Urban Martial Saint

The Purple Robe Lama actually didn’t know it was Ding Lianshun who killed the elder. The reason he spoke this way to Ding Lianshun was because he suspected Ding Lianshun and wanted to entice him to reveal the truth. Unfortunately, Ding Lianshun was also a very shrewd person and wasn’t fooled by the Purple Robe Lama’s words. Instead, it made the Purple Robe Lama suspicious: could he be wrong?

”Thank you, Protector Ding!” The Purple Robe Lama paused for a moment and said, ”There’s no need for help; I’ve come tonight mainly to deal with the matters concerning Ye Qing. However, judging by this demeanor, the two of you seem ready to fully assist Ye Qing.”

”After the fifteenth of next month, if the Venerable wants to do anything, we won’t stop you.” Ding Lianshun said, ”But before then, I’m afraid that’s not possible.”

Upon hearing this, Ye Qing felt a jolt in his heart. What did Ding Lianshun mean by the fifteenth of next month? Could it be that they were planning to help him until the fifteenth of next month? But why would they help him? Moreover, if they were going to help him, why was there a time restriction? What exactly did the Twelve Green Halls mean?

”The fifteenth of next month.” The Purple Robe Lama gently smiled and glanced at Ye Qing, ”So, it seems that before the fifteenth of next month, you two will fully protect Ye Qing.”

Ding Lianshun and Yin Xianzi both furrowed their brows slightly; they certainly didn’t want Ye Qing to know about this. However, since they were now negotiating with the Purple Robe Lama, they had to mention this deadline. After all, the Twelve Green Halls didn’t want to anger the Purple Robe Lama. Yet, if this matter were disclosed and Ye Qing found out, they might face some trouble.

But now, things had reached this point, and the situation was almost transparent, so the two simply stopped hiding.

”I’m afraid so.” Yin Xianzi smiled and said, ”Venerable, could you grant us some leniency?”

The Purple Robe Lama said, ”Granting leniency isn’t difficult, but I would like to see if the two of you have the capability to protect Mr. Ye.”

Yin Xianzi furrowed her brows; the Purple Robe Lama’s words were clearly a challenge. Truth be told, they really didn’t want to engage in combat with the Purple Robe Lama, but under the present circumstances, avoiding a fight seemed impossible.

Yin Xianzi and Ding Lianshun exchanged a look; Ding Lianshun directly walked up to the Purple Robe Lama and said, ”If the Venerable wishes to spar, Ding Someone is willing to accompany.”

”Alright!” The Purple Robe Lama stood up and walked into the courtyard, saying, ”I am also not accustomed to sparring with female patrons.”

”I never thought the master was a man who cherishes beauty,” Yin Xianzi giggled.

The Purple Robe Lama said, ”Indeed, at least when a man is injured, he won’t cry. If a woman cries out when hurt, others might wrongly think I’m bullying a child!”

Yin Xianzi’s expression changed, and she said in a deep voice, ”I never expected the famed Purple-robed Elder to be a sharp-tongued person.”

The Purple Robe Lama said, ”A monk originally relies on eloquence to charm like a lotus flower.”

Helian Tiehua smiled slightly at the side; he could see that the Purple Robe Lama actually didn’t have any favorable feelings towards the Twelve Green Halls. The reason he challenged these two was entirely to show them a warning. At least in this matter, the Purple Robe Lama won’t help the Twelve Green Halls, which reassured Helian Tiehua considerably.

”Why waste so many words!” One-Eyed Ding Lianshun had already stepped forward, standing in front of the Purple Robe Lama, and said in a low voice, ”If the Venerable truly wants to use words to fight, we might as well leave. In a verbal battle, we are probably not the Venerable’s match.”

The Purple Robe Lama smiled slightly, then suddenly dashed towards Ding Lianshun. As he neared Ding Lianshun, he suddenly leaped up, like a Big Eagle, descending upon Ding Lianshun and delivering two palm strikes towards him.

It is said that when an expert makes a move, it’s immediately apparent they mean business. The Purple Robe Lama, being one of the Five Uniques and famous across the land, everyone knew his strength was formidable. However, few had seen him in action, nor did they know exactly how powerful he might be.

This time, Ye Qing saw firsthand the Purple Robe Lama in action. The Purple Robe Lama’s speed wasn’t particularly fast, but when he struck, he directly blocked all of Ding Lianshun’s escape routes, forcing him to confront him head-on.

Ding Lianshun didn’t mean to dodge, after all, he possessed strength comparable to the Five Uniques. Although he was scared off by Helian Tiehua last time, it was because Helian Tiehua practiced that A Stone’s Throw Away technique. Facing the Purple Robe Lama, he was not as panicked. As long as he didn’t encounter a heaven-defying skill like A Stone’s Throw Away, he believed he could handle it completely.

So, he directly stood on the ground, and both palms struck out simultaneously, instantly exchanging seven or eight palm strikes with the Purple Robe Lama.

People watching around only heard a few sounds of palm strikes, but in reality, they couldn’t clearly see how the two were exchanging blows, mainly because both suddenly increased their speed. Especially the Purple Robe Lama, at first, the crowd could still see his figure, but later, he directly turned into a blur, continually attacking around Ding Lianshun. The crowd only heard a series of palm strike sounds, but didn’t see exactly how the Purple Robe Lama struck, nor did they know where the Purple Robe Lama was standing now.

Helian Tiehua’s eyes flashed with brilliance; with his strength, he surely saw the situation of the battle inside clearly. However, the speed of the Purple Robe Lama still shocked him. Honestly, the speed of the Purple Robe Lama was only slightly slower than A Stone’s Throw Away, but far exceeded all the masters Helian Tiehua had seen before; this speed was simply terrifying.

Helian Tiehua was very surprised at heart; he knew that the Purple Robe Lama was very strong, but also knew that he was not known for speed. This time, the Purple Robe Lama’s speed was beyond his expectations; what martial arts had the Purple Robe Lama practiced over the years to become this fast?

Red Snake Yin Fairy was even more shocked, her mouth agape at the speed of the Purple Robe Lama. Ding Lianshun, amidst it all, was already struggling, barely able to fend off the Purple Robe Lama’s attacks. But at this speed, if he was even slightly careless, he could be hit by the Purple Robe Lama, which would mean losing.

However, although anxious at heart, he could do nothing; the speed of the Purple Robe Lama was so fast that he couldn’t think of a way to counter, only desperately defending against the Purple Robe Lama’s strikes. They contended like this for roughly fifteen minutes before the Purple Robe Lama suddenly retreated away from Ding Lianshun, while Ding Lianshun still nervously waved his hands, completely frightened by the Purple Robe Lama.

After the Purple Robe Lama retreated, the crowd around immediately let out sounds of amazement, all staring at Ding Lianshun in surprise.

Ding Lianshun’s face was awkward, and simultaneously, very angry; he said in a deep voice, ”What are you looking at? I haven’t lost!”

”Cyclops,” Yin Fairy quietly reminded from beside, ”Look at your feet.”

”What’s wrong with my feet?” Ding Lianshun, irritated, looked down, and his expression changed directly after a glance. His feet had sunk deep into the floor, both legs knee-deep, completely stuck into the floor, and he was entirely unaware.

”This...” Ding Lianshun’s expression changed, hurriedly jumping out of the ground, bewildered for quite some time over what had happened.

”What happened?” Ding Lianshun asked Yin Fairy in a low voice, feeling extremely embarrassed at this moment. The situation looked as if the Purple Robe Lama had hit him into the ground, which clearly showed the outcome.

”While exchanging palms with him, he deliberately pressed part of the force downward, gradually pushing you into the floor,” Yin Fairy replied in a low voice.

Ding Lianshun frowned deeply; he hadn’t felt anything just now. Clearly, the Purple Robe Lama’s strength far exceeded his expectations. However, he was also really unwilling to accept it; not being Helian Tiehua’s match was one thing, but losing so thoroughly to the Purple Robe Lama was too humiliating.

”Purple Robe Lama, we haven’t finished yet!” Ding Lianshun shouted, suddenly charging at the Purple Robe Lama, prepared to fight hard and reclaim some face.

Facing Ding Lianshun’s aggressive momentum, the Purple Robe Lama smiled slightly, tapped the ground with his toes, the whole person seemingly weightless, lightly flying backward. Ding Lianshun’s heavy punch followed, closely pursuing the Purple Robe Lama. However, no matter how fast he ran, he could never catch up with the Purple Robe Lama, let alone harm him.

Helian Tiehua saw clearly, the Purple Robe Lama lightly tapped the ground with his toes, the whole person directly jumped backward a long distance, the speed extremely fast. Ding Lianshun tried his best to chase but couldn’t catch up; the speed gap between the two was too vast. It’s practically impossible for Ding Lianshun to gain any advantage over the Purple Robe Lama.

This scenario further astonished Helian Tiehua; it had been a long time since he last saw the Purple Robe Lama, and his strength had become much stronger than before. Not to mention anything else, just this speed alone, no one in the world could surpass him now. Except, perhaps, for Helian Tiehua’s A Stone’s Throw Away technique; there really were no martial arts that could surpass the Purple Robe Lama in speed. What Qinggong had he practiced?

Ding Lianshun originally was unconvinced by the Purple Robe Lama, wanting to fight firmly and reclaim some face. However, after chasing the Purple Robe Lama for a long time, he hadn’t even touched the corner of the Purple Robe Lama’s clothes, driving him nearly insane. When did the gap between their skills become this big? In the past, he had fought the Purple Robe Lama, and at that time, neither was superior!

After chasing for several rounds, Ding Lianshun couldn’t catch up to the Purple Robe Lama and simply gave up entirely. He stopped, sighed with a sense of loss, and said, ”It’s been years since we met, Venerable’s skills have improved too much compared to the past!”
