Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 622: Chapter 619: I’ll Make Sure You Are Compensated!

The manager grimaced, unable to speak, and seemed at a loss.

As the manager in charge here, with the boss absent, such unlucky matters inevitably fell onto his shoulders.

The manager felt that he must have forgotten to check the almanac today, as it clearly wasn’t a good day to go out, otherwise, how could he have encountered such a troublesome woman!

That woman who had been supporting the manager and saying that Huo Sining couldn’t afford the jewelry started to mutter again:

”The manager already said it can’t be opened, yet you insist on opening it. If you open it, we will not take responsibility!”

Huo Sining scoffed, giving the woman a look as if she were brain-dead:

”So opening it means it’s no longer your product? Or are you saying that with a pair of pliers, I’ve managed to damage the hardest diamonds in the world? I’d like to know what kind of logic this is. You sell me fake goods, yet you don’t allow me to open it and see? Do you think you can just sell fakes and forbid me from using my own money to expose the fraud? There’s no such thing as an ’Overlord Clause’ in this world, right?”

The woman was left speechless and annoyed by Huo Sining’s retort, glaring at her resentfully.

Huo Sining shrugged her shoulders: ”Fine, if you’re not going to take responsibility, I’ll find someone who will. I refuse to believe that reason can’t prevail in this place!”

As she said this, she turned her head to ask Ouyang Jun, ”What’s the phone number for the Jade Association’s complaint hotline? Hurry and call them, and it’s probably best to call the Industrial and Commercial Bureau too. I’d like to know if the officials care at all about my purchase of a defective product for 580,000!”

There was a cunning glint in Huo Sining’s eyes as she spoke.

She wasn’t really going to call the Industrial and Commercial Bureau, knowing that the jewelry exhibition was hosted by the Jade Association. If the Commercial Bureau was brought in by Huo Sining on the very first day of the exhibition, it might be over before it even began—a slap in the face to the Jade Association.

However, Huo Sining’s tactic clearly worked; the manager’s complexion instantly turned ashen, forcing a stiff smile as he said eagerly:

”Miss, we can talk this over, let’s discuss it amicably!”

The sales ladies were also beginning to realize the seriousness of the situation.

In the past, they had encountered several similar incidents where customers bought diamond products and soon after came back demanding a refund, but those were transactions not exceeding fifty thousand, so they didn’t pay much attention.

Yet, there had never been an issue with large transactions worth hundreds of thousands like with Huo Sining’s case.

Firstly, the diamonds were all crafted to perfection, and their high price usually dispelled any doubts in people’s minds;

Secondly, most customers didn’t understand diamonds and were just seeking vanity, with no one daring to take the risk of spending hundreds of thousands to open up permanently mounted jewelry.

Unfortunately for them, they had encountered the stubborn bull that was Huo Sining. If the manager had properly dealt with the issue when she first discovered it, and if the sales clerks hadn’t mocked her, Huo Sining might have let it go.

But since they looked down on her, Huo Sining didn’t mind spending a bit more to show them what a real defective product looked like!

After all, she was wealthy and extravagant—when you have money, you can be capricious like that!

Huo Sining’s imposing attitude left the manager with no way out. The deal had already been sealed with an official invoice; all procedures were completed, and the appraisal certificate and invoice had been handed over to Huo Sining, who now had a firm grip on the situation.

The billboard was also his doing, proclaiming, ”fake one, compensate ten.” For a diamond necklace worth 580,000, if he really had to compensate tenfold, that would amount to 5.8 million! Even selling himself wouldn’t fetch that much money!

Although the actual value of the diamond necklace wasn’t that high, the problem now lay with the company. If not handled properly, and Huo Sining decided to report the company to the Safety Bureau for defrauding consumers, the company could solve the issue but would still be inviting trouble.

The manager had reached his position for a reason; he was a shrewd person. He knew that a woman like Huo Sining, who could casually snip such an expensive piece of jewelry without batting an eyelid, was certainly not a simple character – she either came from wealth or nobility. Such people were not ones he could contend with.

But people like her typically wouldn’t bother with a small fry like him. Besides, although he was the one who brought the zircon necklace into the store, it wasn’t his fault for the blue diamond necklace incident. Anyone with eyes could see that it was the company’s designers who did it on purpose.

”Miss, how would you like to resolve this? I will refund your money, please don’t make it hard for me, okay? How about I treat both of you to lunch as an apology? Please let me off the hook; I’m just a poor employee. If you really make me compensate 5 million, even selling me wouldn’t raise that much money,” he pleaded.

The manager didn’t dare to deny responsibility, and he certainly couldn’t play hardball with someone like Huo Sining. He could only soft-pedal.

Huo Sining, of course, knew the manager’s thoughts, but she truly had no time for a squabble with such people. She was here today simply to teach him a lesson - to not grow too arrogant, thinking he could pull a fast one without consequence.

With a cold snort, Huo Sining looked at the manager with a stern face for a long while before speaking,

”I don’t lack this amount of money. I’m not here to cause trouble on purpose. It’s your behavior that’s infuriating. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother taking the trouble to deal with this.”

The manager quickly nodded his head in agreement, as eager as a chick pecking at grains of rice: ”You’re right, I understand, I understand.”

”Forget the meal. Just refund the money to my card. Also, when you see your President Liu Yuxuan, pass on my regards, and just say it’s Huo Sining from S City who sent the message.”

Having said her piece, Huo Sining walked away without looking back. The manager, momentarily stunned, then joyfully said, ”Of course, I’ll definitely convey your message to President Qin. Take care!”

The manager was secretly delighted, thinking that this woman named Huo Sining must be acquainted with their President Liu - no wonder such a serious matter hadn’t been investigated deeply. Probably, she let it go out of respect for President Liu.

Not long after, Liu Yuxuan arrived in Beijing and indeed met the manager.

Thinking he had handled the matter quite aptly, the manager eagerly approached Liu Yuxuan, boasted excessively about Huo Sining, nearly placing her on a pedestal.

Yet, after hearing the whole story, Liu Yuxuan’s face turned dark. The next day, the manager and the so-called Italian master Carol J. Diwei were ignominiously booted out of Jinyu Liangyuan’s doors with their belongings in tow.

Poor them, until the end, they never understood the actual reason why they were fired.

Only after they left the diamond store did Ouyang Jun couldn’t help but exclaim, ”You really are formidable, truly the legendary fierce woman of Bashu! It’s really too...”

Fierce.

Ouyang Jun didn’t finish his sentence; Huo Sining gave him a look that was both a smile and not, causing him to involuntarily touch his nose.
