Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 620: Chapter 617: Picking a Quarrel on Purpose

Such extreme displays immediately changed Huo Sining’s expression.

The flawless exterior was actually concealing a shattered core, no wonder the ancients often said, ”All that glitters is not gold.”

This diamond’s flaw was hidden extremely well, with the crack wrapped inside the metal setting.

If it weren’t for Huo Sining’s ability to see inside the diamond, it would be absolutely impossible for a normal person to detect it with the naked eye.

Huo Sining had never expected that such a modest diamond store would dare to counterfeit so blatantly at a jewelry exhibition!

Not to mention other ordinary customers who don’t understand the trade, even they, having been tricked twice, couldn’t possibly be without anger!

”How much did you say this necklace is?” Huo Sining suddenly asked.

The sales lady thought Huo Sining was ready to pay for the necklace and was overjoyed:

”The selling price of this necklace is 580,000! Are you paying in cash or by card?”

Huo Sining shook his head, ”Sorry, we won’t be taking this necklace.”

The sales lady was taken aback and hurriedly said, ”Miss, this necklace really has a nice design, top-quality diamonds from South Africa are hard to come by, and right now the discounted price we’re offering isn’t too expensive. This necklace has the lowest discount among similar styles!”

After hearing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but pause, smiling as she asked:

”Why is the discount price of this style the lowest? I see that this necklace seems even more exquisite than the others. But those other styles are priced at 680,000 and 860,000, and even that diamond brooch is sold for 600,000.”

”If according to what you said, the size, color, and clarity of the diamonds in this necklace are not low, and it’s a work by a famous designer, why then is its price the lowest?”

”Don’t tell us it’s a promotional sale from your manufacturer, such talk might deceive a three-year-old child, but forget about fooling us.”

The sales assistant probably had never encountered such an unconventional customer who posed such tricky questions—how could she answer?

Meanwhile, Ouyang Jun, standing nearby, was full of doubt as he listened to this conversation, his gaze resting thoughtfully on the necklace.

”You don’t know the answer? Well, then, let me tell you,” Huo Sining said with a faint smile on her face, pointing to the platinum blue diamond necklace and asked:

”Don’t all women love diamonds, the bigger, the better, wishing the ring on their finger was as big as a pigeon’s egg, right?”

The sales assistant didn’t know what Huo Sining was getting at with her question, but it was very straightforward and clear, and anyone could understand it, so she nodded stiffly in agreement.

”So let me ask you another question, since it’s common knowledge, wouldn’t Carol J. Diwei from Italy, who is a master designer in the diamond industry, also understand this simple fact?” Huo Sining continued to ask with a smile.

The surrounding sales ladies were all drawn in by this, not knowing what was happening, but they all adored their company’s chief designer immensely and naturally assumed that a designer like Carol, who understood such simple facts well-known even to them, would certainly understand too.

”If this designer understands this well, then why, after his setting, was this diamond ring designed to look like this? Clearly, it’s a three-carat diamond, but after his design, why does it appear so small? Don’t you think this goes against common sense?”

Huo Sining paused, then continued, ”If he had made the setting slightly smaller, then half more of the diamond would be showing, which would make the necklace look far more luxurious.”

”But why would he choose such a laborious and ungratifying method, increasing the use of platinum and making the diamond appear smaller?”

”If you were this designer, faced with such a premium blue diamond, wouldn’t you hesitate to obscure its charm and strive to showcase its perfection to the fullest?”

What she said was extremely logical, and the sales staff, looking at the necklace, couldn’t help but follow along with Huo Sining’s train of thought.

Indeed, as Huo Sining had pointed out, the necklace designed with such a pattern by this designer was completely illogical.

The platinum border of the bezel clearly didn’t need to be that large; by making it just a little smaller, the diamond would appear much larger and the price would be much higher.

”Moreover, South African blue diamonds are clearly very expensive, so why is this necklace priced lower than those two with white diamonds, and even lower than that diamond brooch?”

A cold light flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes, ”Clearly, these illogical points can only prove one thing, that there is an issue with this diamond. The master designer did this to intentionally conceal flaws on this blue diamond because it is a flawed stone with a shattered culet!”

”What nonsense are you spouting? If you can’t afford it, just don’t buy it; there’s no need to claim our diamonds are fake. It seems you’re deliberately causing trouble here, aren’t you?”

The nearby manager, who had been watching closely, changed color immediately when he heard Huo Sining call the diamond necklace defective, and he glared at Huo Sining and Ouyang Jun.

This time, it wasn’t the manager’s fault, as the expensive jewelry on this side were all new items sent over from the headquarters.

The manager certainly didn’t believe that goods from the headquarters could be fake, and felt that Huo Sining and her group were doing this deliberately. Otherwise, why did they only just realize his zircon necklace was inferior, and now claim that South African diamonds were defective?

The manager even darkly suspected that these two were possibly sent by other diamond companies to sabotage Jinyu Liangyuan.

The other sales staff also scoffed, looking disdainfully at Huo Sining.

Although they found Huo Sining’s earlier words quite sensible, they did not believe that the South African diamond necklace was a fake.

As for the setting issue, if the designer wanted to do it that way, who were you to object?

”Exactly, she claimed that the previous necklace had a problem, and now she’s saying this one does too; I think she’s doing it on purpose. If you can’t afford it, just say it, why come here and put on airs?”

One of the girls echoed the manager’s words in a low voice.

Although spoken softly, Huo Sining still heard it.

She abruptly stopped, turned around to look at the girl, and spoke indifferently, ”Please wrap up that necklace, I’ll buy it!”

Huo Sining’s words were obviously out of spite, and Ouyang Jun, upon hearing them, couldn’t help but frown slightly.

Although not an expert, Ouyang Jun found Huo Sining’s analysis very reasonable.

The bezel and hidden setting of the diamond necklace followed traditional techniques, yet oddly, the style of the necklace was extremely trendy.
