Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 637: Chapter 634: The Three Months’ Time

Boss Zhao’s face showed a bitter expression as he heard the words and said, ”It seems you are indeed a newcomer. The top of this Old Golden Osmanthus is showing symptoms of yellowing and falling leaves, and the whole plant looks lifeless.”

”This is summer, when the Golden Osmanthus should be at its most lush. There’s no reason for it to be like this. I brought the plant here in hopes that Professor Yan could take a look, but, unfortunately, even he said that the root of this Golden Osmanthus has rotted through and it can’t be saved.”

Could this Old Golden Osmanthus actually be a dying, terminal plant?!

Huo Sining was shocked and subconsciously turned back, staring intently at the Old Golden Osmanthus.

Upon this closer inspection, she noticed, just as Zhao Guotian had said, the top of the Old Golden Osmanthus exhibited yellowing leaves, and the whole plant seemed utterly lifeless, not at all like the bushes growing with vitality in the flower bed beside it.

This outcome was very unexpected for Huo Sining.

To grow such a natural Old Golden Osmanthus, the time and effort required were certainly not something that could be achieved in a mere three to five years.

Even as an outsider, she felt a sense of regret. One could imagine how heartbreaking the death of this Old Golden Osmanthus was for the gardener.

If it were just a simple pest infestation or disease, any ordinary flower attendant could bring it back to life, but root rot was not so simple.

Insects or disease might only harm the surface, but root rot damaged the very foundation, disrupting the plant’s nutrient transportation hub; water and nutrients couldn’t be supplied normally, and this plant truly only had one path — death.

The price of a sick plant compared to a healthy one was naturally not the same.

Especially for this Old Golden Osmanthus, root rot meant a terminal condition, and continuing to tend it would only lead to one outcome.

Once this plant died under their care, the Old Golden Osmanthus would become worthless.

Judging by Zhao Guotian’s words, he seemed to have given up as well; otherwise, he wouldn’t have casually left the plant here in the corridor, seemingly having written it off as dead.

With this thought, Huo Sining’s mind stirred.

Others might not be able to save this Old Golden Osmanthus, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t give it a try.

She had an incredible tool in her possession, after all. The orchid she had previously gotten back from Hu Yongyuan, which had been broken, had been brought back to life by her hands, not to mention that this Old Golden Osmanthus before her still hadn’t completely died and still clung to a thread of life.

Thinking this, Huo Sining’s thoughts raced. In the eyes of Zhao Guotian, this Old Golden Osmanthus was already beyond saving. In such a situation, if she wanted to buy the Old Golden Osmanthus, the price should not be too high. If she could get this Old Golden Osmanthus at its lowest price...

Huo Sining knew the miraculous ability of the Spirit of Azure Pearl. Reviving this Golden Osmanthus would not be difficult, and once this Old Golden Osmanthus came back to life, its value would definitely earn her a substantial profit.

No sooner had she thought it than she spoke directly, asking, ”Boss Zhao, to be honest with you, I have a strong interest in this pot of Old Golden Osmanthus. Would you be willing to part with it and sell it to me?”

As soon as Huo Sining spoke, not only was Zhao Guotian stunned, but Yan Xuesong and Hu Yongyuan also showed surprised expressions, with Yan Xuesong’s gaze wandering restlessly over Huo Sining’s face.

”You want to acquire this pot of Old Golden Osmanthus?”

Zhao Guotian only had one feeling in his heart: was this girl’s brain broken? She wanted to buy a plant whose roots had decayed and died. Had she not understood what he had just said?

Huo Sining nodded solemnly, ”Boss Zhao, I dare not boast; I certainly won’t be able to save this flower, but that doesn’t mean it can only wait to die.”

”Although I only know a little about flowers, I have a friend who is a Master of Flower Attendance. I’m buying this flower also to seek his help. I believe that with his skill, he should be able to revive this Golden Osmanthus from death.”

The universe’s greatest expert ”my friend” was once again fabricated by Huo Sining, yet even if she was lying, she was calm. After all, she was only inventing the existence of a person, which didn’t mean she couldn’t nurture the osmanthus back to health. In this sense, could she really be considered a liar?

Moreover, if she were to tell the truth that she herself would take it home to nurture, not only Zhao Guotian but even she herself wouldn’t believe it.

You, a rookie just starting out, shamelessly think you can revive a dead plant. Such a boastful claim is something not even Yan Xuesong would dare utter lightly. It would be comical if others didn’t laugh at it.

Indeed, as soon as Zhao Guotian heard Huo Sining’s words, the doubt in his eyes diminished by seven parts.

However, he was still somewhat suspect and astonished. If even Yan Xuesong had concluded that this plant could not be saved, on what grounds did this girl have such confidence that her friend could revive it?

To know that Yan Xuesong was one of the foremost floral cultivation experts in the whole of Jiangcheng, even he was helpless, then what could her friend possibly do?

Seeming to notice Zhao Guotian’s doubts, Huo Sining gave a slight smile, her gaze shifting to the Old Golden Osmanthus:

”It seems Boss Zhao is also a person who cherishes flowers, surely holding deep affection for the Old Golden Osmanthus. How about this, I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll give it three months; if my friend can’t revive this Old Golden Osmanthus, then I, Huo Sining, will compensate at ten times its original price. How does that sound?”

As soon as these words were out, not only Zhao Guotian, but even Yan Xuesong was taken aback: ”Young lady, you shouldn’t be so overconfident. Do you know how much the original price of this flower is?”

Huo Sining nodded gently: ”Since it’s a native Old Golden Osmanthus, it’s surely more valuable than ones grafted onto rootstocks. By my estimate, the original price of this Golden Osmanthus should be between two and three hundred thousand yuan.”

Seeing Huo Sining so certain, Yan Xuesong became interested.

He had always been arrogant. This Old Golden Osmanthus had rotten roots, and even he had no idea where to start. Now someone was claiming they could revive it, instantly igniting his fighting spirit.

Putting aside his own dignity, Yan Xuesong spoke on behalf of Zhao Guotian: ”Great! Since you trust your friend so much, young lady, I’ll accept on behalf of Boss Zhao.”

”However, your bet seems to be at a disadvantage for you. We can’t take advantage of being older and bully a child like you. How about this, in three months, as long as your friend can revive this Golden Osmanthus, the plant is yours! I want to see if your friend really has what it takes!”

Yan Xuesong’s words surprised Huo Sining, but of course, she wanted the osmanthus, so she agreed readily.

”Si Ning, are you confident? If you can’t revive it, you’ll have to pay two million in compensation. This isn’t a joke!”

Luo Jinzhi tugged at Huo Sining, her eyes revealing doubt and concern. In her knowledge, Huo Sining was skilled at fishkeeping, but she had never heard of her involvement with flower nurturing. Luo Jinzhi was worried Huo Sining might suffer a loss from a rash agreement and couldn’t help but remind her.

”Don’t worry, I wouldn’t be so sure if I wasn’t confident,” Huo Sining said with a smile, patting the back of Luo Jinzhi’s hand reassuringly.
