Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 965: Chapter 961 Surveillance

The road from Qianye Fishing Village to the exit is a full two kilometers. The Huaxia girl walked intermittently, with a police car following leisurely behind her, always keeping a distance of fifty meters or more.

”Mr. Yehara, I don’t understand, why are we following this little girl? Even though she’s a Huaxia person, didn’t we just inquire with her? Her answers were fine. Are you overthinking this?”

The policeman driving the car wasn’t part of the group of older officers from last night, and he had a fairly good relationship with Nohara Sa. He was generally very amiable, so he couldn’t comprehend what was driving Nohara Sa to tail a young girl.

Nohara Sa sneered, ”It’s because there are no problems that it’s the biggest problem. Such a girl, not even twenty, facing police questions, was so calm without a hint of panic or fear. Don’t you find it strange? Her answers were indeed perfect, flawless. But the more so, the more one feels there’s something wrong with her!”

Hearing Nohara Sa’s response, the policeman was taken aback. Thinking more carefully, even Mrs. Fukuda was nervous when they entered her room, yet the girl looked as usual, neither surprised nor scared, as if everything was within her expectations.

Upon closer thought, the policeman also found Huo Sining’s behavior odd and abnormal, though he frowned,

”But even if the girl’s responses were pre-planned, we have no evidence to arrest her. Besides, she’s just a girl. If she doesn’t have accomplices, how could she move something weighing over ten tons?”

Nohara Sa laughed, ”That’s why I’m following her. If the girl has no issues, then so be it. But if she is related to this smuggling case, she’ll slip up eventually.”

”Slip up? What kind of slip-up?” The policeman looked puzzled.

Nohara Sa didn’t show impatience but explained seriously, ”Although the machines have been moved to a different storage location, they’re still in Dongyang. If these people are to smuggle them out of the country, they’ll definitely find a way to move them to the port’s customs. If this girl is involved, she’ll definitely contact those smugglers, so...”

The policeman immediately realized, ”So you’re saying we should keep an eye on this girl and wait for the snake to show its head?”

Nohara Sa nodded, ”Exactly. What we need to do now is to closely monitor every move of this Huaxia girl. I refuse to believe we can’t catch her mistake.”

Huo Sining carried a plastic bucket to the village entrance. This place was remote, and there were few outsiders visiting the village, making it hard to encounter a taxi. She waited at the entrance for nearly ten minutes before finally stopping a passing private car.

”Excuse me, sir, I’m sorry to bother you. Are you heading to the city? Could you please give me a lift?”

After gaining the driver’s consent, Huo Sining happily opened the door and got in. As the door closed, she glanced at the police car parked dozens of meters away, a slight smile cracking her lips.

”Remember the license plate number and investigate this private car. Check if there’s any connection between the owner and the girl!”

The police car tailed the private car all the way to the city. After arriving, Huo Sining got out and took a taxi straight to Waseda University, not interacting with anyone along the way, making Nohara Sa frown deeply.

”I need to return to the fishing village for another search. You call in someone else to closely watch Huo Sining. If anything unusual happens, call me immediately. Also, wherever this girl goes and whomever she meets, record everything for thorough investigation, no omission allowed.”

Nohara Sa stared darkly and obsessively at Waseda University’s gate, determined to the point of paranoia.

After returning to the dormitory, Huo Sining couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat. She had noticed the police were following her along the way, but she had to maintain her composure, afraid of slipping up and being noticed by those two policemen.

On the way back, she felt the sweat drenching her back. After taking a shower in the dorm, she hastily opened her computer and quickly messaged Ouyang Jun on QQ.

”The items have been safely transferred, and the plan is proceeding as usual. However, it seems like the police are onto me, so let’s not contact each other for the next few days.”

Ouyang Jun was anxious without a call from Huo Sining. Suddenly seeing her QQ message, he became a bit panicked and asked worriedly, ”Are you okay?”

Huo Sining replied, ”I’m fine. I’m just an honest international student. Even if investigated, they can’t find anything on me. Without evidence, they can’t arrest me. Don’t worry, I’m planning to return home for a short trip. We’ll talk then.”

”Alright, take care and stay safe,” Ouyang Jun replied.

After this, Huo Sining quickly uninstalled QQ and erased any traces of communication with Ouyang Jun on her computer, even restoring her phone to factory settings.

Though she felt the Dongyang police wouldn’t come to seize her personal items as evidence, Huo Sining still destroyed any potential evidence that might threaten her safety, just in case.

Just after finishing that, the Police Department in Dongdu had someone pull up Huo Sining’s personal information and swiftly tracked down her phone number for strict monitoring. Moreover, two men in plain clothes appeared in inconspicuous corners inside Waseda University, closely watching everyone going in and out of the dormitories.

Unaware of this, Huo Sining went about her days as usual, attending classes, visiting antique shops, and occasionally watching a movie. Her life was peaceful, no different from other international students.

A few days later, it was Hinata Chinatsu’s birthday. Huo Sining and Nara Nigawa threw her a fresh seafood barbecue birthday party outdoors, inviting a few close classmates and friends to join.

The day after Hinata Chinatsu’s birthday, Huo Sining received a call from Feng Jinglin, informing her that the re-entry visa had been arranged and asking to meet at their usual spot.

The so-called usual spot was the Chinese restaurant where Huo Sining had previously met Feng Jinglin for a meal. She went there with two tails quietly trailing her.

Upon meeting Feng Jinglin, the two conversed happily. Huo Sining mentioned her plans to return to the country, which Feng Jinglin understood and handed her the re-entry visa. After thinking for a moment, he asked, ”Could you do me a favor when you go back?”
