Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 976: Chapter 972: The Shadow in the Old House

Ouyang Jun could certainly empathize with Master He’s feelings. Recently, his factory had acquired two domestic machine tools, but the resulting product quality was not ideal. Now, after Master He’s inspection and confirmation, Ouyang Jun’s anxious heart could finally rest easy.

He laughed and said to Master He, ”Haha, Master He, remember what I said when I recruited you to our company? I promised you’d get to touch the real machines, see, I kept my word, didn’t I?”

Master He nodded, his eyes moist as he carefully inspected each machine tool, afraid of missing any detail.

Over here, Ouyang Jun earnestly thanked Huo Sining, ”Sister-in-law, you’ve really helped me a lot this time. I was about to collapse—just a few days ago, the military department over there was inquiring about the situation, almost canceling the order. This cooperative project took my father and me extreme effort to secure. If it had been ruined in my hands, my old man would have been absolutely furious.”

Saying this, Ouyang Jun let out a long sigh, his face showing an indescribable sense of comfort and pride:

”Now it’s all good, with these five machines, the factory can be said to have upgraded significantly. We can handle more orders, and I guarantee they’ll all be top-quality products!”

”Is it really as exaggerated as you say?” Huo Sining didn’t quite understand, feeling that Ouyang Jun made these machines sound extraordinary.

Ouyang Jun chuckled, ”Of course it is. Do you know how many countries are trying to get their hands on Dongyang’s coordinated machine tools? These machines, even if you count all of Huaxia, you won’t find a sixth one. Isn’t that exaggerated? Dongyang people are way smarter than us; they regard this technology more important than life, and their export controls are stringent enough that not even a fly can escape their grasp. That’s why I say I’m impressed; your senior brother is truly a big shot to manage to bring such things over unawares!”

At this point, Ouyang Jun suddenly remembered something he seemed to overlook, ”Speaking of which, these machines are so heavy. Who did you find to transport them to this remote place? And where are the delivery master and unloading workers? I haven’t seen any of them.”

Huo Sining flickered her gaze slightly and explained with a smile, ”They left right after delivering the goods. The delivery workers are contacts my senior brother has domestically. My senior brother follows Sect rules and wouldn’t let his people have direct contact with you.”

Upon hearing this explanation from Huo Sining, Ouyang Jun showed a knowing expression and refrained from probing further into the specifics. He didn’t even ask more about how these goods were transported back, merely chuckling and saying, ”That’s a pity, I was thinking of treating those masters to a meal.”

After the goods were inspected and confirmed problem-free, the workers packed those machine tools back into their boxes. As for how they would be transported next, and how they’d be moved to Song Xiaochen’s private island, that was not something Huo Sining needed to worry about. Ouyang Jun trusted Master He exceptionally, handing this task directly to him, while he himself drove Huo Sining’s car back to the city.

According to the previously agreed price, Ouyang Jun directly transferred the commission of ten million to Huo Sining’s account:

”Your senior brother won’t show up, surely won’t disclose his bank account either. So, I’ll leave this money to you. You can liaise with your senior brother.”

Huo Sining nodded silently and accepted the ten million, inwardly thinking, who would actually hate having more money? Helping Ouyang Jun get those five machine tools was certainly a considerable achievement. Moreover, judging from Ouyang Jun’s tone, these machines would likely bring unknown benefits to his project. She accepted the ten million deservedly, with no regrets.

”The matter of the machine tools, it’s truly thanks to your help. Without you telling me about your capable senior brother, my project would probably have died in infancy and come to nothing. Today, I’m happy. Let’s go, we must have a grand feast to celebrate! Enjoy some good food and drink to treat our great contributor!”

Huo Sining wouldn’t be polite with Ouyang Jun. This guy is certainly well-off, and with these new machine tools, his new project will surely rise swiftly, perhaps by next year, this person will be even more arrogant and successful.

After a grand feast, Huo Sining successfully got Ouyang Jun drunk. She looked smugly at the incredibly drunk Ouyang Jun and laughed, ”Trying to drink against me, didn’t you know your Sister can’t be drunk by a thousand cups?”

Ouyang Jun drank too much, unable to respond to Huo Sining at all. She patted him a few times, seeing he was truly unconscious from drinking, she started to worry, quickly calling Qin Tian. Qin Tian wasn’t in Imperial Capital, but he knew the number to Ouyang Jun’s home security officer, hurriedly called them to pick up Ouyang Jun.

Huo Sining waited at the restaurant, and when the security officer saw she had also been drinking, insisted on taking her home.

Imperial Capital had strict checks, Huo Sining was sure she wasn’t drunk, but if caught by traffic police while driving, it would still be troublesome, hence she didn’t decline further. Leaving her car in the restaurant parking lot, she seated herself in the car of Ouyang Jun’s security officer.

After setting off, the security officer asked where Huo Sining wanted to go, she provided the address of her family’s old house. The officer, unaware of Huo Sining’s identity, was somewhat surprised knowing she resided in the siheyuan in Chang’an Street Lao Huai Hutong. Being locals, they all know such houses are ancient antiques, heritage registered, normally impossible for regular people to live in.

The officer scrutinized Huo Sining, pondering which family’s heiress she might be, perhaps the young lord’s newly met girlfriend? Should he report this to the old master?

Oblivious to the officer’s mental speculations, Huo Sining dozed off once seated, falling into a muddled sleep until the officer’s call woke her.

Awakened by the officer’s nudge, the officer embarrassingly said, ”Miss Huo, sorry about this, the car’s too big to drive into the alley, we’ve stopped here, you’ll have to walk a bit.”

Huo Sining nodded, stepped out, and headed towards her home. The officer offered to accompany her, but she waved him off, as it was just a short walk from the alley to her door, she certainly didn’t want to trouble the officer further.

Groggily, Huo Sining pulled out the keys from her storage ring, opened the home’s door, and upon entry, she saw a shadow flash in the courtyard, darting into the rear yard in a few swift movements.
