Urban Martial Saint

Northern Martial Zen slowly followed along the shore, having made up his mind that unless he saw the two bodies, he would absolutely not leave.

Another hour or so passed and even Ye Qing’s body began to float and sink in the water. It was clear that Ye Qing was completely exhausted and could no longer swim.

”Hahaha...” Northern Martial Zen laughed and said, ”Ye, let me give you some advice. Hurry up and crawl out of the sea, at least you’ll still have an intact corpse. Otherwise, if you die in the sea, aren’t you afraid that your family won’t even be able to find your body?”

Ye Qing gritted his teeth and didn’t say a word. He really didn’t have the strength to speak, nor the strength to swim forward. He could only use one arm to try his best to hold up Handsome Fatty Wang, while he himself struggled to keep his head above the sea to maintain his breathing. However, this was not a long-term solution. If he continued like this, sooner or later, he would completely run out of strength and drown in the water.

Seeing that Ye Qing wasn’t swimming forward anymore, Northern Martial Zen didn’t advance either, just stood leisurely on the shore waiting.

This went on for about five minutes. While Northern Martial Zen was waiting leisurely, suddenly a vehicle came driving on the road from afar.

Hearing the sound of the car, Northern Martial Zen looked back with a trace of doubt, but didn’t pay much attention. This looked like a dock, and at night, those who come here are probably from Beijiang City. As long as it’s not a formidable person, it doesn’t matter.

Northern Martial Zen ignored the car, but the car stopped right in front of him. A man got out and said, ”Sir, is there something you’re doing here?”

Northern Martial Zen frowned, looked at the man, and said in a somber voice, ”What’s it to you?”

The man said, ”Sorry, we need to handle some matters here tonight, and it’s not very convenient if someone is around. So, could you please leave for now and come back after we’re done?”

”Something to handle?” Northern Martial Zen sneered and said, ”I don’t care what you’re handling. Everyone listen up, tonight this place is mine, and everyone else better get out.”

The man immediately frowned and said in a deep voice, ”Sir, you’re really overbearing, aren’t you?”

”So what if I am? If you’re not happy, kick me out!” Northern Martial Zen replied arrogantly. He could tell that although this man knew some martial arts, he was not up to par, so he didn’t bother to take the man seriously.

”Sir, since you said so, I will have to offend you!” The man shouted and suddenly stepped forward, raising a fist to strike Northern Martial Zen.

Seeing the man throw a punch like that, Northern Martial Zen couldn’t help but laugh and hit back casually, sending the man flying back. He said, ”With skills like yours, you dare to make a move in front of me? You really don’t know your limits!”

Even though Northern Martial Zen’s punch wasn’t heavy, it left the man considerably injured, struggling to stand up. Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, he coldly looked at Northern Martial Zen and said in a deep voice, ”So, you’re a practitioner too. Seems like I underestimated you. Just wait—I’ll find someone now!”

”Go on, go on, I’m here bored by myself. Bring some people over to keep me entertained, I’ll be more than happy. Hurry up; don’t keep me waiting too long!” Northern Martial Zen responded loudly. Having let Ye Qing and Handsome Fatty Wang escape, he was filled with pent-up anger that he wanted to vent. These people coming out were just what he needed.

Without another word, the man hurriedly drove away from the place. It didn’t take long before the vehicle came back, heading straight for Northern Martial Zen.

Northern Martial Zen stood with his arms crossed, lazily watching the approaching vehicle with a dismissive expression. To him, the strength of these people was not worth mentioning. Moreover, there were no really formidable people here, so he didn’t care at all.

The vehicle stopped in front of Northern Martial Zen, and a man got out from the front but didn’t speak. Instead, he walked directly to the back and opened the rear door. It looked like the real expert was seated in the back.

Northern Martial Zen sneered and looked towards the rear compartment. From his angle, he couldn’t see the person’s face inside. However, from afar, it seemed that the person inside was rather large, with bulging muscles making the clothes tight, and his tall frame seemed a bit cramped even in the large off-road vehicle.

Seeing the build, Northern Martial Zen inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity. But for the moment, he really couldn’t recall where he had seen this before, only having an inexplicable feeling of awe.

While Northern Martial Zen was pondering, a bold voice came from within the car, ”I was wondering who it was; turns out it’s Northern Martial Zen!”

At this voice, Northern Martial Zen’s face changed dramatically, and he said in a deep voice, ”General Helian!?”

When he said these four words, Northern Martial Zen’s tone even changed a bit, because these four words represented someone truly terrifying.

Meng District General Helian Tiehua, overwhelming the world, invincible!

A man stepped out of the car, tall and broad-shouldered with a bear-like waist. Just standing there, he exuded an overwhelming sense of dominance, as if the world revolved around him!

It was indeed Great General Helian Tiehua!

At the moment Northern Martial Zen saw Helian Tiehua, his legs went weak, almost collapsing to the ground. He barely managed to stand firm, but his hands were shaking uncontrollably, beyond his control.

In front of Helian Tiehua, whether it was Northern Martial Zen or Prince Wan Yan, they couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of awe. There was no avoiding it, Helian Tiehua’s presence was simply too overpowering!

”So... so the Great General is here on official duty...” Northern Martial Zen quickly said, ”Earlier, I didn’t know who was handling affairs here, so if I have offended in any way, I ask the Great General for forgiveness.”

Helian Tiehua’s expression remained calm, unchanged by Northern Martial Zen’s apology.

”Mr. Bei, I wonder how the people of the Hong Alliance offended you earlier?” Helian Tiehua asked.

”This... they didn’t offend me…” Northern Martial Zen quickly replied.

”If they didn’t offend you, then why did Mr. Bei attack the people of the Hong Alliance?” Helian Tiehua asked again.

”I... I didn’t know they were from the Hong Alliance before!” Northern Martial Zen said.

”Not knowing they were from the Hong Alliance justifies attacking them at will?” Helian Tiehua’s expression turned cold as he said in a deep voice, ”As martial artists, let’s not say you should act chivalrously, but at least do not bully the weak. Northern Martial Zen, you’re considered a veteran expert, yet you treated a junior so harshly, is this your style of doing things?”

Being accused like this by Helian Tiehua, Northern Martial Zen felt greatly embarrassed, and an unnamed anger rose in his heart. He gritted his teeth, striving to suppress his anger, and said, ”General Helian, I’ve already apologized earlier. The incident has already happened, and I’ve apologized, isn’t that enough?”

”I believe an apology is useless when you’re wrong!” Helian Tiehua said coldly, ”If one day by accident I injure Bei Shisan, and then apologize to you, would you accept it?”

”You... isn’t this just playing with words?” Northern Martial Zen said.

”Very well, let’s not waste words!” Helian Tiehua said loudly, ”I have always been fair in my actions; you hit one of my people, I return the punch to you. If you have the skill to dodge or block my punch, that’s your ability, I have nothing to say. If you fail, don’t blame me for hitting too hard!”

Northern Martial Zen took a deep breath, looking coldly at Helian Tiehua, and said, ”General Helian, you’re being too arrogant. If I, Northern Martial Zen, can’t even block a single punch from you, what right do I have to walk the Jianghu in the future?”

”Very good!” Helian Tiehua nodded, took off his coat, and walked slowly up to Northern Martial Zen, calmly saying, ”Once again, whether you dodge it or block it, it counts as taking my punch. So, make your best preparation!”

Northern Martial Zen coldly shouted, ”Hmph, make your move!”

Helian Tiehua said no more, standing straight and gazing at Northern Martial Zen placidly without a trace of expression. It seemed as though he wasn’t about to make a move on Northern Martial Zen, but merely having a casual stare-off.

Yet, Northern Martial Zen’s whole body tensed up, with Helian Tiehua standing in front of him, he couldn’t help but feel an indescribable sense of oppression, making even breathing difficult. This was a sheer panic that arose from his heart, even before Helian Tiehua made a move, he had already conceded mentally.

Helian Tiehua stared at Northern Martial Zen for a while before suddenly taking a slow step forward, his right hand forming a fist, directly aiming at Northern Martial Zen’s chest.

Helian Tiehua’s step forward was incredibly slow, and his punch was even slower; it seemed as though he was an old man practicing Tai Chi. Not just Northern Martial Zen, even a child could easily dodge his punch.

Northern Martial Zen, originally on high alert, focusing all his energy to ward off Helian Tiehua’s punch. However, upon seeing Helian Tiehua punch in that manner, he immediately widened his eyes.

This was the punch Helian Tiehua intended to return? With this speed, this force, and Helian Tiehua had earlier warned him to be careful? Such a punch, did it even warrant caution? It was utterly laughable!

Northern Martial Zen sneered, stepping to the side to first dodge Helian Tiehua’s punch, then clasped his hands together, seizing the opportunity to lock onto Helian Tiehua’s wrist. Not only did he intend to dodge Helian Tiehua’s punch, but he also planned to counterattack, making Helian Tiehua suffer a little loss to regain some face. Anyway, Helian Tiehua had said he’d only throw this one punch, which gave Northern Martial Zen the boldness to make a move against Helian Tiehua.

Faced with Northern Martial Zen’s incoming hands, Helian Tiehua seemed not to notice at all, maintaining his punch speed, still heading forward, landing right into Northern Martial Zen’s grip.
