Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 607: Chapter 605: You Reap What You Sow

”Miss Huo, I’m really sorry about this... Our team members didn’t understand the situation and came over as soon as we received the report, without verification. I just checked, and your shop’s paperwork is all in order with no issues. It must have been a mistake by the person who made the report.”

When arresting people, he could lie with his eyes open, but now that he knew Huo Sining was not someone to be trifled with, Wang Ping could switch his demeanor faster than flipping through a book, immediately showing a different face.

Huo Sining couldn’t be bothered to argue with such people, and she indifferently looked at Wang Ping said, ”Officer, my shop is opening in a few days, and your arrival with so many officers can easily be misinterpreted by others.”

Although there wasn’t much emotion in Huo Sining’s voice, Wang Ping felt a tremor in his heart.

He was just a small team captain at the police station, who had to act with his tail between his legs in front of his chief. Now that he knew the identity of the person before him, he cursed Zhao Mingcheng’s ancestors all the way back to the eighteenth generation in his heart.

The bastard must be deliberately trying to harm him, right?

”Miss Huo, I am truly sorry, it’s our mistake. I apologize to you. There’s nothing wrong with your shop, and we will certainly hold the person who made the malicious report accountable!”

Despite the embarrassment, Wang Ping still stepped to the door and spoke out loud, making sure that the onlookers outside heard his voice.

The bystanders had thought there was some problem with the shop, but now, hearing what Wang Ping said, they realized it was a mistake by the police.

Seeing the onlookers disperse, Huo Sining was rather satisfied with Wang Ping’s quick response. She nodded slightly and gestured to Wang Ping:

”Since there has been a mistake, let’s let bygones be bygones. I know who the person behind the malicious report is. Since you were deceived by him, I won’t hold you responsible. But since your team is in charge of this area, I hope you can keep an eye on things when our shop opens on Saturday. I don’t want to see any issues on the day of our opening!”

Hearing Huo Sining’s words, Wang Ping nodded again and again, ”Yes, yes, there will definitely be no problems!”

Huo Sining waved her hand, and on the other side, the understanding officers had already unlocked Li Quan’s handcuffs. A few policemen helped up the three officers Wu Jun had knocked to the ground, and the group left the shop dejectedly, not daring to look back as they quickly departed.

Not far from the door, Liu Shanshan had been waiting to watch the drama unfold. When she saw a dozen police officers rush into the Jade Beauty shop, she was secretly thrilled, expecting to mock Huo Sining after the police shut down the shop. She even planned to fabricate some evidence to kick Huo Sining when she was down after the arrest.

However, to Liu Shanshan’s surprise, the group of police officers left without doing much soon after they had entered, and aside from the three injured officers, they made no further moves, and no one from inside the shop was taken away.

What baffled Liu Shanshan even more was that the police officer in charge had actually made a public apology to Huo Sining in front of so many people, admitting their wrongful law enforcement.

Such face-slapping actions are never done by government departments, but the police officer did so, and he seemed wholly willing without any coercion.

Although Liu Shanshan wasn’t particularly capable, she wasn’t stupid either. She immediately realized that this owner of the Jade Beauty, Huo Sining, had a more solid background than Zhao Mingcheng, which was why the police officer apologized and then left in such a hurry.

Liu Shanshan was filled with resentment, but she also knew that someone like Huo Sining was not someone a commoner like her could afford to provoke. She glanced again at the luxurious decor of the Jade Beauty, ruefully aware that she had blown her chance at a high-paying job, and with no other options, she could only clench her teeth and leave.

Compared to Liu Shanshan, Zhao Mingcheng was far less fortunate. Just after he’d asked a friend in the industry and commerce department to make trouble for Guan Yu Beauty Shop, hoping to pressure Lin Wenwan into throwing herself at him,

his plan hadn’t yet taken shape when Wang Ping came storming over, cursing him out loud:

”Zhao, I actually thought of you as a brother, but damn it, you’re screwing me over! You think I’m sitting too comfortably in my position, huh? Want to see me jobless, my family in ruins, is that it?!”

Upon hearing this, Zhao Mingcheng was utterly baffled, ”What do you mean? Didn’t you go to Wangfujing to catch those women who attacked my mom? Why are you back so soon? Did you catch them?”

At the mention of this, Wang Ping’s rage surged:

”Catch them, catch your sister, *fuck* your granddad, Zhao Mingcheng, you bastard, do you even realize who you’ve messed with? You’ve messed with the Lu Family, if you’ve stirred up shit with someone you can’t afford to mess with, you better solve it yourself, got it? If you really think of me as a brother, then don’t drag me down with you! I have parents and children to take care of, I don’t have the guts to play this game with you!”

”Brother Ping, what are you talking about? I can’t understand a damn word you’re saying. What ’Lu Family’? When did I mess with anyone from the Lu Family and drag you into it?”

Zhao Mingcheng was utterly clueless, like a monk scratching his head in confusion.

Wang Ping looked at Zhao Mingcheng coldly, ”I just tried to catch someone for you and that woman made a direct call to the chief of the police station, Guo Dongliang. Do you know who owns the Guan Yu Beauty Shop? The woman is named Huo Sining, she’s Chief Lu’s granddaughter! You wanted to trouble her, are you fucking brain-damaged?”

”I only asked you to catch two women, how did it get connected with the owner of the Guan Yu Beauty Shop?!”

Zhao Mingcheng was suddenly stunned, and as something dawned on him, he dryly blurted out, ”That Huo Sining you’re talking about, does she... wear a blue chiffon long dress, looking about eighteen or nineteen years old?”

Wang Ping nodded; ”That’s right!”

Zhao Mingcheng’s eyes suddenly widened in shock. After confirming that Wang Ping wasn’t joking, his eyes revealed sheer terror. He swallowed hard, still not giving up, he continued to verify:

”The Chief Lu you mentioned, isn’t possibly referring to...that person, right?”

Zhao Mingcheng stretched out his hand and pointed above his head.

This time, Wang Ping said nothing, only looking at him as if he were an idiot.

Zhao Mingcheng’s heart instantly plunged into a cold abyss, and he stood there, dumbfounded.

No wonder the woman had warned him not to trap himself. It turned out she was serious; he had truly signed his own death warrant by provoking the Lu Family, and he even had the audacity to say he’d kill Chief Lu’s granddaughter!
