Urban Martial Saint

At 3:30 in the afternoon, Ye Qing went to the airport with Su Kaicheng, and they flew directly to the Capital on a special plane.

Su Kaicheng did not speak much to Ye Qing on the way, which indicated that this was a highly confidential matter. Upon reaching the airport, Ye Qing was surprised to find that Lin Tianyou was also traveling with them.

Before getting off the car, Ye Qing asked in confusion, ”Brother Lin, why are you here too?”

Su Kaicheng waved his hand without explaining to Ye Qing, directly bringing Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou onto the plane.

”Ye Zi, you’re coming along too?” Lin Tianyou looked visibly surprised upon seeing Ye Qing and asked, ”Do you know what we’re really going there for?”

Ye Qing shrugged and said, ”I really don’t know. Do you?”

”I don’t know either,” Lin Tianyou replied. ”Just now, our dean came to me and asked me to go to the Capital for a business trip. I have no idea what’s going on. However, this business trip does seem a bit unusual, taking a special plane for the first time. Could it be that some important person is ill?”

This statement made Ye Qing’s heart skip a beat, and he, too, suddenly found it a bit strange. Previously, he had revived Su Kaixin, Su Kaicheng’s sister, in the Capital, leading the Su family to believe in his remarkable medical skills. And Lin Tianyou’s medical expertise was something Su Kaicheng had personally witnessed that morning, and now he was also being sent to the Capital in the afternoon. Adding it all up, Ye Qing suddenly had a suspicion that perhaps Su Kaicheng was taking him and Lin Tianyou to the Capital for their medical expertise?

Su Kaicheng didn’t offer an explanation for their doubts but took both of them onto the plane directly. It turned out to be a dedicated special plane, equipped with all sorts of complete facilities and even a separate room. Su Kaicheng led Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou into the room.

After closing the door, Su Kaicheng invited them to sit down and said directly, ”Ye brothers, Divine Doctor Lin, this time I’ve urgently called you to the Capital because there’s a very important issue and we need your help.”

”What’s the matter that’s so urgent?” Ye Qingqi asked. ”Is it because Kaixin’s illness has returned?”

”No!” Su Kaicheng shook his head and said, ”Kaixin’s illness is not a problem. This time, the matter is somewhat troublesome. I’m going to tell you two about it, but I hope you can keep it absolutely confidential. This matter is of great importance, and no secrets must be leaked!”

Seeing Su Kaicheng so solemn, Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou exchanged a glance, even more surprised. What on earth had happened to require such high confidentiality?

”Elder Brother Su, go ahead. The two of us will definitely keep the secret!” Ye Qing replied.

”Good!” Su Kaicheng nodded, paused for a while, and said, ”This matter dates back half a month. Half a month ago, at the Northwestern Border Line, our border guards discovered a group of smugglers. By convention, the border guards are to control these people first. However, when our guards approached, they found that these were not ordinary smugglers but a group of well-trained special forces!”

Ye Qing immediately frowned. Of course, he knew what that meant. A group of special forces crossing the national border line was a provocation to national sovereignty, potentially leading to war if the situation escalated.

Lin Tianyou did not know much about these matters, but he understood that this must be a significant matter.

”Our border guards clashed with these people. These special forces were not only well-trained but also well-equipped, almost annihilating our border guards,” Su Kaicheng paused and said solemnly. ”However, this news was already conveyed to the border troops. The troops immediately dispatched an action team to chase these special forces, eventually catching up and engaging in fierce combat, ultimately annihilating this group of special forces.”

Ye Qing nodded slowly. He had done such tasks at the border lines before. While Su Kaicheng made it sound simple, Ye Qing could already guess that such a fierce battle must have been very intense. Moreover, to annihilate a well-trained and well-equipped special forces team often comes at a great cost.

”Originally, this was quite ordinary; conflicts like these are not uncommon on the border line. However, this time’s situation was somewhat exceptional!” Su Kaicheng glanced at Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou, speaking in a low voice. ”During the combat, our soldiers discovered that the special forces were actually guarding a coded case tightly. So, our soldiers suspected that there must be some critical documents inside, and they brought it back to the troops for investigation. And the key problem arose here!”

Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou sat up straight; they knew the most crucial part was coming.

Su Kaicheng spoke in a low voice, ”After our soldiers brought the coded case back to the border troops, the troops immediately sent experts to unlock it. However, upon opening it, aside from a green gas emanating from it, there was only a broken glass bottle inside, nothing else!”

”Green gas?” Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou exclaimed simultaneously. Could the coded case guarded by a team of well-trained and well-equipped special forces only contain green gas? How could that be?

”That’s right, just green gas!” Su Kaicheng spoke seriously.

Ye Qing was puzzled, naturally unable to comprehend what the green gas meant. On the other hand, Lin Tianyou fell into silence, seemingly pondering something.

Seeing Lin Tianyou like this, Su Kaicheng did not continue immediately but asked, ”Divine Doctor Lin, do you think there’s something wrong with this matter?”

After a moment of silence, Lin Tianyou said, ”Did the green gas disperse at that time?”

”It dispersed,” Su Kaicheng answered.

”What happened afterward?” Lin Tianyou asked.

Su Kaicheng sighed and said, ”Divine Doctor Lin, do you think there’s a problem with the green gas?”

”For those who study medicine, colored gases are often toxic,” Lin Tianyou replied. ”Given that a team of special forces guarded it tightly and stored it so well, this green gas might have some special effect.”

A gleam flashed in Su Kaicheng’s eyes, and he nodded slowly, saying, ”Divine Doctor Lin, you guessed right. This green gas, according to our subsequent collection and analysis, is a type of biochemical weapon!”

”Biochemical weapon?” Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou exclaimed in shock; this was something prohibited worldwide.

”After the green gas was released, all the people in the room, over a dozen, came into contact with it. Initially, they didn’t pay much attention, but after about three days, their skin began to show varying degrees of ulceration, and they gradually exhibited aggressive behaviors,” Su Kaicheng paused and stated each word emphatically: ”attacking people around them, even those they knew!”

”Such a thing?” Ye Qing immediately frowned, feeling a sense of déjà vu.

”Have you seen ’Biohazard’?” Su Kaicheng asked. ”It’s like the feeling from there, with people turning into living dead and attacking other living people. Of course, our situation isn’t as grave; those infected only show aggression without becoming that terrifying. Moreover, their aggression is merely ordinary, without any cases of cannibalism as seen in movies. But the key issue is, when they attack, they can’t recognize anyone at all. One professional, at home during a fit, almost strangled his three-year-old daughter, which was very dangerous.”

”This is completely inhumane!” Ye Qing said solemnly.

Su Kaicheng nodded, glanced at Lin Tianyou beside Ye Qing, who was still deep in thought, unsure of what he was pondering.

Su Kaicheng spoke seriously, ”After such incidents, our troops immediately quarantined those infected and called in experts from the troops to diagnose their conditions. However, the experts were helpless about their conditions, and it has been over ten days with no control over their conditions. Eventually, the capital approved a call for renowned doctors nationwide to diagnose their illnesses, both to treat these people and to thoroughly research the green gas to prevent our people from suffering attacks by such biochemical weapons. Ye brothers, Divine Doctor Lin, given that your medical skills are highly advanced, I’ve specially invited you to help this time.”

Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou finally understood why Su Kaicheng was so urgent in taking them; this was indeed a serious issue. No wonder Su Kaicheng had been in such a hurry to go to the orphanage, and he hadn’t spoken a word on the way; he couldn’t afford to disclose too much about this matter.

”So, we’re not going to the Capital, but to the Northwestern Border Line?” Ye Qing asked.

”That’s correct!” Su Kaicheng nodded, adding, ”I’m sorry, I didn’t tell you the truth earlier in the interest of confidentiality.”

”That’s not a problem; when it comes to national security, it’s our duty!” Ye Qing said. ”Have you found out about the origin of these special forces?”

”These special forces deliberately concealed their identity, making it impossible to trace their origin. However, we found out their destination!” Su Kaicheng looked deep into Ye Qing’s eyes and said solemnly, ”Their destination was Fusang Country!”

”Fusang Country!?” Ye Qing immediately furrowed his brows, instantly understanding the implication behind Su Kaicheng’s gaze.

Previously, Su Kaicheng had already given him a task to prevent anyone from targeting Fusang Country, which had been keeping Ye busy. Who could have guessed that this time, it once again involved Fusang Country and even a team of highly trained and well-equipped special forces? What on earth was happening?

”What exactly is happening over there in Fusang Country?” Ye Qing asked softly. Fusang Country was indeed a nation, yet so many parties were targeting it? Not only were forces like the Hongmeng Qingtang and Prince Wan Yan watching over there, but even some military organizations outside the border were eyeing it. What exactly was going on?
