing Huo Sining mention this, Ouyang Jun felt a bit annoyed: ”I’ve been worried about this issue lately. We’ve invested money into the project and can’t just give up halfway; otherwise, the money would go to waste. But the machine tool issue is the most crucial aspect without which the factory can’t operate.”

Huo Sining was curious why Ouyang Jun rejected domestic machine tools, even if they had shortcomings, and invested so much money and manpower in smuggling Dongyang machine tools:

”Brother Ouyang, I’ve always wondered what exactly your factory plans to produce that needs such precise tools. And why did you choose to cooperate with Song Xiaochen initially?”

Ouyang Jun hesitated for a moment before vaguely explaining: ”I can’t disclose much, but I can tell you our factory is set up on a private island. Song Xiaochen has a private island in Nansha, which is large and isolated from others, so we leased it. We’ve negotiated collaboration agreements with the military and aviation base.”

Ouyang Jun spoke concisely, but Huo Sining, being perceptive, understood the confidentiality when he mentioned collaboration with military and aviation sectors and didn’t probe further.

Involving national matters, Huo Sining wasn’t interested, fearing trouble. But she vaguely understood why Ouyang Jun exerted such effort in Dongyang’s machine tools. Military and aviation demand absolute precision in every component without any margin for error, standards currently unattainable by domestic machine tools.

”Why did I tell you all this? Anyway, it’s reached a dead-end. Qin Tian and I are at a loss, with no other option but to collaborate with domestic machine tool manufacturers. Otherwise, the plan will abort, but after investing so much money, I just can’t reconcile!”

Ouyang Jun scratched his head intensely over the phone, messing up his black hair into a bird’s nest.

Just as Ouyang Jun was about to hang up, a faint female voice came from the other end of the line: ”Maybe I can help you give it a try.”

Ouyang Jun’s hand holding the phone paused, eyes widening in disbelief as he glanced at the call interface on his screen to ensure the call hadn’t ended. Still incredulous, he stammered: ”Did you just say something, was it my imagination?”

Huo Sining chuckled: ”You didn’t hear wrong; I said I might help you give it a try.”

Ouyang Jun was completely stunned: ”You? You can bring those machine tools back? How? By sea?”

Huo Sining laughed: ”You don’t need to worry about the transportation method; I’ll definitely get them back for you. I’ve met some people from Dongyang recently, and maybe I can ask them to help.”

Ouyang Jun fell silent after hearing this. It’s not that he didn’t believe Huo Sining, but despite the strict controls by Dongyang, neither Qin Tian, Song Xiaochen’s connections nor their efforts were effective. Huo Sining had only been in Dongyang for a short month; even with a few acquaintances, what could they accomplish?

Seeing Ouyang Jun remain silent, Huo Sining didn’t give up and directly said:

”You said it’s a dead-end; why not let me try? You can’t solve it, so it’s worth giving it another shot, isn’t it?”
