Urban Martial Saint

Zhao Chengshuang was hiding in a nearby room. Seeing Ye Qing had rescued Su Kaicheng, he finally let out a long sigh of relief.

”Ye Zi, what do we do now?” Zhao Chengshuang asked urgently.

Ye Qing replied, ”Let’s hide for a while; someone will come to help soon.”

”Who’s coming to help?” Zhao Chengshuang asked curiously.

Ye Qing said, ”Don’t worry about that for now, quickly come over and help me take care of Su Kaicheng.”

Zhao Chengshuang glanced at the several sniper rifles already extended outside and said anxiously, ”If I help you take care of him, what will you do?”

”I have to rescue those people outside,” Ye Qing said.

The people who came with Su Kaicheng were now scattered. Those in the same department as Su Kaicheng were injured earlier while protecting him and were still lying on the ground over there. These people were now in the most danger, as the snipers’ guns were aimed at them, ready to kill them at any moment.

”How will you save them?” Zhao Chengshuang asked urgently, ”There’s gunfire everywhere outside, do you know how many guns are pointed this way?”

”We can’t just watch them die here!” Ye Qing took off his coat casually, glanced at Zhao Chengshuang, and said, ”Take good care of Elder Brother Su for me!”

”Ye Zi, you...” Zhao Chengshuang shouted anxiously, but it was too late. Ye Qing threw his coat directly outside, and immediately several gunshots were heard, shredding the coat into fragments that fell to the ground.

The moment the gunfire sounded, Ye Qing, as agile as a cheetah, dashed out from a different direction. The snipers’ attention was completely drawn to Ye Qing’s coat, and they didn’t anticipate Ye Qing would emerge from another direction. By the time they realized, Ye Qing had already reached those people, grabbed one in each hand, and dashed back toward this side.

The snipers immediately shifted their aim to target Ye Qing, but his speed was incredibly fast. More critically, he kept changing direction with no set pattern, making it impossible for them to aim. Despite firing over a dozen shots, none hit Ye Qing.

Zhao Chengshuang had quietly sneaked over to Su Kaicheng while the snipers were focused on Ye Qing. Su Kaicheng had been shot in the neck, but fortunately, the bullet only grazed his neck without passing through. Plus, he had taken Ye Qing’s Ziyu Chenxiang Pill, which was slowing the bleeding.

Zhao Chengshuang was pressing on Su Kaicheng’s wound with his hand while nervously watching Ye Qing running amid the bullets outside, extremely anxious about it. When Ye Qing finally rushed in, he let out a long breath of relief.

”Ye Zi, don’t go out there again, that side is...” Zhao Chengshuang was about to persuade Ye Qing not to go out to save people again, but who knew, right after Ye Qing put down the two people, he dashed out from under the eaves, taking even Zhao Chengshuang by surprise. He thought Ye Qing would use a coat to distract them first, just like before, but unexpectedly, Ye Qing went out directly; wasn’t that asking for death?

However, the outcome was completely beyond Zhao Chengshuang’s expectations. When Ye Qing dashed out, the snipers were also caught off guard. After all, Ye Qing had tricked them with the coat distraction before. They’d thought Ye Qing would use a similar tactic again. Who knew he’d just run out like that, leaving them no time to aim?

But these snipers weren’t fools. Unable to aim at the running Ye Qing, they turned their guns to target the two remaining people on the ground, planning to wait in ambush for Ye Qing to approach.

Ye Qing rushed toward those two people, and just as he was about to reach them, he suddenly flung himself to the ground, rolled like a lazy donkey, and directly reached them. Ye Qing extended both hands, grabbing one person with each hand, and rolled with them in an incredibly fast sequence, leaving Zhao Chengshuang wide-eyed with shock.

The snipers hadn’t expected Ye Qing to use such a method to save these two people, making it impossible for them to aim. In desperation, they resorted to haphazard shooting. They aimed vaguely in that direction, hoping for a hit, leaving it to fate.

While rolling with the two wounded, Ye Qing suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left arm, as if bitten by something. His years in the military told him he had been shot. After all, facing so many snipers, it was difficult for Ye Qing to escape without injury amidst the chaotic shooting.

Yet, Ye Qing didn’t even let out a sound, hoisting the person he was holding with his left arm onto his shoulder. With his right hand grasping another person, he jumped up and, as before, hurriedly ran under the eaves.

Zhao Chengshuang watched anxiously as Ye Qing ran outside, and when he saw him finally come in, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief, exclaiming angrily, ”Ye Zi, you’re going insane! With so many snipers outside, are you trying to die?”

Ye Qing put down the two injured, also letting out a long sigh of relief, looked at the people on the ground, and said, ”I am from a military background. For a soldier, never abandoning comrades is a principle one holds dear!”

”Damn!” Zhao Chengshuang cursed, but after opening his mouth for a long time, he couldn’t think of a rebuttal to Ye Qing’s words. Finally, he clapped his hands angrily and yelled, ”Stop with the damn talking! Look how little blood you’re losing!”

Ye Qing, whose nerves had been on edge, hadn’t had the time to pay attention to his left arm. Now, as he came back to reality, he felt severe pain in his left arm. Looking down, he saw his entire left arm stained red with blood; the injury seemed quite serious.

”No worries!” Ye Qing tore a piece of clothing and tightly wrapped the wound, saying, ”I won’t die!”

”Of course, you won’t die!” Zhao Chengshuang was about to speak when gunfire suddenly erupted outside again. Zhao Chengshuang turned his head and saw a car speeding towards them from the distance. Two people peeked out from the car, shooting at the people Su Kaicheng had brought. At the same time, a few people appeared from a tall building in the distance, covering the car with gunfire.

”Damn it, they’re coming again!” Zhao Chengshuang was startled and said urgently, ”What do we do now?”

Ye Qing also frowned. The opponents had guns, which made it really tricky to engage.

”Let’s take Elder Brother Su away first.” Ye Qing said in a deep voice, casually pulling out the Wu Hong Dagger from his waist, ready to fight hard with this group of people.

At this moment, three more cars rushed in from the other side of the street—more precisely, three police cars. In these police cars were Hou Jianshu and his people. They had gone out to block the three roads entering Eryao Town, but Su Kaicheng and his group had forced their way in. Receiving orders from Zhao Chengshuang, they rushed back. To their surprise, they returned to such an explosive gunfight scene in town.

”What’s going on!” Hou Jianshu was completely stunned, momentarily even forgetting to order the driver to stop. He had been a police officer for many years and had never witnessed such an intense scene.

”Are they police?” Ye Qing felt relieved and looked at Zhao Chengshuang, asking, ”Did you call for reinforcements?”

Zhao Chengshuang glanced over and said, ”They’re from the Eryao Town police station. I guess they don’t have much combat capability.”

”Combat capability isn’t crucial; if they can give me a gun, that’s enough.” Ye Qing looked at his watch; it was almost the time he had agreed upon. The martial artists on the rooftop should be about to take action. Once the snipers above were dealt with, Ye Qing could unleash his full potential.

”Getting a gun is easy.” Zhao Chengshuang immediately poked his head out and shouted, ”Hou Jianshu, come over here! Quickly, come here!”

Hou Jianshu had initially wanted the driver to turn around and leave. Hearing Zhao Chengshuang’s shout, he hesitated. Retreating could save his life, but it would definitely cost him his position in the future. However, going back might mean losing his life, making the choice difficult for him.

”What are you thinking? Hurry up and come over!” Zhao Chengshuang urged, ”These are terrorists! If you can control the situation, you’ll be a hero!”

Hearing this, Hou Jianshu shivered. Looking at the two groups clashing ahead, he gritted his teeth and shouted, ”******, charge!”

The driver, quite brave himself, slammed the accelerator and charged forward upon receiving Hou Jianshu’s orders. Of the two cars following, one tailed them while the other hesitated before turning around and fleeing.

Zhao Chengshuang clearly saw all of this from inside, stomping his feet angrily, ”Bastards! Once this is over, I’ll make sure to deal with you guys properly!”

Meanwhile, Hou Jianshu’s two cars had already approached. Hou Jianshu even took out his own pistol, though he trembled and didn’t dare to shoot. After all, he had been a police officer for so many years and had never encountered a major case requiring him to fire his weapon. Besides training sessions, he had hardly ever used a gun.

As the cars arrived beside the building, Hou Jianshu immediately asked, ”Director Zhao, what... what’s happening here?”

”Big case, if handled well, promotion awaits!” Zhao Chengshuang replied.

”Really?” Hou Jianshu perked up a bit and asked, ”Then what should I do?”

Ye Qing said in a deep tone, ”You don’t need to do anything, just give me the gun, and protect the people here with your men.”

Hou Jianshu looked at Ye Qing, hesitating momentarily, unsure whether to obey or not.

Zhao Chengshuang glared and said, ”Why are you dawdling? Hurry up and toss the gun over!”

Only then did Hou Jianshu snap back to reality, quickly tossing the gun to Ye Qing. At the same time, he opened the car door, shouted, and rushed over, dashing under the eaves, ”Protect... protect whom?”

Zhao Chengshuang was speechless for a moment, then pointed towards Su Kaicheng behind them and said, ”Protect him well, and you’ll be promoted to deputy director of the precinct. Fail, and you’ll be demoted to handing out tickets on the streets!”

Hou Jianshu glanced at Su Kaicheng, not knowing Su Kaicheng’s identity. However, seeing Zhao Chengshuang’s serious expression, he figured this person’s identity must not be simple. Without a word, he ran inside, nervously standing guard by Su Kaicheng’s side.
