Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 999: Chapter 995: Master Hacker

When Yu Fei first received the task from Gu Xu, he thought Gu Xu was joking.

”Hack the security system of the Dongyang Museum? Captain, are you sure you got that right?”

Hearing the doubt in his voice, Gu Xu typed a few words in their special chat room: This is a personal operation of mine. I need your help. If you’re willing, step up; if not, I’ll find someone else.

”I’m willing, definitely willing, but Captain, you have to first tell me what you plan to do by hacking the museum’s security system. I need some basic understanding to figure out where to start.”

Gu Xu frowned, hesitated a bit, and looked at Huo Sining: ”Yu Fei is one of my men, trustworthy. Can we tell him about this?”

Huo Sining nodded: ”As long as he’s reliable, go ahead. Just don’t disclose too much, and ensure he doesn’t interfere excessively. Keep it confidential.”

Gu Xu smiled: ”Of course, my men are the top scouts. There won’t be any slip-ups in this kind of matter.”

With that, he typed a message in the chat window:

Lately, there’s been a lot of noise from the Dongyang side. Some seniors can’t stand it anymore and want to teach those overconfident Dongyang guys a lesson. I’ve found someone and plan to set up the Dongyang Museum. At that time, you’ll need to hack the museum’s surveillance and security systems and try to keep them down for as long as possible.

After reading that message, Yu Fei’s mouth dropped open. But this guy had been recruited into Falcon from being a freelance hacker. Before being recruited, he was never honest, moving freely around systems and websites in various countries, hacking countless companies and departments.

Since joining Falcon, his inherent restlessness had been forcibly suppressed by military training. Now, hearing what Gu Xu said, there was no way Yu Fei wouldn’t cooperate. His eyes lit up instantly, blood rushing through his body like he’d just been injected with adrenaline, suddenly bursting with excitement:

Captain, I’ll take this job. Rest assured, there will be absolutely no problems! And I promise not to divulge a single word, keeping it completely hidden from the squad.

In this aspect, Gu Xu trusted Yu Fei, as he was a soldier whom he’d personally mentored. Yu Fei’s loyalty was unquestionable, and Gu Xu also understood his nature; faced with something fun and thrilling like this, Yu Fei wouldn’t refuse.

But Gu Xu still had some concerns:

The museums on the Dongyang side mostly use intranet systems, which are generally closed networks. They’re quite challenging to infiltrate. Can you manage it on your side?

Faced with a technical challenge and Gu Xu’s doubt, Yu Fei was immediately displeased, his neck stiffening in urgency to argue:

Come on, Captain, have I not followed you all these years? Don’t you trust my skills? Watch this!

Gu Xu wanted to ask more, but before he could react, Yu Fei suddenly went offline. Gu Xu thought his question might have upset Yu Fei. Unexpectedly, about ten minutes later, that brat popped back up in the chat window, looking smug:

”I just tried one casually and got the permissions quite easily. This kind of local area network isn’t too hard to crack. Once you get to the intranet PC, scan the structure, obtain the intranet topology, and find the router to obtain the core admin access. It isn’t difficult. However, the museum’s security system I just hacked had an encryption algorithm, which took me some time to unlock; otherwise, I could’ve done it in five minutes.”

Huo Sining, sitting beside, was stunned by Yu Fei’s words and immediately gestured for Gu Xu to ask Yu Fei which museum he hacked.

Gu Xu complied, and Yu Fei, in a very calm tone, said, ”Just that Dongyang National Museum, the biggest one.”

Huo Sining thought Yu Fei randomly picked a small county museum to test the waters, but to their surprise, he hacked the National Museum right off the bat. Seeing his disdainful look, Huo Sining almost choked on his surprise, coughing repeatedly.

It seemed Gu Xu’s words about Yu Fei being a legendary hacker in Red League weren’t exaggerated at all; this guy indeed had some impressive skills.

However, Gu Xu was a bit worried: you need to curb your rash nature. I haven’t given you any order yet, and you’ve already gone ahead to hack the National Museum’s system. What if they find out? We can’t afford to be careless. If we alert them, the subsequent plans might go down the drain.

Yu Fei chuckled: ”No worries, I just went in to check things out. They won’t notice me. I used five layers of jump-off points and erased all traces. But I didn’t dare stay too long in their server; these museum security systems have staff on duty, checking every half hour. If they find any irregularities, even if they can’t trace me, they might activate temporary protection measures. By then, the entire museum would become a sealed cage, not even a fly could escape. If someone does get in, leaving would be next to impossible.”

Hearing Yu Fei’s words, Gu Xu felt a tightness in his chest and instinctively looked up at Huo Sining, as if asking if this was too risky, perhaps they shouldn’t proceed.

Huo Sining smiled, reached out, and held Gu Xu’s hand, interlocking their fingers, her eyes full of confidence and desire: ”It’s okay; as long as he can hold on, we’ll act accordingly when the time comes.”

Gu Xu frowned, ”How about I go with you guys too...”

Huo Sining laughed, ”If you go with us, who’s going to command and coordinate from the outside? Stop worrying unnecessarily. My senior has a meticulous plan, so there won’t be any problems!”

For such a task, Huo Sining was enough. Even if there was danger, she had her Invisibility Skill. Bringing Gu Xu along might hamper her performance, so she wouldn’t let him join.

Gu Xu was helpless but agreed to Huo Sining’s request. However, from his past experience and professional habits, he still asked Yu Fei to find ways to obtain the detailed maps and artifact information of those major museums, just in case.

Huo Sining hadn’t considered this until Gu Xu provided those detailed materials, making her realize her plan lacked something crucial. Without the information Gu Xu provided, even if she managed to get into the museum, she’d be as aimless as a headless fly without any direction.

It was at this moment she realized, having a reliable boyfriend really was important!
