Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 638: Chapter 635: The Fragrance of Sweet Osmanthus in July

Huo Sining had obtained Yan Xuesong’s consent, and Zhao Guotian couldn’t deny Yan Xuesong face.

Besides, he had never held any hope for the Old Golden Osmanthus, but after hearing Huo Sining’s words and seeing her confidence, Zhao Guotian suddenly became curious about Huo Sining’s mysterious flower expert and immediately nodded in agreement.

Three months, in the opinion of Zhao Guotian and Yan Xuesong, if the Old Golden Osmanthus could really come back to life, that would indeed qualify as expert work.

However, they didn’t know that Huo Sining had a heaven-defying cheating device. Reviving an Old Golden Osmanthus to become a healthy plant would only take a single night.

If she wasn’t afraid of being seen through, let alone three months, even three days would have been enough for Huo Sining to work her magic.

The Golden Osmanthus was moved onto the car by Huo Sining, while Qin Shaoyou’s gaze lingered on her, filled with surprise and skepticism.

On the side, Qin Shaoyou hadn’t spoken a word. Since Huo Sining had made the bet with Zhao Guotian and Yan Xuesong, Qin Shaoyou had seemed out of it.

Tian Yuan glanced between Qin Shaoyou and Huo Sining, sensing something was amiss. He couldn’t help but nudge Qin Shaoyou’s shoulder and curiously asked,

”What’s wrong?”

Qin Shaoyou snapped back to reality, smiled, and shook his head, but his gaze remained fixed on Huo Sining, his eyes dark and profound.

For some reason, ever since he heard that Huo Sining claimed to know a flower expert, Qin Shaoyou had a strong intuition that Huo Sining was lying!

Qin Shaoyou clearly remembered the first time he met this girl, Huo Sining, at Mrs. Xu’s house, when she asked for that dying angelfish with similar reasoning, right?

Yet afterward, that angelfish was replaced by another, and the girl transformed herself into an ornamental fish shop owner, not to mention breeding authentic Huaxia Koi.

This left Qin Shaoyou somewhat mystified; he wasn’t certain whether the friend who was an expert at raising fish and flowers was a real person or if it referred to her herself.

Qin Shaoyou felt that Huo Sining was shrouded in secrets. He couldn’t see through her, yet was uncontrollably attracted to her.

Perhaps, to determine whether the friend who was the flower expert she mentioned was real, they could only wait until the three months were up, and see the condition of the Golden Osmanthus then.

Watching Huo Sining signal the staff to move the Golden Osmanthus to her car, Qin Shaoyou’s eyes flashed with a mischievous light, a hint of mockery on his lips.

He clearly saw a triumphant smile in Huo Sining’s eyes that carried the same satisfaction as a fox would have after a successful hunt.

”Do you think this girl’s friend can really save this flower?”

As soon as Huo Sining left, Zhao Guotian tugged on Yan Xuesong’s sleeve and asked.

Yan Xuesong shook his head, ”This flower is too far gone, the chances of survival are slim, and even if it could be revived, three months is too rushed.”

”But no matter what, there’s no loss for you, right? If the flower lives, you’ll gain a good reputation, it could serve as a stunt, and you might even get a better plant in the future.”

”If it doesn’t survive, the other party has promised to compensate you tenfold, you could just sit back and earn a large sum of money.”

Clearly, Yan Xuesong was mocking him, and Zhao Guotian immediately let out a disdainful snort, retorting,

”I’m not afraid of any loss; I hardly care about the money. It’s just that some people fear for their reputations,” Huo Sining said.

”If the plant that you sentenced to death revives in someone else’s hands, wouldn’t that be a blatant slap in the face of those people?”

Yan Xuesong was immediately choked with rage, knowing that Zhao Guotian was deliberately provoking him. He couldn’t simply acquiesce to Zhao Guotian’s wishes:

”There’s always someone better out there. If there truly is someone who can save that Old Golden Osmanthus, and that person doesn’t mind, I, Yan Xuesong, am willing to concede the bet and become their disciple!”

Little did Huo Sining know, she was merely trying to save the Golden Osmanthus, while on the other side, Yan Xuesong had already made a solemn vow, ready to take her as his mentor.

Since she had boasted in front of Yan Xuesong, she didn’t want to lose face. After she brought the Old Golden Osmanthus home, Huo Sining couldn’t wait to start dealing with it.

But once she got home, she became a bit worried.

The root ball of the Old Golden Osmanthus was not small; it would not be easy to remove from the pot.

Smashing the pot was not an option either; otherwise, when she moved it back in three months, Zhao Guotian would see a different pot and could very well deny that it was the same plant.

With no other choice, Huo Sining had to use a small gardening hoe to patiently dig out the soil until all of it was out of the pot.

Once the root of the Old Golden Osmanthus became loose, Huo Sining gave a strong pull and finally managed to uproot the entire plant.

A foul smell hit her as she did, and when she looked down at the roots, as expected, a large part of the main root had rotted away. A gentle squeeze turned it into a pile of mushy mud.

The Old Golden Osmanthus was not planted properly; lack of thorough watering led to a loss of vitality in the roots and a decreased ability to absorb nutrients.

Additionally, the unexpected standing water prevented the roots from getting enough oxygen, ultimately causing the main root to die and the entire Old Golden Osmanthus to suffer from insufficient water supply, leading to problems in nutrient transportation.

Once the root cause was determined, the rest was relatively easy. To revitalize the branches, all that was needed was to make the roots regenerate, and the Old Golden Osmanthus would be brought back from the brink of death.

While this might seem like an impossible feat to others, to Huo Sining, it was all too simple.

After transplanting the Old Golden Osmanthus roughly, Huo Sining used the Spirit of Azure Pearl to infuse the plant with Spiritual Energy.

Soon, the Golden Osmanthus appeared to be reborn. The previously foul-smelling roots gradually recovered, and the rotting fibrous roots began to heal bit by bit.

Huo Sining poured Spiritual Energy into the plant as if it cost her nothing. Before long, not only did the roots heal, but branches that had previously died began to recover, and sparse, leafless limbs re-grew leaves which, at the edges, had begun to yellow. These leaves turned green once again.

In just over ten minutes, everywhere Huo Sining looked turned verdant. The previously dead branches regained their fullness, and new buds even appeared.

The crown of the Osmanthus was now full of new leaves, and older leaves regained their lush green vitality, which was undeniable, even to a layman. Huo Sining was wholly aware that she had revived the Old Golden Osmanthus.

Now, the Old Golden Osmanthus was drastically different from the one from the previous night, with every withering yellow branch sprouting new leaves, the whole plant looking lush and bursting with vitality.

Furthermore, although the blooming season for Osmanthus in August had not arrived, the Old Golden Osmanthus now displayed a smattering of buds after repair through Spiritual Energy. Clusters of golden yellow flower buds exuded a strong fragrance of Osmanthus!
