Urban Martial Saint

The words of the Purple Robe Lama were true, although his qinggong was extremely strong, it didn’t hold much significance in front of Helian Tiehua.

Helian Tiehua’s Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield, practiced to this level, could withstand even the famed instrument, and the attacks of the Purple Robe Lama had little effect. Although the Purple Robe Lama could avoid Helian Tiehua’s A Stone’s Throw Away, it was with considerable effort. If the fight continued, Helian Tiehua’s Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield was enough to ensure that Helian Tiehua remained invincible. However, if the Purple Robe Lama were hit by Helian Tiehua, the result would be different. He did not have the Golden Bell Shield to protect his body like Helian Tiehua, and he would surely face a crushing defeat.

Therefore, the Purple Robe Lama clearly understood in his mind that if he fought Helian Tiehua for a long time, he would definitely be at a disadvantage. Of course, with the speed of the Purple Robe Lama, it was not an easy task for Helian Tiehua to defeat him. This battle could only be considered a stalemate for both sides. At the very least, if the Purple Robe Lama wanted to escape, Helian Tiehua definitely wouldn’t be able to stop him.

Beside them, Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun had faces blue with rage; they both had long claimed to have strength comparable to the Five Uniques. However, in a real battle against the Five Uniques, their strength seemed far inferior. In reality, they originally had the strength to contend with the Five Uniques. However, Helian Tiehua and the Purple Robe Lama had learned the ultimate technique left behind by Patriarch Bodhidharma, which pulled them far ahead.

”The Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield, though powerful, is not truly unbreakable!” Red Snake Yin Fairy said coldly, ”If the Purple-robed Elder himself cannot break it, does he assume no one else in the world can break it? Isn’t that a little too ignorant?”

”Hahaha...” The Purple Robe Lama laughed, ”Hearing Yin Xianzi’s words, could it be that she knows someone who can break General Helian’s Thirteen Protectors’ Horizontal Golden Bell Shield?”

Yin Xianzi sneered silently, while One-Eyed Ding Lianshun frowned, ”Purple-robed Elder, we didn’t come today to listen to your mutual flattery. If there’s nothing else, we’ll take Ye Qing with us first.”

The Purple Robe Lama looked at Ye Qing, then at Ding Lianshun, and shook his head, ”You can leave, but Ye Qing cannot leave for the time being!”

Ding Lianshun’s face turned cold, and he said in a deep voice, ”Venerable, are you thinking of keeping him? Hmph, Venerable, don’t forget your status, bullying the weak and oppressing the small is not in accordance with your title!”

”I have no intention to bully the weak, just have some matters to discuss with him.” The Purple-robed Elder said, ”If Protector Ding wants to leave, you may go first. Once I’m done discussing with Ye Qing, he can also leave.”

”No, this time I must take him with me!” Ding Lianshun said solemnly.

The Purple-robed Elder glanced at him and said, ”Protector Ding, are you intending to use force?”

Ding Lianshun was about to speak when Yin Xianzi suddenly said, ”There’s no need for that. Cyclops, you don’t need to worry too much, the Purple-robed Elder’s status is such that he certainly wouldn’t trouble a junior. Since the Purple-robed Elder wants to chat with Ye Qing for a bit, let’s not disturb them for now. Purple-robed Elder, we’ll take our leave first.”

As Yin Xianzi spoke, she dragged Ding Lianshun away.

”How can we...” Ding Lianshun wanted to speak, but Yin Xianzi quickly gestured for him to be silent, and Ding Lianshun swallowed the rest of his words. He knew there must be a reason Yin Xianzi was taking him away like this.

Ding Lianshun followed Yin Xianzi out of the Wuming Temple, to a deserted place, before Yin Xianzi looked back at the temple they had just left, frowned delicately, and said in a deep voice, ”Cyclops, haven’t you realized? This purple-robed monk is deliberately leading us here to scare us.”

”Scare us?” Ding Lianshun asked in surprise, ”What is he scaring us about?”

Yin Xianzi said deeply, ”Don’t you understand the kind of person the Purple Robe Lama is yet? Given his character, how could he bully the weak? I suspected something was strange about him coming for Ye Qing this time. It seems he is using this event to give us a warning.”

”He’s giving us a warning?” Ding Lianshun scratched his head, ”Why would he warn us?”

”What do you think?” Yin Xianzi glared at him, ”Don’t forget, it was you who killed that Brahmin elder!”

Ding Lianshun parted his lips, ”But... they don’t know I was the one who killed him...”

”People don’t know, can they not suspect?” Yin Xianzi said, ”The Purple Robe Lama isn’t a fool; he will definitely be suspicious of us. However, until he confirms it, he won’t come to take revenge on us. But one thing is certain, he has already become wary of us and started being vigilant. This time, upon entering Shenchuan City, the first thing he did was to find Ye Qing, which was totally to lure us out.”

Ding Lianshun took a deep breath and said solemnly, ”Listening to you, I really do feel something now. If the Purple Robe Lama hadn’t found Ye Qing, it wouldn’t be easy for him to find us either!”

”Exactly!” Yin Xianzi nodded and continued, ”Moreover, you also know the Purple Robe Lama’s character; he’s usually not ostentatious. But why did he immediately make a move upon meeting this time? Plus, he even announced openly that move ’Crossing the River with a Reed,’ and even had a bout with Helian Tiehua, which is completely out of character for the Purple Robe Lama. This person is introverted and generally would never do something like this.”

Ding Lianshun slowly nodded; he also knew the Purple Robe Lama and recognized that these matters are indeed strange.

”Yet, he came today and made a move first, and so high-handedly, which is entirely inconsistent with his usual character. From this, we can see he’s doing it all for us to see.” Yin Xianzi said sternly, ”As soon as he arrived in Shenchuan City, he gave us a show of power to let us know that Brahmanism is not to be trifled with. Hmph, the Purple Robe Lama is trying to scare us, making sure we dare not strike against Brahmanism’s people again!”

Ding Lianshun furrowed his brows and said solemnly, ”Hmph, does he really need to frighten us? I haven’t planned to strike against Brahmanism’s people anyway.”

”That’s what you say now, but it’s hard to tell in the future.” Yin Xianzi said, ”Don’t forget, the Purple Robe Lama came to Huaxia looking for the Reincarnated True Buddha this time. Now, you might not act against Brahmanism’s people, but once the Reincarnated True Buddha is found, who knows what will happen? Don’t forget, the Reincarnated True Buddha has always been at odds with the Heavenly Master!”

Ding Lianshun slowly nodded, acknowledging that Yin Xianzi’s words are indeed crucial. Heavenly Master Lin Xuan Yue has been focused on the matter of the Reincarnated True Buddha, likely planning to seize the chance to eradicate Brahmanism’s True Buddha legacy. No wonder the Purple Robe Lama first demonstrated his strength upon arrival—to warn them against having any designs on the Reincarnated True Buddha.

”The Purple Robe Lama’s strength has grown too much!” Ding Lianshun remarked irritably, ”How do he and Helian Tiehua have such good fortune to learn the Ultimate Technique left by Patriarch Bodhidharma? Just one move is enough to elevate their strength so much. I think, in the future, only by both of us joining forces can we defeat either of them. If we fight one-on-one, we would likely be in trouble!”

Yin Xianzi also looked helpless; before they could hold their own against the Purple Robe Lama, but now the gap has widened, leaving her quite frustrated.

”Anyway, for now, our goal is to protect Ye Qing; we don’t need to worry about other matters. As for dealing with Helian Tiehua and the Purple Robe Lama, the Heavenly Master will personally handle it; we don’t need to concern ourselves.” Yin Xianzi said.

”You mention Ye Qing again.” Ding Lianshun said with eyes wide, ”I was about to say, Ye Qing is still there. If Brahmanism’s people kill him, wouldn’t our trip be for nothing this time? If they provoke Bai Li Xi, and he completely seals off Medicine King Mountain, would all of our twenty years of arrangements be in vain?”

”You’re missing the point!” Yin Xianzi said, ”Helian Tiehua is still around; how could Brahmanism’s people kill Ye Qing? Besides, given the Purple Robe Lama’s character, he wouldn’t kill Ye Qing anyway. I said earlier, his move against Ye Qing just now was to lure us out; he wasn’t intending to deal with Ye Qing.”

”Really?” Ding Lianshun exhaled deeply and said, ”That’s good, anyway, by the fifteenth next month, before Medicine King Mountain opens, we must keep Ye Qing safe, no matter what.”

Yin Xianzi sighed and said in frustration, ”I loathe the task of protecting people most; Ye Qing’s enemies aren’t few, and protecting him isn’t going to be easy.”

Ding Lianshun shrugged and said, ”Who doesn’t feel the same? But there’s nothing to be done. If his enemies were fewer, the Heavenly Master wouldn’t have dispatched you to Huaxia so early to assist.”

Yin Xianzi still looked rather angry, but despite her anger, they dare not neglect the task of protecting Ye Qing. After all, it involves their twenty-year plan, and there can be absolutely no slip-ups.

Ye Qing was left there by the Purple Robe Lama, but he wasn’t overly worried. Since Helian Tiehua was present, he felt much more at ease, confident that Helian Tiehua wouldn’t watch and allow him to be killed.

Brahmanism’s people were eager to deal with Ye Qing before. After this interruption, they have calmed down, and none are shouting anymore. Everyone is watching the Purple Robe Lama, waiting to see how he’ll handle Ye Qing.

The crowd returned to the grand hall, sitting on both sides. The Purple Robe Lama looked at Ye Qing and said, ”Mr. Ye, those two have left, and now we should discuss serious matters. With General Helian here, I’ll ask him to bear witness.”

Ye Qing was slightly perplexed; weren’t they discussing serious matters before? Earlier, he nearly lost his life, and serious talks hadn’t even started yet?
