Urban Martial Saint

The monk glanced coldly at Da Fei beside him and said, ”Then why don’t you talk about how he disrespected me?”

”Damn, what kind of bullshit is this monk saying? Since you came in, Da Fei only said one sentence, and it was to ask what you were doing here. How did he disrespect you?” Hou San said angrily from the side, ”Besides, who do you think you are that we need to show you respect?”

The monk’s face turned cold, and he looked at Hou San with cold eyes, saying deeply, ”Mr. Ye, now you see how your people are speaking.”

Ye Qing looked at Hou San and said, ”Old Three, you’re wrong to say that. How can you speak to them like that? As the saying goes, ’a visitor is a guest.’ Since they are here, we should treat them as guests.”

The monk smiled triumphantly, thinking Ye Qing was about to scold Hou San. Who knew Ye Qing would change his tone and directly say, ”However, guests also have to follow the rules of being guests. You all came into my house, beat up my brethren, and insulted my family. Isn’t this your fault?”

Hearing Ye Qing say this, Hou San couldn’t help but smile and proudly looked at those monks. The lead monk’s expression changed, and he solemnly said, ”When did we insult your family?”

”Then when did my brethren disrespect you?” Ye Qing retorted.

The monk replied solemnly, ”When I just came in, he immediately pointed a finger at me. In our religion, that’s a sign of disrespect!”

”Exactly!” Ye Qing said, ”In Huaxia, there’s an old saying: ’Upon entering a house, respect the people, entering a temple, respect the gods.’ You swaggered into my house without a polite word, which is disrespectful to my family!”

”Really?” The monk looked doubtful, clearly unaware of these customs. In fact, these were all fabrications by Ye Qing; there were no such sayings. He just made them up to defend Da Fei. Having dealt with people like Old Wang Ba and Handsome Fatty Wang Shi Jia, Ye Qing had gradually learned these cunning tricks, leaving the monk stunned.

”Of course it is!”

”Damn, entering a temple you must respect the gods, haven’t you heard of this? And you call yourself a monk!”

”You came in first and said nothing, so it was you who first disrespected us!”

Mad Dog Hou San, Qin Jing, and others immediately voiced their agreement, supporting Ye Qing, leaving the three monks even more confused.

”Why haven’t I heard of these things?” the monk mumbled softly to himself.

”If you haven’t heard, it’s because you’re ignorant. Huaxia is a land of etiquette, everything has its proprieties. You think only you have rules?” Qin Jing shouted, ”Enough nonsense. Da Fei disrespected you so you beat him like that. Now, you’ve disrespected all of us, how do you plan to handle this?”

The three monks exchanged glances, each looking somewhat frustrated and puzzled. At this point, they couldn’t avoid it; after all, they acted first.

”What do you want then?” the monk asked grimly, his tone very firm. It was clear that the impending arrival of the Purple Robe Lama had given him much more confidence, even changing his manner of speaking.

”What do you think we should do?” Ye Qing retorted.

”We didn’t know about all of Huaxia’s rules, so you can’t blame us for that. Isn’t there a saying in Huaxia, ’Ignorance is innocence’?” the monk said loudly, ”This is our fault. I’ll apologize to you all, and we’ll call it even, okay?”

”Is that acceptable?”

”Screw you, when we disrespected you, you beat one of us. Now you’ve disrespected us all, and you think an apology is enough? Why?”

”Beat them! Beat them!”

Before Ye Qing could speak, Hou San and others started shouting angrily. If it weren’t for the fact that these three monks were very strong, they might have already started fighting.

Facing so many people on Ye Qing’s side, the three monks looked quite embarrassed. The lead monk gritted his teeth and said solemnly, ”Mr. Ye, I’ve already apologized. Why are your people still pressing us? What do you want us to do?”

”It’s not that our people are pressing you, but that we feel your apology lacks sincerity,” Ye Qing said. ”Our man disrespected you, and you injured him. Now you’ve disrespected us, and you think a simple apology will suffice? Is this your attitude in apologizing? If this is your attitude, I won’t accept it!”

”So what exactly do you want?” the monk fumed, ”The event has already occurred. We’ve apologized as we should. What more do you want us to do?”

”In Huaxia, there’s an old saying: ’A drop of water received, a spring in return.’ ” Ye Qing looked at the three monks and said, ”The same goes for revenge. One of us disrespected you, and you injured him. Now that you disrespect so many of us, shouldn’t we hit back?”

The monks’ expressions changed. They knew Ye Qing’s strength. If Ye Qing really wanted to hit each of them once, they couldn’t take it.

”Ye Qing, we don’t know all the rules of Huaxia, and we don’t want to waste words with you,” the lead monk said sternly. ”Our Brahminism’s Supreme Protector will arrive in Shenchuan City tomorrow. If you want to pursue this matter, talk to our protector tomorrow. If there’s nothing else, the three of us will take our leave!”

As the monk spoke, he turned to leave with the other two, but was blocked by Hou San and the others at the door.

”You come here, hit people, and then just leave? It’s not that easy!” Hou San shouted. ”If you just walk out today, where will we put our brothers’ faces in the future!”

The three monks turned to look at Ye Qing. Ye Qing shrugged and said, ”My brothers here have fiery tempers. If this matter isn’t resolved, I’m afraid you won’t be able to leave.”

”Ye, do you intend to keep us here?” the lead monk said sternly. ”Hmph, at worst we just won’t leave. When the Supreme Protector arrives tomorrow, he’ll definitely come to see why the three of us didn’t return!”

The three monks relied entirely on the strength of the Purple Robe Lama, hoping to suppress Ye Qing, so they kept mentioning the Supreme Protector. However, since Ye Qing dared to trouble them, he had long been indifferent to life and death, and wouldn’t be scared by a Supreme Protector.

”Are you trying to intimidate me?” Ye Qing said coldly.

”Why would we need to intimidate you!” the lead monk said with a cold smile. ”But, Ye, don’t say I didn’t warn you. This time, when the Supreme Protector comes, he’ll definitely settle all previous matters with you. So, I advise you to be prepared!”

”Great, I was planning to settle those past matters with him too.” Ye Qing said. ”However, I don’t like to procrastinate with things. Today’s matter should be dealt with today. You disrespected us, and this must be resolved today. I’ll make it simple for you. You punched my brother just now, now let my brother return the punch to you, and we’ll call it even, how about that?”

The lead monk’s heart skipped a beat. The reason he didn’t dare agree earlier was he feared Ye Qing would personally strike. However, hearing Ye Qing say this meant he intended to let Da Fei hit them, which posed no threat. Da Fei couldn’t perform martial arts, whereas they were all Inner Strength masters capable of Internal Energy Release. A punch from Da Fei couldn’t harm them in the slightest; it was no threat at all.

”You said it!” the lead monk said sternly. ”Just this one punch, and it must be returned by the person I punched earlier!”

Ye Qing calmly replied, ”A gentleman’s word is as good as his bond!”

”Alright, it’s settled then,” the lead monk walked over directly and said, ”Alright, let’s do it.”

Ye Qing’s team immediately looked at Da Fei, who had already let go of his hands, stopped bleeding from his nose and mouth, though he still looked quite embarrassed. Seeing everyone looking at him, he was somewhat embarrassed and whispered, ”Big Bro, I... hitting him might not even hurt...”

”No problem, just go up and hit,” Ye Qing said.

Da Fei whispered, ”But if it doesn’t hurt, there’s no effect at all, right?”

”The key is to save face, whether it hurts or not is secondary.” Ye Qing patted Da Fei’s shoulder and said, ”If you don’t hit now and they run, there’ll be no chance left.”

Da Fei, having already been hit earlier, was full of anger and genuinely wanted to return a punch. Hearing Ye Qing say this, he simply gritted his teeth and walked straight toward the monk.

”A punch is a punch, damn it!” Da Fei shouted angrily and swung his fist straight towards the monk’s face.

Watching Da Fei’s move, the monk couldn’t help but show a hint of a cold smile. The punch was neither powerful nor fast, and meaningless whether it hit him or even someone with no martial arts skills; it wouldn’t cause any harm, making Da Fei appear purely as a clown.

”Damn, Fei, you didn’t put much into that punch!” Hou San couldn’t help saying from the side.

”That punch probably didn’t even hurt!” Qin Jing murmured.

Da Fei also felt very awkward, but since the punch was already thrown, it was impossible to take it back. As the punch was about to land, it seemed as if something hit the back of his left knee, causing him to involuntarily step forward. Just then, his foot caught on a protruding stone tablet, not high, but just enough to trip him, causing Da Fei to fall forward, and his punch landed accurately between the monk’s legs.

”Ouch!” The monk instantly clutched his crotch and fell to his knees, his face turning a deep shade of red, looking like he was on the verge of complete breakdown.

Even with his Inner Strength protecting him, a man’s most sensitive area couldn’t be protected by any amount of cultivation power. The pain was so intense that it brought tears to his eyes.
