Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 606: Chapter 604: Underhand Tactics

Seeing this situation, Huo Sining couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh in her heart. Without any hesitation, she flipped to someone’s number and dialed it immediately.

The phone had only rung twice when someone on the other end picked up immediately, their voice carrying a mix of obsequiousness and trepidation, as they fawned, ”Miss Huo, what brings you to call me?”

”What are you trying to do?!” Wu Jun couldn’t contain his anger upon seeing Li Quan handcuffed by the police, and he stepped forward to demand an explanation.

A plump-faced officer turned around upon hearing this and looked Wu Jun up and down with a sneer.

”What are we doing? We’ve received a report that your establishment’s fire safety is not up to code, your signage isn’t compliant with regulations, and your business registration is incomplete. We are here to investigate, so everyone from your store needs to come with us to the police station!”

A heap of accusations was hurled down, and the officer spoke with such self-righteousness, as if it were all true.

It was just unfortunate for them that Gu Xu Company’s professionals handled everything concerning the store, so such issues were impossible.

The officer’s distortion of truth and disregard for fairness fueled Wu Jun’s frustration. As anger flared within him, he glared at the officer and said coldly, ”Even if our store did have issues, it should be handled by commercial regulation enforcement, not the police. What does it have to do with you?!”

The officer made up a few excuses on the spot, not expecting to be called out by Wu Jun. Hearing Wu Jun’s words, he couldn’t save face and shot Wu Jun a sideways glance before swinging his arm toward the other officers and barked, ”What are you waiting for? Handcuff them all and take them away!”

Heeding the command, one of the officers immediately reached for the handcuffs and walked towards Wu Jun.

Seeing their way of handling things, Wu Jun had no intention of being polite with these people. With a cold laugh, he didn’t say another word before delivering a swift roundhouse kick.

Compared to Su Qingqing’s taekwondo, Wu Jun was much more skilled. This guy used to shine in the special forces; his performance was outstanding in every aspect. As a ’Soldier King’, his combat abilities naturally couldn’t be matched by a few faint-hearted officers.

To try to handcuff him was like searching for death with a lantern in a cesspit.

The officer found himself crying out in pain, clutching his arm, as Wu Jun’s kick landed.

The crowd couldn’t help but turn their gaze to the injured officer to see him holding his broken arm. Those with sharp eyes could see the bone protruding from his limb, and they were instantly dumbfounded.

Two other officers charged forward to help, but Wu Jun delivered two more sidekicks in rapid succession. A crisp snap was heard, sending shivers down the spines of everyone present.

Wu Jun narrowed his eyes and glared at the officers. The chilling glint in his squinted eyes was hawk-like, and his stance, as alert as a freshly caged tiger, suggested that he was ready to unleash his claws at the slightest provocation.

The squad of rookie cops felt the shift in Wu Jun’s gaze in an instant.

Just one kick had broken the arm of their teammate, even exposing the bone!

This was far too harsh!

Yet, after laying out three men with a few moves, the man remained as if nothing had happened—no flush in his face, no shortness of breath, completely unaffected.

Immediately, the few young officers concluded internally that this man’s punches were precise and ruthless. It was clear he was a seasoned fighter, certainly not someone they could handle!

The police officer whose arm had been kicked off lie on the ground, his left hand severed, his complexion deathly pale as he wailed ceaselessly.

The fat-faced policeman who had given the orders earlier saw this and revealed a sinister look in his eyes. He didn’t hesitate to draw his service pistol from his waist and point it directly at Wu Jun.

Facing the gun, even Wu Jun, who was capable of fighting, shrank back.

He was not afraid of the gun hitting him. Having served in the special forces for so many years, if he were scared by a gun, that would be too pathetic. His concern was that if the policeman’s aim was off and the gun went off accidentally, injuring innocent people, that would be bad.

Seeing the change in Wu Jun’s expression, the policeman thought Wu Jun was scared and immediately smirked in triumph, ”Damn it, act tough now! You dare assault a police officer, let’s see if your fists and feet are faster, or my bullets!”

After he spoke, he shouted at the policemen behind him, ”Take this asshole back with us! Once we get back, we’re gonna have some real fun with this kid!”

Huo Sining had just finished explaining the situation over the phone, and when she turned around, she saw two policemen stepping forward to handcuff Wu Jun. Her eyes narrowed immediately, and she shouted angrily, ”Hold on!”

The policemen were stunned, instinctively turning to look in Huo Sining’s direction.

Huo Sining sneered and looked at the policeman who had drawn his gun, ”Are you their leader?”

That policeman lifted his head arrogantly and looked at Huo Sining, ”What if I am?”

Huo Sining nodded and handed her cellphone to the policeman, ”Someone wants you to take a call!”

The policeman, seeing the smirk on Huo Sining’s face, became suspicious, hesitated for a moment but still took the call, ”Hello?”

An irate voice came from the other end, ”Which division are you from? If you don’t want to keep your job, then scram! Do you think Beijing City is your family’s convenience store, where you can run amok?”

If it were any other time and someone dared to berate him like this, Wang Ping would have exploded, but the voice was so familiar that he paused, thought for a moment, and then asked with some uncertainty, ”Guo... Director Guo?”

On the other end of the phone, Guo Dongliang was furious, and upon being addressed, he couldn’t help but curse loudly, ”Yes, it’s me, you idiots! How can you let just anyone use you? Is Huo Sining someone you can afford to provoke? She’s Chief Lu’s granddaughter! You’re seeking her trouble as if you’re not dying fast enough? If you want to die, go do it yourself. Jumping off a building, jumping into a river, or lying on the tracks, I don’t care, just don’t drag me into it!”

As soon as Wang Ping heard Guo Dongliang say this, his face changed instantly.

What did he just hear, this woman is... Chief Lu’s granddaughter?

Instinctively turning his head to look at Huo Sining, a look of horror appeared in Wang Ping’s eyes.

”Enough, I won’t waste words with you. You deal with the trouble you’ve caused. I’ll just tell you this much, this woman is not just simply Chief Lu’s granddaughter, forget about you, even I can’t afford to provoke her. If you’re not afraid of death, keep making a fuss. Just don’t involve me!”

After saying this, as if he was terrified of being implicated, Guo Dongliang hung up without another word.

Wang Ping seemed as if he had been hexed, his face turning from green to white, motionless for a good while until finally, the policemen behind him could no longer bear it and called out to him, ”Captain... do we, do we still arrest him?”

”Arrest, arrest your sister!”

Wang Ping gave the speaking policeman a slap on the head, turned back with an instantaneous change of face, and looked at Huo Sining with a smile full of obsequious flattery.
