Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 610: Chapter 608: The Booth Has Been Canceled

On the day the new Jade Beauty store opened, there were plenty of people who came to support the opening, including Zhou Shitao and Song Chunxue who had flowers delivered to the store. Because the quality and designs of the products in the store were more upscale than other jewelry stores, Jade Beauty became an instant hit in Wangfujing on its opening day.

The Imperial Capital is never short of wealthy people who pursue a high-end lifestyle, and their demands for jadeite jewelry were almost harsh.

But Jade Beauty was exactly capable of meeting the picky requirements of these esteemed ladies, so through word of mouth, the store quickly became famous throughout the Imperial Capital.

Seizing the momentum, Huo Sining and Bai Yishan’s next target was naturally to make the Jade Beauty brand well-known. They set their sights on the international jewelry exhibition to be held at the end of June in Capital Pan Family Garden.

This was a significant event. At the international jewelry exhibition, not only domestic but also many foreign jewelry companies would be desperate to participate, making the competition fiercely intense.

Similarly, under this high competitive pressure, the influence brought by the jewelry exhibition was also unprecedentedly huge. If they could make an appearance at this exhibition, Jade Beauty would not only gain the attention of domestic consumers but also access to a vast international market space.

This plan had been set by Bai Yishan a long time ago, and she had registered for a booth on the official website well in advance.

If Jade Beauty had only been nestled in a small Antique Street in S City, Bai Yishan might not have had such great ambition, but now with the branch store in the Imperial Capital opened, she had changed her perspective. If they were going to do it, they must grow the brand large. How could they proceed with trepidation?

What caught Bai Yishan and Huo Sining off guard was that just as they had been preparing for two months and were completely ready, Bai Yishan suddenly received a phone call from the Imperial Capital Jade Association.

The staff member on the phone told Bai Yishan that due to some restrictions on the participating jewelry companies, their reserved booth had been canceled.

”Restrictions? What does that mean? The announcement on the official website clearly stated that any legally registered jewelry company could sign up on a first-come, first-served basis. And now they’re telling me it’s canceled?!”

Bai Yishan was about to explode with anger when she received the call.

Su Qingqing curled her lips in frustration: ”What else could it mean? As you said, with limited spots for the jewelry exhibition, the Jade Association would definitely favor the larger brands. They hardly take a small studio like yours seriously. Maybe some company found a connection and went through the back door, taking your spot just like that.”

Their spot taken just like that? Hearing Su Qingqing’s words, Huo Sining couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

”So what do we do now? It’s already the 23rd, and the jewelry exhibition starts in five days. Can we still secure a booth?”

Bai Yishan was both angry and worried. At this point, she figured that the exhibition arrangements and procedures must have already been finalized, and getting a booth at this point would likely be very difficult.

Huo Sining was also annoyed about their booth being taken, but unlike Bai Yishan, she wasn’t as anxious and instead comforted her:

”Don’t worry, I’ll take care of this. You just need to arrange for the staff and get the items we need for the exhibition. We don’t have much time left, so we need to complete the remaining preparations as quickly as possible.”

”This... who are you going to ask for help? Surely not your family member?” Bai Yishan asked, puzzled.

Huo Sining smiled and shook her head: ”Even if he got involved, it might not be of any help, but the person I’m going to ask will definitely be able to make the decision.”

Bai Yishan and Su Qingqing exchanged glances, both clueless about who Huo Sining was referring to.

Huo Sining smiled, no longer keeping them in suspense, and took out her cell phone to make a call.

”Huo girl, what brings you to call this old man today?” Qin Lianshan answered the call with a chuckle.

Huo Sining smiled slightly: ”Grandpa Qin, I wouldn’t ask if it weren’t important. I’m calling to ask for a favor.”

”What favor? Say it. If I can help, this old man surely won’t refuse.”

Because Qin Lianshan had been in a good mood since he smoothly took the Jin-threaded Jade Clothing in Tengchong, he had a fondness for Huo Sining, who had helped with the acquisition. He had been looking for a chance to return the favor, and now that Huo Sining was seeking help, he wouldn’t turn her down.

”Here’s the thing, I’ve partnered with someone to start a small jewelry company, specializing in jadeite and jade jewelry. Isn’t the Jade Association hosting a jewelry exhibition in Panjiayuan at the end of June? We registered on the official website.” Huo Sining explained with a smile.

Qin Lianshan laughed when he heard Huo Sining’s words: ”That’s great news. What’s the name of your company? I’ll bring people to support you at the exhibition!”

Qin Lianshan assumed Huo Sining was asking him to help promote her company and readily agreed.

Huo Sining replied with a smile, ”The most important thing right now isn’t that. We’ve been getting ready for two months to participate in this jewelry exhibition, and everything was in order. But I just got a notice that our previously booked booth has been canceled.”

”What? Canceled? Why was it canceled?” Qin Lianshan was puzzled to hear this.

”They said we don’t meet the exhibition’s condition restrictions,” Huo Sining stated calmly.

Qin Lianshan knew something fishy must be going on when he heard this, and got angry right away:

”Nonsense, there are no such restrictions for this jewelry exhibition! Any legitimate jewelry company can participate. I oversaw the distribution of the documents myself. These scoundrels are pulling some underhanded scheme! What’s your company’s name?”

”Jade Beauty,” Huo Sining quickly responded.

”Alright, I got it. You wait, I will check into this for you. This booth was canceled for no good reason. I want to see who had the audacity to do so!” Qin Lianshan said, his voice puffing with anger. He hung up without waiting for a response from Huo Sining.

As Huo Sining heard the sound of the call disconnecting, she instinctively touched her nose, sparing a thought for the unfortunate soul about to face Qin Lianshan’s wrath.

Not even five minutes later, Qin Lianshan called again. Although his tone was relatively calm, Huo Sining could clearly sense the anger he was keeping in check.

”Girl, I’ve sorted out the booth issue for you. Your side will receive a notice. The association will notify you in the next couple of days to come and sign the agreement!”

”Alright, thank you in advance,” Huo Sining replied with a smile.
