Urban Martial Saint

Ye Qing had only heard of the name Purple Robe Lama before, but he had never seen the person.

Also one of the Five Unmatches of the World, the Purple Robe Lama is definitely the most mysterious among them. His strength is extremely strong, but he rarely sets foot in Huaxia, only frequenting the Western Frontier Brahmanism region, hardly interacting with the martial arts world of Huaxia. He became one of the Five Unmatches primarily because Great General Helian Tiehua had once fought with him, and people judged his strength based on that of Great General Helian Tiehua, concluding that he possessed the strength of the Five Unmatches.

In fact, Ye Qing later discovered that although there is the saying of the Five Unmatches, those who can truly be called Peak Masters are definitely more than just these five people. For instance, Shijia, Bloody Monk, One-Eyed Ding Lianshun, and even that Red Snake Yin Fairy from last time, have all reached the strength of the Five Unmatches. However, these people have not been rated among the Five Unmatches, why is that? How exactly are the Five Unmatches judged?

Although he couldn’t understand the judging criteria, Ye Qing knew very well that since the Purple Robe Lama was among the Five Unmatches, his strength was undoubtedly exceptional. Nonetheless, it seemed that this Purple Robe Lama was quite amiable, able to chat with the two gatekeeping old monks, which was completely different from the other monks of Brahmanism.

Seeing Ye Qing approach from afar, the Purple Robe Lama stood up and smiled at the two old monks, saying, ”Listening to the two masters is better than reading ten years of Buddhist Scripture, thank you for the guidance. However, I have some matters to attend to tonight, I will listen to your teachings another day when I have the time.”

The two monks promptly stood up, and one of them respectfully said, ”Actually, it is we who have greatly benefited from this conversation. The Holy Monk’s profound understanding of Buddhist principles truly leaves us in awe.”

”Buddhist principles are originally meant for mutual learning to achieve progress.” The Purple Robe Lama smiled and said, ”Escort the two masters back for rest.”

A young monk immediately came over and took the two old monks to rest. At this time, Ye Qing just walked to the entrance of the main hall, and the Purple Robe Lama happened to turn around, directly meeting Ye Qing’s gaze.

This was Ye Qing’s first time seeing the Purple Robe Lama up close; looking at him, Ye Qing had a feeling he couldn’t quite describe. When he first met people from Brahmanism, he had no good impression of them, always feeling that Brahmanism people were equally unreasonable, so upon seeing them, he couldn’t help but feel hostility.

Yet, the Purple Robe Lama seemed different from the rest. His appearance was similar to an ordinary person, but for some reason, when looking at him, one would involuntarily feel a sense of peace, unable to harbor any hostility, which was very strange.

Ye Qing was observing the Purple Robe Lama, while the Purple Robe Lama was actually observing Ye Qing as well. After looking Ye Qing up and down for a while, he chuckled and said, ”This must be Mr. Ye. I have long heard that the Northern Fist King has a good disciple, and today I see that the reputation is indeed well-deserved.”

”I have also long heard the name of the Purple-robed Elder.” Ye Qing calmly replied, though he was indeed shocked to see the Purple Robe Lama, he had met too many masters before; like Li Changqing, Shen Tianjun, Helian Tiehua, and Prince Nalan, none were inferior to the Purple Robe Lama, so Ye Qing had grown accustomed to it by now.

The calmness of Ye Qing slightly surprised the Purple Robe Lama, who chuckled gently and invited Ye Qing into the room. A monk had already prepared tea, and the Purple Robe Lama handed a cup to Ye Qing, his demeanor entirely that of a host welcoming a guest.

Ye Qing took the teacup and took a small sip, which made a flicker of appreciation flash in the eyes of the Purple Robe Lama. It’s worth noting that tonight’s situation was inherently somewhat special, with more hostility between each other. In this scenario, Ye Qing dared to drink the water they handed him without any skepticism, indicating that Ye Qing was a straightforward individual.

”Mr. Ye, recently, there has been a small misunderstanding between the people of Brahmanism and Mr. Ye.” The Purple Robe Lama looked at Ye Qing and said, ”I have asked them about this matter, and honestly, I don’t think Mr. Ye did anything wrong.”

Ye Qing’s expression altered slightly, initially thinking that seeing the Purple Robe Lama this time would inevitably lead to conflict. Unexpectedly, the Purple Robe Lama said such things, completely beyond his expectations. This Purple Robe Lama turned out to be so magnanimous?

”Thank you, Purple-robed Elder, for understanding!” Ye Qing breathed a sigh of relief and said, ”I also wanted to discuss this matter with the Purple-robed Elder. I don’t know who spread the rumor that I killed a Brahmanism elder, but I can assure you that I absolutely did not do such a thing.”

”I believe you!” The Purple Robe Lama nodded.

Ye Qing’s heart leaped, it seemed the situation tonight was not as bad as he anticipated. If this Purple Robe Lama is so rational, then no conflict is bound to occur at all.

The Brahmanism monks beside them were all looking at the Purple Robe Lama in astonishment. They originally thought the Purple Robe Lama came this time to cause trouble for Ye Qing. Unexpectedly, after meeting Ye Qing, the Purple Robe Lama had been speaking in favor of Ye Qing, without any intention to seek revenge on him, but what was his purpose?

The Purple Robe Lama ignored these people, merely watching Ye Qing silently, and said, ”Mr. Ye, I know the previous matters weren’t done by you. So, for the troubles Brahmanism has caused Mr. Ye previously, I am here to apologize on their behalf. Please forgive the offenses.”

This was even more unexpected for Ye Qing, who stared at the Purple Robe Lama in astonishment, momentarily suspecting if he was in an illusion.

”Purple-robed Elder!” An elder anxiously walked into the main hall, wanting to speak, but was stopped by a gesture from the Purple Robe Lama.

Another two elders wanted to speak, but seeing the demeanor of the Purple Robe Lama, they chose to remain silent. What the Purple Robe Lama wanted to do, they couldn’t control.

”Purple-robed Elder is too kind.” Ye Qing also recovered his senses and stood up promptly, saying, ”In fact, I am somewhat at fault too, there is no need for apologies. If the grudges between Brahmanism and me can be written off completely, that would be the best.”

The Purple Robe Lama nodded and said, ”Rest assured, this matter will be written off, and nothing will be mentioned again in the future!”

Ye Qing breathed a long sigh of relief, nodding and saying, ”That is for the best, indeed we don’t want to be enemies with Brahmanism.”

The Purple Robe Lama smiled lightly, and said, ”We too do not wish to be enemies with Mr. Ye, and the enemies of Brahmanism are not you, Mr. Ye. So, this matter will definitely never concern you again in the future.”

Hearing the Purple Robe Lama speak so, Ye Qing was slightly surprised and said, ”Purple-robed Elder, have you perhaps found out who killed that elder?”

The Purple Robe Lama sighed lightly, not answering Ye Qing’s question, but speaking softly, ”Mr. Ye, I came this time mainly for another matter, hoping to seek your assistance.”

Ye Qing immediately sat up straight and said, ”Whatever Purple-robed Elder needs assistance with, please feel free to command. As long as I can do it, I shall absolutely not decline!”

”Thank you in advance, Mr. Ye.” The Purple Robe Lama lightly smiled and said, ”In fact, this is not a difficult task for Mr. Ye. I came this time to trouble Mr. Ye a little. When that elder was killed last time, there was a cart of children, who were brought back by Mr. Ye, right?”

Ye Qing’s heart skipped a beat as the Purple Robe Lama brought up the matter of the children, what was he up to? Could it be that he also intends to take all these children back?

The words earlier from the Purple Robe Lama had greatly increased Ye Qing’s favorable impression, thinking of him as truly a venerable person. But now, hearing him bring up the children, Ye Qing’s heart was filled with hostility. Ye Qing now manages an orphanage and is especially sensitive about such matters, anyone trying to take children away in his presence is simply courting death.

”Purple-robed Elder, you are, after all, a disciple of the Buddhist Sect. Although the teachings of Brahmanism and our country’s Buddhism differ, Heaven has the virtue of cherishing life.” Ye Qing sighed and said, ”These children are lives, they have families and lives, living happily with their families. If you take them away, what will become of them? What will become of their families?”

The Purple Robe Lama shook his head and said, ”Mr. Ye, you misunderstand, I am not taking away the children. I just want to take them back to Brahmanism, and after some time, I will return them all, absolutely without any harm!”

Ye Qing frowned and said, ”Some time later? How long would that be? Purple-robed Elder, forgive my bluntness, but what exactly do you intend to do by taking these children?”

The Purple Robe Lama shook his head and said, ”Mr. Ye, this question, I fear I am unable to answer you, this is one of our secrets.”

Of course, the Purple Robe Lama dared not mention the search for the Reincarnated True Buddha, knowing that if Brahmanism’s enemies knew about this, they might also set out to find the Reincarnated True Buddha. If the enemy finds the Reincarnated True Buddha first, Brahmanism would be completely doomed. Therefore, this was the most confidential matter for Brahmanism, though the entire world knew they were searching for the Reincarnated True Buddha, no one knew exactly how to find the Reincarnated True Buddha, nor did anyone know which ones might be the Reincarnated True Buddha, this was the most unexposable matter.

Thus, the most prudent approach for Brahmanism in searching for the Reincarnated True Buddha was to find potential candidates and send them all to Brahmanism for identification. Only at Brahmanism could it be absolutely safe. Of course, before entering Brahmanism, no outsider was allowed to see these children.
