Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing was silent for a while, looking at Zhao Chengshuang, and said, ”For these mercenaries that entered our country, have none been captured alive?”

”Actually, we did capture a few alive and interrogated them, but we couldn’t extract any useful information,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”These mercenaries operate on a mission basis, so they don’t know too much. All they know is that their mission entering Huaxia this time is to steal the weapons in the photo. They don’t know anything else, not even who hired them. This matter seems highly confidential.”

Ye Qing frowned slightly. Knowing nothing complicates the situation considerably. Clearly, foreign forces are aware of the matters involving the Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Gates, hoping to interfere. Moreover, it’s obvious that these foreign forces wield significant power. After all, hiring mercenaries isn’t something an average wealthy person can afford. The fact that so many mercenaries entered Huaxia shows that the people backing them at least have substantial financial resources.

”Once these mercenaries enter the mainland, it’s not so easy to track them down. So now, the entire country is on high alert, vigilant against these mercenaries everywhere,” Zhao Chengshuang said. ”Of course, capturing them isn’t easy. Thus, the police decided to start with these few weapons, find them first, and then deal with the mercenaries. In any case, we must not let those mercenaries steal these weapons; they are precious national treasures!”

Zhao Chengshuang was still fixated on the idea of antiques, unaware of the true significance these few weapons hold, which isn’t just about being simple antiques.

Ye Qing said, ”Don’t worry, it’s not going to be easy for those mercenaries to steal these weapons.”

”How do you know?” Zhao Chengshuang was taken aback, and then said, ”Oh right, Ye Zi, this sword looks a lot like your old one. Where is your sword now? Take it out and see; it might be quite similar?”

It’s more than just similar; the sword in the photo is precisely Ye Qing’s Seven-Star Ancient Sword. However, the Seven-Star Ancient Sword isn’t in Ye Qing’s possession right now; all six weapons are in the hands of Sha Men, which is why Ye Qing isn’t worried about the mercenaries stealing them. With the strength of the Bloody Monk, there’s no mercenary born yet who could take anything from them.

”You shouldn’t get too involved in this matter,” Ye Qing stood up, handing the six photos back to Zhao Chengshuang, saying, ”The more entangled you get, the more dangerous it becomes.”

”Why?” Zhao Chengshuang asked in surprise, but Ye Qing just waved his hand, not providing much explanation.

Zhao Chengshuang looked puzzled, but in the end, he didn’t ask more, knowing Ye Qing’s nature. He wouldn’t pry into matters Ye Qing chose not to speak about.

Gaining this information from Zhao Chengshuang added more to Ye Qing’s worries, and he headed straight home instead of visiting the orphanage that morning.

Ye Qing actually doesn’t have a home in Shenchuan City yet. The so-called home is in several manors built by Li Lianshan in the suburbs. These lands once belonged to Huangfu Ziyu. Known as the number one in the Eastern Province back then, she had properties all over the province, Shenchuan City included. Later, she gave most of her assets to Ye Qing, and the lands in Shenchuan City were also given to him.

Suddenly acquiring so much land, Li Lianshan unabashedly constructed several manors, gifting two to Ye Qing for residence. Thus, Ye Qing temporarily has a home in Shenchuan City, at least saving him from renting a place.

Every manor is beautifully constructed, occupying much more space than those so-called luxury villas, complete with front and back gardens, swimming pools, all well-equipped. Li Lianshan put significant effort into this aspect, and Liu Yuan handled the renovation, making the environment inside the manors quite impressive.

However, Ye Qing isn’t accustomed to living in such manors. After spending a long time in the military, suddenly residing in such a luxurious house is quite unsettling. So, in Ye Qing’s room, there’s still the military-style bunk bed, even though no one sleeps on the top bunk, Ye Qing finds sleeping on such a rigid bed particularly reassuring.

Ye Qing’s brothers in Shenchuan City, like Mad Dog, Da Fei, Qin Jing, and others, all live with Ye Qing in the manor. They quite enjoy the manor’s environment, spending most of their time lounging around. When Ye Qing returned, Mad Dog and the others were in the garden, barbecuing and playing cards. Since Ye Qing divested from most of the city venues, many of his people have had leisure time, living a very relaxed life.

”Big Brother, why are you back so early this morning?” Seeing Ye Qing return, they immediately stood up, and Da Fei smiled, saying, ”Care to join us for a couple of skewers?”

Ye Qing waved his hand; he wasn’t interested in such activities. Seeing that, they sat back and continued to enjoy themselves leisurely, while Ye Qing went alone into the living room, sitting down to ponder over the recent events. The Heaven, Earth, and Man Three Gates are about to open, and Huaxia is indeed becoming increasingly chaotic. First, the martial artists, who had been hiding, are emerging, vying for a chance to enter the Three Gates. Now, even foreign mercenaries are involved, making the situation increasingly difficult to control.

Su Kaicheng even tasked Ye Qing to prevent anyone from entering the Heaven’s Gate. Now it seems that the difficulty of this mission is far greater than initially estimated. With Ye Qing’s strength, stopping these people is truly no easy task.

”Hey, what are you doing?”

Just as Ye Qing was silently pondering, Da Fei’s voice suddenly came from outside. Startled, Ye Qing got up to check, and saw three monks had somehow entered the manor, with Da Fei and the others confronting them, and Da Fei was pointing and speaking to one of the monks.

The three monks had cold expressions, and the monk Da Fei was pointing at seemed angry, suddenly punching Da Fei in the face. Da Fei immediately crouched down, holding his face. Seeing this, Mad Dog and the others rushed forward, about to take action against the three monks.

”Stop!” Ye Qing, who had just rushed out, shouted, managing to hold back Mad Dog and the others.

Hou San turned around, urgently saying, ”Big Brother, these three monks broke into our manor and even assaulted people. Da Fei got injured by them.”

Ye Qing glanced at Da Fei, who was crouching, holding his nose with blood seeping through his fingers, indicating the monk’s punch was quite heavy. However, Da Fei was still standing, suggesting it was merely a superficial injury, nothing too serious.

Even so, Ye Qing’s expression turned icy. He recognized the attire of these three monks, clearly identifying them as believers of Brahmanism. These individuals are notoriously violent; the last time, they severely injured Li Lianshan, almost taking his life. This time, their attack on Da Fei was much less severe.

”What does this mean?” Ye Qing coldly looked at the three monks, hands already balled into fists. The grudge between him and these monks has deepened, and now they’ve come again, igniting his anger. If it weren’t his own place, he would’ve already acted out of courtesy, he refrained because it was on his turf.

”Mr. Ye, we’re here to deliver a message,” said the leading monk in the middle, looking at Ye Qing. ”Tomorrow night, the Supreme Protector of Brahmanism will arrive in Shenchuan City, and he wishes to meet you. If Mr. Ye is available, at nine o’clock tomorrow night, the Supreme Protector will await your presence at Wu Ming Temple in the Southern Suburb!”

Ye Qing frowned tightly. The Supreme Protector of Brahmanism, isn’t that the Purple Robe Lama? So, the Purple Robe Lama has entered Huaxia? And will arrive in Shenchuan City tomorrow night?

This matter is no good news for Ye Qing. The Purple Robe Lama, being the Supreme Protector of Brahmanism, coupled with the intensifying grudge between Ye Qing and Brahmanism, their arrival now with a meeting invitation certainly suggests more than just a casual encounter. Probably, the Purple Robe Lama is here to settle the scores between Ye Qing and Brahmanism.

The head monk noticed Ye Qing’s silence and mistook it for fear, a smug look briefly crossing his face, and he asked with a cold smile, ”Mr. Ye, will you be free at that time?”

Ye Qing glanced at the monk and slowly nodded, saying, ”Certainly, tell your Supreme Protector that I will definitely attend the meeting at nine tomorrow night!”

The lead monk looked slightly taken aback, having expected Ye Qing to refuse the invitation out of fear. He hadn’t imagined Ye Qing would agree. What’s this about? Isn’t Ye Qing afraid of the Purple Robe Lama?

After a moment of silence, he nodded and said, ”In that case, tomorrow night at nine, we look forward to your esteemed presence, Mr. Ye! We won’t disturb you further.”

Having said that, the monk was about to turn and leave when Ye Qing suddenly said, ”Wait a moment.”

A cold smile appeared on the lead monk’s face; he assumed Ye Qing had second thoughts, so he turned and said, ”Mr. Ye, are you perhaps thinking of something that’s preventing you from attending?”

”Not quite,” Ye Qing replied. ”It’s just that you have some unfinished business here, and it might not be convenient for you to just leave like this.”

”Our business?” The three monks exchanged glances, and the leading monk curiously asked, ”What business?”

Ye Qing glanced at Da Fei and said, ”You came to my place, injured my brother, and without a word, you want to leave. Isn’t that a bit inappropriate?”

The monk immediately frowned, realizing Ye Qing intended to pursue the matter. He initially thought the arrival of the Purple Robe Lama would frighten Ye Qing into submission. Now it seems Ye Qing is not only unafraid, but also prepared to pursue the issue. Does he not fear the Purple Robe Lama at all?
