Urban Martial Saint

With the matter of the biochemical weapon resolved, Ye Qing and Lin Tianyou didn’t linger here much longer. Especially Ye Qing, who became even more alert after discovering Ning Qianshu’s apprentice was tracking him. This time Ning Qianshu’s apprentice didn’t gain any advantage, but who knows about next time. Fortunately, Ye Qing always carried Mu Ling with him, which was the ultimate treasure from the Miao Borderlands that could cure any poison in the world. Ning Qianshu’s poison had no effect on him.

Ye Qing also didn’t toss away those two Divine Doctor’s Orders; instead, he first hid them. He didn’t go to the Capital; after wrapping things up here, he bid farewell to Su Kaicheng and returned to Shenchuan City with Lin Tianyou.

From start to finish, Lin Tianyou didn’t know what identity Su Kaicheng held. However, Lin Tianyou didn’t ask either. His character was like that: as a doctor, regardless of whether the patient was a criminal or a kind person, he treated them equally. In his eyes, a patient was just a patient, with no distinction between noble or humble. Thus, even when he took a special plane to a military unit to treat patients, he didn’t make much of it as he treated them with a calm demeanor, considering it all saving lives.

Because at that time Ning Qianshu’s apprentice also left Lin Tianyou a Divine Doctor’s Order, Ye Qing was worried that those people might target Lin Tianyou. During his return to Shenchuan City these few days, Ye Qing practically spent most of his time at the hospital, both to care for those previously injured and to protect Lin Tianyou to prevent Ning Qianshu’s apprentice from ambushing him.

Of course, Ye Qing wasn’t idle these past few days. He copied all the content recorded in the Acupoint Seeking Technique and handed it to Lin Tianyou. As for the martial arts methods within, Ye Qing didn’t copy them, since Lin Tianyou was already quite old and starting to practice Inner Strength techniques now would yield no results. Also, teaching him such Breathing Methods might not necessarily be beneficial, so what Ye Qing copied were solely the medical techniques.

Lin Tianyou was extremely fascinated with the medical skills Ye Qing imparted; he had been studying the methods taught by Ye Qing beforehand. Unexpectedly, Ye Qing this time gave him a whole book, filled entirely with miraculous methods, making Lin Tianyou feel as though he’d obtained a treasure. Every day, apart from diagnosing patients, he studied this book, researching the contents of the Acupoint Seeking Technique.

Undoubtedly, if Lin Tianyou could master all the contents of the Acupoint Seeking Technique this time, his medical skills would certainly rise to a new level, reaching a height he previously couldn’t achieve. After all, this Acupoint Seeking Technique was personally written by Divine Doctor An Shiping, and in this world, who could compare to An Shiping in medical skills?

Ye Qing was busy protecting Lin Tianyou on one hand, while on the other hand assisting Zhao Chengshuang in tracking down the members of the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps. These people clearly came this time to seek revenge on him and Zhao Chengshuang. If they weren’t dealt with quickly, they would remain a significant hidden danger, causing inevitable worry.

However, during these few days, the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps seemed to have disappeared completely; they didn’t appear at all from start to finish. This situation made it impossible for Ye Qing to find them. It should be noted that the combat capability of the people in the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps was definitely not weaker than Special Forces, with strong anti-reconnaissance and anti-tracking abilities. Without clues, it was impossible for Ye Qing to find them.

But luckily, these few days Shenchuan City was exceptionally calm. Even though masters from Sha Men and the Seven Steering Committees of Hong Alliance weren’t stationed in Shenchuan City, no outsiders came to cause trouble, making the area seem particularly peaceful. After a few days, Ye Qing’s initially tense nerves finally relaxed somewhat.

In the afternoon, Ye Qing had just returned from the hospital, planning to go home for dinner. However, he hadn’t reached home yet when he received a call from Zhao Chengshuang, urging Ye Qing to immediately go to the North Suburb of the city, where something big had happened.

Zhao Chengshuang didn’t mention what exactly happened in the call, and Ye Qing didn’t ask further, instead driving straight there. Upon arriving at the scene, Ye Qing found Zhao Chengshuang was there, along with a large police presence surrounding an abandoned factory district. Zhao Chengshuang was standing outside the factory district directing operations, and upon spotting Ye Qing, he immediately approached and asked, ”Ye Zi, did you do this?”

”What? What did I do?” Ye Qing looked puzzled, wondering why Zhao Chengshuang was speaking so cryptically.

”Those people inside, didn’t you kill them?” Zhao Chengshuang asked curiously.

”Huh?” Ye Qing was stunned for a moment and asked, ”Are there dead people inside?”

”More than just a few!” Zhao Chengshuang glanced at Ye Qing and said, ”I speculate that all the mercenaries sent from the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps to Huaxia are dead inside!”

”What!?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened. The ones dead inside were actually mercenaries from the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps? What went on? Who killed them? Who had the ability to do this?

Ye Qing quickly walked into the factory district, and sure enough, twenty-odd corpses lay sprawled on the ground inside. Each corpse was equipped with sophisticated gear, various advanced weapons hanging on them, and they all bore the mark of the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps. There was no doubt these were indeed mercenaries from the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps; Ye Qing had seen their mark before. Furthermore, these people were clearly well-trained individuals, not impostors, no mistake about it.

”Is it really them?” Ye Qing immediately furrowed his brow. Who killed these mercenaries? How many enemies did the Toxic Eel Mercenary Corps have in Huaxia? Moreover, to wipe them out like this, the assailant was definitely a top martial artist; who exactly did this?

”Each death was brutal, and each was a one-hit kill, with no chance for a second strike!” Zhao Chengshuang said solemnly beside him.

”Who on earth did this?” Ye Qing asked seriously.

”Don’t know!” Zhao Chengshuang shook his head and, after a moment of silence, remarked, ”It should be someone with martial arts, Ye Zi, with your ability, who do you think could have done this?”

Ye Qing shook his head and said, ”I absolutely couldn’t do it. These mercenaries were strictly trained and well-equipped. If I came alone, it would likely be me lying dead here!”

”Even you couldn’t handle them? Then who could have done it?” Zhao Chengshuang speculated, ”Could... could it be that white-haired Ding San?”

Ye Qing looked around and shook his head again, saying, ”It’s not him. White-haired Ding San has a characteristic when he kills: the victim’s blood is drained, covering an area with it. Here, there’s not a trace of blood, and the blood of these mercenaries remains inside their bodies, definitely not done by white-haired Ding San.”

”Then who could it be?” Zhao Chengshuang scratched his head and said, ”I’ll tell you, not only wasn’t the blood drained, but it seems they didn’t resist. Around here, there’s not a bullet hole or struggle marks. In other words, these people were killed without putting up a fight!”

”How is that possible?” Ye Qing’s eyes widened. There are more than twenty bodies here; even if a few were killed before they reacted, what were the rest doing? Were they all standing still waiting to be killed?

”Therefore, we have reason to suspect that many people executed this. Each dealt with one or two without leaving room for reaction, and so killed them all!” Zhao Chengshuang explained.

Ye Qing frowned slightly; he didn’t quite agree with Zhao Chengshuang’s explanation. If it were really as Zhao Chengshuang said, at least twenty experts were required to handle these people. Now, where can you find that many masters? Moreover, even if they did gather such a number, signs of resistance would be inevitable. Yet the key problem is the mercenaries didn’t resist at all.

Actually, Ye Qing had another idea, stemming from his experience with the last biochemical weapon incident. At that time, soldiers were mesmerized with mesmerizing medicine, allowing Bai Li Xi and Hou Yuewen to escape without their noticing. These mercenaries, could they have been similarly drugged and then killed?

This thought made Ye Qing’s heart jump. If that were true, this affair would be even stranger. No doubt, only the descendants of Ning Qianshu could produce such mesmerizing medicine. But logically, Ning Qianshu’s descendants would surely wish for these mercenaries to kill Ye Qing, so why would they target these mercenaries? It doesn’t make sense for Ning Qianshu’s people to have done this.

Yet aside from this explanation, Ye Qing couldn’t find another plausible one. The mercenaries had indeed died here, and although Ye Qing could at least lay to rest one worrying issue, for some reason, he felt even more uneasy. From the Divine Doctor’s Order to this incident, he suspected Ning Qianshu might be stirring up something again. But what exactly was Ning Qianshu attempting this time?

”Forget it, let’s not dwell on it. These mercenaries are dead, so I don’t have to spend every day on edge!” Zhao Chengshuang exhaled deeply, ”Ye Zi, why don’t we take these bodies back and claim some reward? No matter how they died, their deaths mean we can relax from now on.”

Ye Qing nodded slowly, but his heart remained heavy. Perhaps Zhao Chengshuang was safe, but Ye Qing faced a different reality. Regardless of who eliminated this batch of mercenaries, Ye Qing had to carefully ponder what they intended. Did they have an agenda?

Zhao Chengshuang instructed the police to gather evidence from the scene before taking all the corpses away. Thus, this case drew to a close, allowing the Eastern Province Police to breathe a sigh of relief. After all, even Su Kaicheng got injured in the incident last time, and the pressure on the Eastern Province Police was significant. Finally resolving it was indeed a weight off their shoulders.
